  • @skistar123 is reason difficult to learn?

  • @realityexplorations I didn't find it too difficult, and I've picked it right up again - there seem to be an abundance of tutorials on youtube you can use (haven't tried any myself), so you'll probably pick it up pretty fast.

  • impressive

  • sick :)!

  • Where do you gain your inspiration?? Your style is deffinately unquie! but i would call it typical drum'n'bass

  • I get inspiration from many things, like vgm or from bands, although i havent made dnb in over a year now.

  • Sick tune man, i got one question, im getting reason 4 soon, so did u make this song with some downloaded kicks or with kicks that come with reason 4?

    @Song 6/5!

  • Thanks dude!

I think i used some kicks downloaded yes,

  • thx man, can u recommend me some great plugins for dnb on reason 4?

  • well no, reason dont support vst's

  • ok, then which plugins or what ever u use? oO

  • I only used Reason for this

  • Don't forget that you need a controller/keyboard...

You cannot use your computers keyboard

  • there are actually virtual ones that turns pc keyboard to midi keys but its no way as good as the real deal

  • I am doing that right now... hahaha

    Not very good though...

You only have control over playing a note, that is pretty much it

  • bye the m audio oxygen 8 v2 50 pound and it is usb so plug and play

  • I am currently using iTM midi controller for the iPod Touch :D

    Works pretty well!

Just create a network on my macbook or pc if the router is too slow and connect from the application!

Drum pads, keys and X/Y pad

  • there's an option at Reason 4 at options where you click on Enable Keyboard Control and it's kinda that thought... I discovered it just after I bought midi keybboard so I dunno if it's really that :P

:D btw, nice tune, a bit lack of movement but still nice =)

  • I think you are just talking about using the keyboard to control Reason..

As in space is for playback, TAB for the rear rack etc...

  • noes. Go to Options and see there =) there are 2 options related to keyboard. One gets all the screen in a muddy gray except for the rack you have in the selection. gotta read about that

  • NO!!!

It's to control all of the sliders and nobs with the keyboard!

Enable Keyboard Control: Obvious, control reason with your keyboard (you can get layouts online to see what key does what)

Kayboard Control Edit Mode: Same thing, but you can control individual nobs and sliders in each rack.

  • but with which keyb? with the midi? If so, you can right click in the knob/slider and edit it through there =)

  • NICE ON,

  • Whoot! :D

  • Holy shit, u rock man

  • Thanks alot sir!

  • this is sick man

    i can feel it

ive started making dnb beats too

    check them out

  • Thanks!

  • graettttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • thankssssssssssssssssss ssss

  • it gives me the feeling that i'm playing a game :P but its nice original!

  • haha thanks! :)

  • i really like it,

what have u got for fuckin sux woofers when you dont hear the bass ?^^

  • I actually have a proper setup, I just didnt make any bass haha

  • Bass is quite weak...otherwise really good

  • I agree, thanks dude!

  • love it

  • Cheers!

  • very nice! great job man.

  • thanks!!

  • this sounds kinda like a prodigy song at the begining

  • Drum n bass.. So where's the bass?

    Otherwise, great beat!

  • Great arrangement - dnb tune with a feel-good vibe to it....even if the vid starts with the world is a piece of shit lmao

  • Haha thanks

  • this is going on my ipod lol

  • Wow man, that was great!

  • :-D

  • Nice work man! Send me a mp3 ,I need to shake my car! Nice work

  • check the description for the dl spot

  • Comment removed

  • Nice work here.

  • anyone hating on another persons audio softwareis left in 2003, most people now know its not what you use its how you use it!

  • True that, but you can a software with more possibilities gives your more uses, doesn't it?

But take Burial for example - he made tons of music with SoundForge alone. So there's always that too...

  • i have known fruity loops since it was competitor for hammerhead.after a while,it started competing rebirth, and now reason.i think it is constantly growing.and the use of vst plugins is the one that keeps it always fresh.while reason is like a room with doors shut.you cant get out of it and its sounds.only by using another program.

  • for the most part reason's sounds and generators rock and u can import audio samples =D

  • You sound like someone who just started arranging kicks and claps...

You can easily create VST's for fruity. With the generators you can make everything that's been done - it's got all the basics with many times the flexibility of reason. I've heard people not being satisfied with the sound processing, although those people are dissatisfied with reason's sound too.

And every audio software can import samples and the package included sounds are always shit, dude - what planet did you fall from..

  • more like what planet are you from? You think FL and reason are the only DAW's? Of course you will say no, but before raising hell and trying to compare reason to fl (like every other amateur) read into cubase, protools, live, sonar, tracktion....

never ever settle for fruityloops. never.

  • When did I say I only know Reason and FL?!?!?

This started when a guy said reason can chop better than fl (which is plain stupid).

Of course if you settle for one software you're going to have problems, duh. Just the other day one of our country's top producers (eler) said that he would never use cubase ever again, so preferences may vary. My point is - any software can do you good if you know it's upsides and downsides and if it suits your way of working, but for that you have to know them all.

  • Just look at who's trying to evaluate reason - some wannabe that started probably a week ago. He thinks that having better premade samples makes a software better, he's using default fl samples for his tracks and he's impressed that reason can import samples... Catch my drift?!

  • good point good point. But as a side note, you can have all the power in the world and still make subpar music. Talents talent.

  • Well that's a different story right there =]

If you love what you do enough to do it 10 times more than anyone else. then the software you use becomes irrelevant.

  • and that ladies and gents is your lesson for today!

  • lol xD

  • lol XD

  • i think it depends on what type ov music u are making to what program u use.dr dre uses protools and an mpc for his beats, like most hiphop artist do.cant beat that really for quality and timing.fruity loops and reason each have there indervidual sound qualiy and uses.protools , mpc, mixin desk keyboard computer speakers, then fuck reason and fl

  • Bad spelling l2spell stupid. Great song, very good to see other reason users out there making good music

  • Cheers mate!

  • sounds like a tune by dj hazzard, don't knw if you've heard of him, nice tune where abouts do you get the reason 4 demo you mentioned ?

  • Yeah Hazard is the shit

  • nice beat, looking at buying a program myself, using just keyboard and mouse to start off with which is better reason or fruity loops, used my mates fruity and was baffled by it, is reason any more complicated???

  • thanks,

Well reason is pretty complicated and not very beginner friendly,

I suggest you try the reason 4 demo before you make up your mind.

I'd gp fpr reason, its a very good piece of software once you get he hang of it.

although a midi keyboard is pretty good to have if you go for reason

  • Most people that have used Reason moved to FL... Fruity is just more user friendly and more flexible. You can't get shit done with Reason even when you've mastered it - it's so crippled.
