Pixel King Wireless TTL Triggers (Pre Production) Canon - Review

I bought a transmitter and two receiver kit last week and they work pretty well. I'm using them on a 5D mk. II with 580EX 2 and 430Ex 2. One thing I don't think you mentioned was the flash ratio's are not adjustable in ETTL. No biggie since they are when you're in manual mode.

Occasionally the flashes won't fire after I make adjustments in the camera's menu. I may getting interference from something in my house. Firmware in all units is up to date.

Confused here...the website states that:

Pixel King does not support Canon Wireless function (External flash function setting);

I thought you did exactly this during this video?

Thanks so much for the review! I shoot all manual and decided to give 580exII master infrared a try. Line of site really is a deal breaker if your covering an event and moving around a lot! Being able to change the power output on the fly really would be great. Only thing there is going through the camera menu can be a bit tedious, almost be able to walk to flashes by that point! Are you still shooting manual?

This system does not work with Sony a77! For one the units themselves wont properly function on the camera and even if they fix them to work you cannot use wireless flashes in manual on this camera body. What a POS.

In the camera menu sometimes the option is available 2 nd curtain and sometimes not available.

ETTl the ratio in group A:B, A + B + C I can not set it.

I upgraded to the latest version of firmware Pixel King in RX and TX 10 10.

I am preparing a video demonstration with these failures.

Really find it quite unstable system.

I would appreciate comment on whether the problem is mine or failure configuration of receiver and transmitter.

Hello I wanted to discuss my problem, I have a canon 40D and

have received two units Pixel King receiver and a transmitter unit Pixel king.

I wonder if someone happens the same:

ABC transmitter-L1

(Receiver 1) Channel A in L1 whit flash metz 58 AF-1

(Receptor 2) in B-channel L1 whit canon 430 EX II flash

driving parameters from the menu on camera

ETTL mode in group A+B+C or

Manual mode in group A:B.......

the (receiver 1) does not shoot below 1 / 250.

Will this work like my ATG AK1 Un-Tethered Systems that I'm using on my ATG Canon EOS-1D X IR and Canon EOS-1D X?

Can it provides live-view & control settings wirelessly from computer like the AK1?

@angelisone I have no idea, never used ATG AK1 and the Canon 1DX has not even been released. Best bet will be to email the respective manufactures direct. But with the 1DX still in pre production i dooubt you will get an answer to that part of your question.

I realize the 430EX doesn't work in ETTL, but in the vid it was not switched to slave, so never had a chance :-)

ok i did a quick search and it supports those Canon cameras....

10D / 20D / 30D / 40D / 50Dseries / 60D/ 1Dseries 350D / 400D / 450D / 550D / 600D / 1100D / 1000D

the only place that you can purchase them right now is eBay! if you are in Canada, you can buy them from Henrrys but they are out of stock for one month!

this one could be the best replacement of pocket wizard!

@kundianren I agree, the radio interferance from the 430EX or 580EX EX II speelites is problematic with certain wireless triggers.

@rmphotographynow i asked a guy from Canon the same question, its seems flash triggers have the same frequent level as Radio channels( police radio for exp) .. so Canon must have a Federal authorization all around the world in order to make one...

thats why PW its doing it...

if you bought ur PW from Canada and take it to Euro, it wont work... ( thats what i heard) no confirmation from me yet lol

Wish I had seen this a month ago. Just purchased the Knights. I like the Kings on camera control of the flash settings versus the Knights on transmitter menus which are confusing and cumbersome. Great review.
