Nice! Is that an N-model? With the lights under the prop it looks like it. I am learning to fly in one of them. I have been wondering about skipping core i7 and going straight to the next gen (and sticking with an overclocked e8400) but this vid is making me reassess that. With standard timing the core i7 doesn't make sense but your overclocked rig gives an excellent result. BTW - normal approach is 65 to 70 but I guess you were focusing on making the video.

Someone needs to have a video that:

1. Shows FPS

2. Shows the detail level in the game settings. All Scenery options maxed including autogen.

3. KORD with Ultimate Traffic 2 @ 100%

If you have those setting and dont get below 30 FPS....you sir have cracked the problem of FSX

Nice Vid!!! Flaps aren't needed nor required in a single engine small plane unless the runway is short or you're doing a short field takeoff or landing, or if you need to really stop it quickly.. Example.. Parking is very close to the touchdown area and ya want to stop faster.. Don't listen to these guys.. No flap landings are a requirement in flight training.. More wind=less flaps also... Were not talking about heavier aircraft..

Vehicle Traffic is very minimal for NYC so that slider is probably at 20%.

Even with default AI, i have a lotta planes in NYC assuming this is JFK so he doesnt have AI traffic set.

I'm content locking my frames at 22. When I record, they only go down to 15-18 and thats pretty good for my dual core. I get to enjoy light bloom and AI traffic.

This just just goes to show, when it comes to FSX benchmarks, THE CPU IS EVERYTHING!!! The biggest thing your graphics card will handle is the DX10 visuals, so you do not need a beast of a card for FSX. Just make sure your CPU is a true quad core, like the i7, and has been well overclocked to get this kind of performance. And make sure your bus speeds on you motherboard are more than enough for an i7 so there is no bottle necking.
