  • Wow. Very nice

  • Amazing, just became a fan!!

  • I have watched most all of your videos; man, you smoke on this one!

Sincere thanks for all the excellent posts; huge resource for those of us whom "struggle"!!

  • Really like this video, good job

  • I can't get the right rhythm for the part where you hammer on the G string 6th fret. Any tips? I've watched tons of vids, read countless tabs, and have messed around for days. I can't get it right. I'm talking about the part at :24

  • u are amazing

  • You make that look really easy! I'm curious about which part of it you found the most challenging to play?

  • @Stewdogin1 The hardest part is just memorizing when the changes come, e.g., When does it go into a chorus? How many times does each part repeat?

  • Finally figured out who you r lol....NUNO...??????zzzat yoooooooo..amazing is alz i can say...whewwwwwww,,can't attempt that..but f'ing love this song ~ <3...the name of the band was originally X dream and uh...CBS bought the rights and put a tv show out that only made 3 episodes..the "Exterme" was born ...paid for the album they got from cbs's $...ya dig

  • Bloody Fantastic Privettricker..Any chance you could do a vid on "Its The End Of The World As We Know It" by REM..It would be very appropriate seeing how 2012 is only a week away :0 }

  • As I view this video I can't help to think how it reminds me of the style and sound of Peter Frampton's work. Maybe it's just me?

  • great video. is it possible that your tuned down a half step? ...peace

  • @jeffj257 Yes he is tuned a half step low.I just tried to play along in standard and found that out real quick.

  • Gitty-up PT! Had to be quick on the draw for that one. Cool tune and nice to see posted.

  • why buying a 12-string, just steal somebody's :P

  • @ChangesIV Nah, not worth it. Too many strings to change.

  • @privettricker - Curious. You have a Dove. Why didn't you opt for a Hummingbird instead? I'm assuming that the H.B. is a better version of the Dove, or am I wrong? Thanks.

  • @shimokita2 Actually, a Dove is higher up the price scale than a Hummingbird (Dove has fancier inlays in the pickguard). But the major difference is a Hummingbird has mahogany back/sides, while a Dove is maple back/sides. Tones are different, and I prefer maple-bodied acoustics. I've owned a couple of Hummingbirds and might eventually get another one down the road.

  • @privettricker - Thanks. Didn't know that.

  • @privettricker .....i change strings on my 12 string in the same amount of time it takes me to change strings on my 6 string.....its not all that time consuming...plus 12 strings and 6 strings recorded together sound awesome

  • @kelmaur If you can change 12 strings in exactly the same time it takes you to change 6 strings, then congratulations on being the first guitar player in human history who is able to do that.

  • @kelmaur Post a video....unless you take forever to change a 6-string...

  • As always ... you killed it !!!I always figured this song was harder than that and never even thought about trying to figure it out. I always look forward to your videos and even though I don't comment on them all, I AM watching them. I've been playing for around 35 years off and on and you never fail to amaze me or teach me something.

  • Nuno Betencourt, a lost portuguese in the US....Nice guy from Almada (Lisbon)

  • Great stuff as per usual. I have been trying to get this one downfor ages but am having problems with the fiddley bits at 0:28 - 0:30 and 1:34 - 1:37 . Any chance of you doing a very short instructional video on those parts. Oh happy "Rushday" from this side of the pond . If that a no goer, no sweat, thanks for this excellent cover anyway 7

  • Again, well played! Does anyone know if there's a way to play youtube videos in slow motion? Also, privettricker, do you know how to ply the begining of Keep your love alive by Heart?

  • @ejfischer1023 To your first question, I don't know. But there's probably some software that could do that. To your second question, just search my channel.

  • @privettricker I found it, Thanks much!

  • @privettricker I also looked on youtube for a decent tutorial for the intro to Women in love by Eddie Van Halen. Do you know that one or have it posted? Sounds like alot of harmonics in that one.

  • @ejfischer1023 If you go to Vanderbilly dot youknowwhat you can't playback videos in slow motion but if you are trying to learn a progression, there is a loop feature that will play the section you select over and over and over.. I sure wish I could play as effortless as privettricker makes it seem to be! With as many vids as he has up I am surprised that he does not get copy right hassles..Good thing, cuz we would all miss out!

  • @CRAIGARRR Who said I don't get copyright hassles?

  • @privettricker over 1000 covers Dude! I figured that you either get lucky at picking your covers or they just let you be.. I mean what harm are you doing? Taking food away from these starving artists? LOL Yeah right! It must suck doing a video and trying to upload and having it rejected.. If you have any rejected ones still on your HDD, upload them over at Vanderbilly.. They don't hassle people for covers... yet..

You are an amazing player. Keep doin what you do! We all appreciate it!

  • Excellent

  • Hi, I'm new here at your channel.

    Now, after decades of playing,

I have to relearn to play all my

    favorite songs correctly! ;)

    Thanks for sharing, you Rock.

  • Reminds me of magic bus by the who.......

  • Wait, Extreme had more than one song?

  • @warner631 Well played, my friend.

  • Wait, you have like fifty guitars and still no 12-string? You're slacking. On a sidenote: roughly how long would you say it takes you to learn a new song?

  • @statelypenguin From listening to it for the first time to finishing the recording, this one took about 20 minutes. But it's fairly repetitive, so it was more a matter of memorizing the structure of it as opposed to learning how to play the parts. Plus, I had to do it quickly because I was tired and wanted to go to sleep...which is why you see me wearing the sweats that I slept in last night. :)

  • Once again, great cover PT. This tune reminds me of a cross between Little River Band / Super Tramp. The bridges anyway. Maybe it's just late and I'm a little tired.

  • You never cease to amaze. Thanks man for all your videos. You got me playing again after many years. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  • I'll send my dollar (US) too, all the way from New Zealand. Fabulous skills PT.

  • pt thank you so much!

  • What'll you do when you hit 1000 videos? Great work indeed. wb

  • :')

  • I bet if all your viewers sent one dollar, you could buy a really nice 12-string. Not much to ask for either, considering what you do for us. I'll send my buck.

  • @TypicalGirls Yeah same here. Now THAT'S charity.

  • @warner631 This song reached #4 and More Than Words was #1. Jimi Hendrix's only Top 40 hit was All Along the Watchtower. I'd never compare them to Hendrix, but Extreme had two more hits than most bands.
