  • what settings on after effects and final cut pro do you use...please tell, i have been after this affect for ages.

  • That looks exactly like 16mm to me. A tad bit grainy maybe, but otherwise dead-on.

  • so what did you do in AE to get it to 24p? Interpret footage?

  • what was your shutter speed set too?

  • Oh fuck i want this cam ):

  • how do you turn fx7 60i footage into 24p using final cut pro?

  • 48 shutter speeds works best in 24f mode.. but again i have a Canon XH-A1S.

  • how exactly did you convert the frame rate? did you do it in fcp?

  • what lense did u use?

  • how bout the hdr-fx7 vs ag-dvx100b?

  • which is better the hdr fx7 or the hvr hd1000 ? and why ? can anyone help

  • @ROYAL1ARCHIDIRECTO hd1000 1 cmos, fx7 3 cmos, fx7 is better, I have the both

  • looks really good

  • i have Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, do u think with FX7's footage, i can turn the videos to 24p?!

or i should go for an FX1000?!..i feel so stupid!!

  • Yeah, I believe you can.

  • You can simulate 24p using the FX7 by using the manual settings on the camera. Like setting the shutter speed to 60 which will give it a slightly choppy look if you move the camera too suddenly. There is no shortage of articales on this subject.

  • Dude, the default shutter speed is 60, it look totally normal. But if brought down to 30, its to choppy.

  • hey man! this is the clearest HDR-FX7 test i've seen how did you set it like that?! i still don't know if i should get a fx1 or fx7 you got any reviews for me or anything?!

  • fx7

  • fx7 has a superslow mode like 250 fames per second its better then the fx1

  • it's actually 240 FPS. but, it's not 240 FRAMES per second, it's 240 FIELDS per second. that is 120 FRAMES per second.

  • thats still good

  • did you just color correct or was there other effects? and what are they

  • definitley cc theres a "fake cinema mode" on the fx7 too

  • awesome

  • very beautiful colors u r using

  • What lens are you using?

  • nothing special....just the factory stock lens

  • @jord5280 How did you achieve this look on Final Cut?

  • Love the color and the shallow DOF. What size sensor does the FX7 have?

  • 3 1/4 inch cmos sensors

  • how do get the audio 2 sync up if u convert to 24p

  • hi jord, what fileformat did you upload this to youtube?

  • i believe i uploaded it as a quicktime movie file

  • and the resolution?

  • resolution was standard 16:9 ratio widescreen at 720 by 480 ... saved as the format of photo jpeg

  • thanks a lot :)

  • What formats does it produce?

    HD? DV? DVCAM? ...etc.

And which VTR are you using for it?

  • what editing software are you using

  • Adobe Premiere CS3 and AE CS3

  • superb highlights and colour control. I would love to see the original footage you shot. Am I right that you have to change the 24p footage in post to view it correctly?? Also, can you go slo-mo in this mode?

  • you are correct in that you have to change the footage into 24p in post.

It is possible to then take the 24p footage and expand the time remapping on it...

  • thanks for sharing that, that does good

  • gosh that looks great! i mean this 35mm dept of field "effect" you have extra lens or you did that only with the cam and software?

  • no extra adapters or lenses used...all done with camera and software

  • hello jord!

how you put the vignette effect to the movie?

  • the vignette effect was actually done in After Effects. All you do is apply a solid black layer over your comp and take the ellipse tool to create a mask on the solid layer. then with the mask made, all you do from there is feather out the edges and it is good to go.

  • wow that looks really good. i got the fx7 but i as far a as editing goes, all i have is final cut express. do you know if your method would work with that?

  • AS long as your software has a plugin or preset that can interpret footage such as 29.97fps into 23.976fps, it should work fine. For extra detail...look into changing the gamma levels in your clip by adjusting the levels and curves of the footage.

  • ok thanks

  • looks pretty good
