  • Hey uhm, just a question, ive bought the same guitar today, and whenever i do divebombs, my strings tuning goes very slightly higher, its unnoticable with ears, just with a tuner, is that something i need to tell the shop? Or should i just put a little lubricant at the knife edges? (an experienced guitar player told me that it works)

  • @tttmmmnnnttt well if it s a new guitar, remember you gotta stretch out the strings " yeah it sounds stupid" but after a while it will stop untuning

  • The 3 on the fucking b sting is so fucking hard!

  • Is that a schecter damien 6FR? I'm thinkin of gettin one. Any complaints?

  • @zombielovin nope, i believe its a really good guitar

  • OMG IT HAS DOLPHIN INLAYS YYYYYEEEAAAAA!!!!!!

  • @MrTradermon lol they're not dolphins XD they're bats

  • @MrTradermon idiot, are you gay? seriosly, dolpin inlays??

  • @52alkom heyy. only smart people make mistakes. your not smart because you saw there not dolphins

  • Comment removed

  • @52alkom id rather seev dolphins everywhere than be gay

  • @MrTradermon hahaha dumbass, they're bats, I have the same guitar

  • got the same kinda guitar but a 5 string bass :D

  • LOL WE HAVE THE SAME GUITAR!! HIGH FIVE!! :DD

  • thanks for the effort buddy

  • snap that guitar that you were playing, was that a shecter diamond series? because today i was looking through guitars at this place near me and that was there and i was searching for a guitar like that and it had same fret images and everything haha

  • @Baconboy2015 o yeah, its, a schecter Damien-fr

  • @Baconboy2015 ... can u tell me how not just playing it???

  • This sounds shit compared to the one on the album

  • I HAVE THAT GUITAR :DDD

  • so can you only do this with a locking system or is it also possible with a vintage whammy system

  • original floyd rose all the way

  • same, i badly need one of thos floating bridges

and a built in chaos pad

    -gasm-

  • @nivramkl Steal matt bellamys idea why dont you :D

  • ohnoes originality fail!

    D':

  • @nivramkl haha get a matt bellamy signature custom :D

  • ayeee i feel useless XD. i cant pull at natural harmonic out of 5th fret B. help? XD

  • mmm idk how i could help you XD

  • just do the dive bombs on both the G and B string at the same time on these frets: 3 5 7 9 15

  • Schecter Damien FR FTW!!!

  • so basically the five you bomb it and the rest of the notes you just pull out, so to say..?

  • the harmonic on the 5th fret e string can also be done on the 9th fret b string. thats what i use when i play it

  • yes thats even wat syn uses......check his dive bomb session on youtube itself......its brilliant.......he pulls it off with amazing ease.............but i cudnt make out for sure which strings........frets are pretty clear......so i m guessing this video is right..............

  • oh crap i hate not having a floyd rose guitar

  • yes it sucks

  • Right there with you. I'm going to end up spending about $900 to get the guitar I have now but with SD blackouts and an OFR.

  • hehe, i played with my behringer and it night not be a floyd, but i can whammy up very little but its just enough to get it there. hehe. i just kept pulling it up every now and then and i'm guessing thats why. or just push down on the bridge, should work maybe.

  • ive actually had played a guitar with floyd rose , and it was pretty confotable =B , but well to tune the guitar it might be pretty complicated XD , that is true =B

  • Not complicated at all i tell you ; )

Only when you are putting new strings on ;p

  • Man Ibanez Tremellos are comfy and easy to maintain tuning...

    Floyd Rose is tough man!

but hey, Schecter guitars are great all around!

  • snap dude :(

  • @a7xsyncalvo they r pretty cool but they suk shit to maintain i just paid $180 today to get some repairs on it.

    but otherwise they kick ass

  • thanks...this helps a lot

  • this is the worst lesson ever!

'the 1st 5 is the diver bomb, the rest just out'

    wtf was that?

that is the worst word i ever c!

  • wtf r u talken about that was completly understandable r u that much of a posser to not get that

  • I have the Damien FR. also!!

  • wtf wz that dude ur bad at this shit!!!!

  • what guitar is that?

  • schecter damien fr. pretty sure

  • lol i also have that guitar :D

  • thats my guitar lol

  • i got the same guitar damien fr

  • it'd be better it you explained it while playing, and showed it in slow motion or something. Words doesnt explain enough.

  • its simple

do a natural harmonic and use the whammy bar to make the higher sounds

  • oh I got it now.. I can do the harmonic now, I just have to wait for my new guitar :(

  • This sounds WAY different from Syn's divebombs.

  • thats becuz of many things number one is : synysters guitars have invaders, this video was recorded long time ago with emgs, and he has alot of preffesional equipment, while i had at that time, a schecter damien with emgs and a real shit amplifier, besides this is how the beast and the harlot divebomb is done live not, in the album

  • Well, I'm still confused as to how you did it not using Pinch Harmonics. Everyone says that you have to use Natural Harmonics, and unless I'm doing them wrong, which is unlikely, because how can anyone screw up somethig so simple to do, then they just won't work. I don't know. I'll just stick with using pinch harmonics to do mine. It's easier and sounds better.

  • Why not just use a PINCH HARMONIC and use the whammy bar?

  • because when you dive bomb the note is supposed to ring out for a while, if you use pinch harmonics it wont ring out as long believe me i have tried

  • Well, then, how else would you do it?

  • And obviously something isn't right here because it sounds nothing like the one in the original song and if you watch the way Syn does it in his instructional video, he does use a pinch harmonic.

  • The guitar you try it with, and the amp you run it through has allot to deal with it as well.

  • Syn Does NOT use a pinch, trust me. You can hear the difference between pinches and natural divebombs. He uses Divebombs. He talks about the note being learned from the Pantera DVD. Dimebag Darrell was famous for Divebombs. Okay? You "can" use a pinch harmonic, but it's not as good. With the naturals, you can get some grit by not tapping the harmonic as hard.

  • I still don't know how you're supposed to do it if not using a pinch harmonic.

  • You do a natural harmonic. You can either pick the string and whammy the harmonic, or flick it then hit the harmonic. I think the problem is that you have the names mixed up. A Natural Harmonic is the kind that is done by slightly touching the string, picking, and letting go. A Pinch/Artificial Harmonic is the kind where you flick the string with your thumb.

  • But, how can it be done with a natural harmonic? That doesn't hold out for any length of time compared to a pinch harmonic.

  • And if you listen to Syn do it, it sounds like a PINCH Harmonic. Pinches and Naturals sound completely different, and pinches ARE what Syn is doing.

  • First, pinches and naturals sound near exactly the same, they're the same thing done by different methods. Second, I'm starting to think you really suck at guitar. Third, Syn is NOT doing Pinches. He even says something like, "...and I've known about this kinda harmonic..." and then does a pinch. Then he says he didn't know all you had to do was do a natural and whammy it. You must be out of your mind to think Syn is doing pinches

  • Well, it's just I've never heard of Natural Harmonics before, as my guitar teacher was basically my dad and the only harmonic he taught me was pinch. How am I supposed to discover a Natural Harmonic on my own? I still don't know how to do one. You're supposed to hover your finger over the string, without pressing on the fret, no? And then you pluck the string, no? Well, I do that and it sounds nothing like a pinch harmonic. It sounds more like just a metallic beep or something.

  • Thats IT. it has a far greater note value span than anything else, thats what gives it the ability to let the playier shape the note how ever he/she wants, giving alot of room for ideas, like using your tremolo bar to make it go WOOOOOWWOOO WEEE WOOOO yah.. or even use pedals n stuff, they are fun to play with.

  • Well look up a video on natural harmonics or something. It's the same thing as a pinch, achieved through a different method. Also, not to offend or anything, when you said, "How am I supposed to discover a Natural Harmonic on my own?" I laughed a little, because usually everyone finds them on their own.

  • Well, I typed it in and none of the videos show how to do it to where it sounds like a pinch harmonic, so I don't know what to do, I mean, if a natural harmonic will last longer than a pinch, I'd love to learn how to do it. I mean, I already know how to play a natural, but not how to play it and make it sound like a pinch harmonic.

  • It sounds like a pinch regardless, just minus the vibrato, until you whammy it. You kinda need a Floyd Rose whammy to pull this off, it won't work on a Strat-type bridge.

  • Natural Harmonics at the 12th fret obviously will sound different, but when you get to about the third and fifth frets, you'll hear it.

  • But they're just like a tiny beep or something. Nothing like a pinch.

  • Then you're not doing it right.

    Here.

    After this, I give up.

    ht tp: // you tube . com / watch ?v =wgtZ7oOCmdM

  • Okay, I got most of it, but what does he mean by flicking the string? Can you elaborate? Is it like putting your finger on or under it and just like playing it with your finger like a pulloff or what?

  • Well, I get MOST of it, I just need help explaining it, like what does he mean by flicking the string and I don't fully understand the part about grabbing the harmonic coming back up. Are you sipposed to like pluck the string with your finger, lower the pitch with the trem, then tap on the fifth fret? Help is appreciated...

  • Yeah, you kinda flick the string by getting your middle finger under it, and flicking upwards. Lower the trem at the same time to help you flick it. Then use your middle finger again to tap the harmonic above the fret. For practice, try to get the 7th Fret (The actual metal part), but for a nice sound, go around 3 and 2. For a sweet and gritty sound, go a little between 2 and 3. It may take some practice. You can pick the string and get a similar effect, but it's harder.

  • I figured out how to do it, but unfortunately, I don't have enough gain so it's barely audible and doesn't last long enough. I'm using this little like 8 inch Randall practice amp, solid state and I put this Behringer preamp tube thing on it that has one 12AX7 and it works okay for getting the tube sound, but it doesn't have enough gain.

  • Oh yeah, low gain will always blow, congrats on figuring it out, though.

  • Yeah, I plan on gettign a Peavey Valveking 112combo soon. PLENTY of gain on those monsters. =]

  • its called a natural harmonic!

  • thanks helped

  • no problem

  • o i was looking to buy that guitar is it any good?

  • its pretty decent but u know floyd roses are hard time lol.

  • wa ttype of guitar is that?

  • schecter damien fr
