  • Liu Bei was actually intending to rescue Guan Yu in this tv series but never got the chance to. Sun Quan and Zhou Yu tried to kill Liu Bei many times in the post-red cliff period but all the attempts were foiled by zhugeliang. And just fyi, Dong Zhuo was killed by Lu Bu who was killed by Cao Cao.

  • was guan yu executed by caocao or sunquan?

  • @honsam23 Guan Yu was killed by Lu Meng who was a general serving under Sun Quan. However, Sun Quan was worried that Liu Bei and Cao Cao will join forces to elimate him and decided to send Guan Yu's severed head to Cao Cao as a gift.

  • @dynastywarriorlord07 why didn't liubei save him from executed?

why didn't they executed liubei as well?

is caocao killed by lubu and dong zhuo?

  • @honsam23 cao cao n sunquan formed an alliance in the war, killed Guan Yu, Zhou Zhang, and Guan Yu's son

  • yan liang was caught off guard, sneaky guan yu!!

  • Soriya!

  • You know what's great at this version? The realism. Look at this scene, the wind how is raising the dust and how the troops can barely keep the flags.

So i am going to download this version!

  • For real, he only killed Wen Chou, not Yan Liang! He became arrogant later and I started to hate his guts!

  • @arrivederciliebe32 In real History, Yan Liang actually was killed by Guan Yu in the battle of Baima, but not in the same way that was depicted in this video. Wen Chou on the other hand was killed in a proceeding battle, although it was not mentioned who struck the finishing blow. More likely it was Xu Huang or Zhang Liao than Guan Yu.

  • xu huang didnt die in this battle

  • 4:35 is the best part.

  • wth hell Xu Huang was killed by Yan Liang

  • @leo9078 Well, Xu huang was beaten and fell off the horse and then Zhang Liao rushed out and help him, soooooo not quite :3

  • Cao Cao uses Guan Yu.

    It's super effective!

  • umbrella, not umbrealla

  • Song Xian...not Song Xiang

  • Guan Yu:Hhhgwwwyyyyyy Uyyyaa!

Guan Yu: Hey! Who did stat!!

Sniper: (Runs like hell away from Guan Yu!) Oh shit!Oh shit!Oh shit!

  • Throughout the various series and movies like ROTK, Red Cliff 1 and 2, Three Kingdoms Resurrection of the Dragon, Three Kingdoms 2010, and The Lost Bladesman, there have been several selected actors who played the role of Guan Yu. The most notable ones are Lu Shu Ming who played Guan Yu in ROTK, and Yu Ronguang who played Guan Yu in Three Kingdoms 2010. Obviously, the ROTK version stands out the best in terms of emotion and script. But action-wise, I prefer the 2010 version.

  • the best man in the novel was guan yu *_^

  • We are here talking about the novel :) the real story dosen't make sence to us :)

you don't even get alot from it and you don't know the right and wrong from it :)

    i respect it ..

but people are more often to the novel :)

  • BEAT THE DRUMS TO BOOST MORALE! *Guan yu power rises to 100%* *Guan yu uses special swipe* *Yan Liang has taken critical damage* Yan is dead! Victory

  • YAN LIANG HAS FALLEN TO MY BLADE!

  • @MasamuneAzure You are right, but Shu also had Zhuge Liang and Pa Zheng in Han Zhong. Maybe if Guan Yu had Zhuge Liang or Pa Zheng, he may not lost as many as war he did.

However, I agree with you on Guan Yu not being as complete as the novel suggests.

  • @kmc10314 Well Zhuge Liang wasn't that great of a general or strategist. And Fa Zheng's abilities were not known.

  • @MasamuneAzure One thing that needs to happen is that tho, re-evaluation on characters in Cao Wei. So many generals in Cao Wei were underestimated. In the novel, as you know Xu Huang was very underestimated. In the novel, he lost to Yan Liang, and even killed by Meng Da. In history, I might consider him to be as good as Zhang Liao. If you think about it generally everyone except Shu generals were underestimated.

This is the guy that broke siege of Fancheng with his wit and determination.

  • @kmc10314 I love Xu Huang :P . Xu Huang defeated Guan Yu with only a few thousand recruits, note recruits.

Guan Yu was a competent general, but he was more of a frontline raiding officer. If you need a man to charge and lead the vanguard/calvary, Guan Yu was it. But that was all Guan Yu was. His civil, diplomatic, and overall leadership is just poor.

  • @MasamuneAzure

For Zhang Liao, you are right, but then in that war, Sun Quan did not have a strategist and Sun Quan himself was not even a great warrior / general.

I'm not die hard-Guan Yu fan, but as for Guan Yu's defense, he generally had to fight up with Cao Cao's army the most, which had plenty of smart and great generals.

Other generals in Shu either fight Cao Cao with Pa Zheng, Zhuge Liang, or recorded victory against generally inferior generals like ones in Shu.

  • @kmc10314 Sun Quan did have advisers and strategists. Doesn't mean he listened to them, nor can they predict a sudden attack by Zhang Liao.

During the Han Zhong campaign, Wei had several capable generals. Cao Xiu was a accomplished adviser, and generals like Zhang He, Guo Huai, Xiahou Yuan, and Cao Hong. Guan Yu lost to Li Tong, Yue Jin, Xu Huang, Wen Pin, and Cao Ren. Shu generlas at Han Zhong had to deal with equal capable officers as Guan Yu.

  • Guan Yu fucked up hard by killing Yan Liang and Wen Chou.

  • @MasamuneAzure, btw it's good to see someone not just totally believing ROTK, but also look into history. I honestly thing people in ROTK need to be re-evaluated, unless you accept the novel as it is.

  • @kmc10314 I just hate die hard novelist, once a guy argued saying Diao chan was real. And all he did was keep yelling it with no sources, even when i did show sources backing me that Diao chan wasn't real, he still went " SHES REAL!" great job Luo Guanzhong..

  • @MasamuneAzure I really agree tho that Guan Yu is one of the most exaggerated person through the ROTK. In fact, I think in ROTK a lot of Shu generals are exaggerated just because they are Shu generals.

Lots of Wu and Wei generals are really underestimated and underrated.

  • @kmc10314 Novel = Shu is the best kingdom, with powerhouse of warriors and the amazing wizard Kongming. Even thought they lost in the end.

Zhang Fei however was better historically, and Zhao Yun was quite intelligent.

  • Comment removed

  • @MasamuneAzure What you said is true. Zhang Liao was really great general.

I personally think what Zhang Liao better general than Guan Yu. However, usually in all those battles, Wei armies had strategists with them. Cao Ren also had Man Chong when he was battling Guan Yu. It was Man Chong who gave him advices to Cao Ren rather than Cao Ren himself.

  • @kmc10314 Zhang Liao didn't have a strategist. At Han Zhong, strategist = Cao Xiu at most.

Xiahou Yuan defeating Han Sui and Qiang or conquering Liang = maybe zhang he.

Guan Yu did have Ma Liang at one point.

  • @MasamuneAzure Overall when it comes to battles all of Shu general probably recorded less victories than ones in Wei since Wei generals usually had more numbers and more resources than Shu generals

  • @kmc10314 Wei general Zhang Liao, 800, against Sun Quan's greater army. Wei generals battled against yuan Shao, Shang, Tan, and Xi. They had less men, or equal. Cao Cao's generals against Yuan Shu, and Li Jue. They overcame greater odds. So did win even though they were disadvantaged.

Morale, tactics, and strategies are bigger factors then numbers.

Well sad for Shu right, they should have conquered their enemies and not let Cao Cao become the powerful foe.

  • @MasamuneAzure I don't think you can just decide one is great general by the number of wins in the history. If you look at that way, overall none of Shu generals really had many victories unless they had Zhuge Liang on the camp. The reason, Guan Yu probably scored less victory compared to other generals in Shu, is probably he stayed in Jing Province instead of going to Shu. Lots of Liu Bei's generals recorded victory when they were facing Cao Cao with Zhuge Liang or attacking weaker armies

  • @Not victories.. Accomplishmetns, without accomplishments.. how can you base a general on how great he is? That's like going up to a farmer and saying " You have no military deeds, but I think you have talent!" <-- Make Sense? No. It doesn't matter if Guan Yu was in Jing, he had barely any accomplishments thus we CAN'T say he was a better general then those who did more. Plus in Jing, he was defeated several times by Wei generals.

  • @kmc10314 It's true Shu was at a disadvantage, but not by a huge one. Also being at disadvantage doesn't mean Shu will win if they were even.

  • @PhenomKBR

If you are talking about fiction, Guan Yu was good general, yet, he still was not the best warrior like you told everyone. In fiction, the greatest warrior was Lu Bu. To beat Lu Bu, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, and Liu Bei had to come together. In Cao Cao's case, he use 6 general on Lu Bu.

How can you say Guan Yu is the greatest warrior?

  • This scene can also be seen in Guan Yun Chang the movie. The Lost Bladesman! =)

  • You all understand that he was a tall asian warrior, in a land of well asians lol same with Lu Bu or any other great warrior of that chaotic time. I understand you all fight from the stand point of the game. That is okay but not reality. Both Bu and Guan Yu were great men in their own accord. But Bu was more of a drinker, and ended his life as an alcoholic trapped within depression. That was not the case with Guan Yu. Neither were a brilliant strategist within maps and plots, They were warriors

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes Eh~ reply what you want. I'm gonna be the mature one yet AGAIN.

bye neanderthal. Don't forget. You lie about your heritage. look into the mirror and embrace your Nationality.

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes No actually that's how the insult goes. It's not supposed to be that long. It's less funnier if it spreads like your webbed feet.

  • @vonkreger Hey, don't even bother about arguing with asses whom lies about their culture, nationality and race. It's pathetic. He's English and he can't spell, he can't give a proper insult, he know alittle too much about asian culture. What kind of English men does that? It say he's from Netherlands on he's channel, he's just a neanderthal web-footed breed. Don't bother to reply him.

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes really? you want to do this? alright you started it.

Compared with Greece and Italy, Holland is but a platter-faced, cold-gin-and-water country, after all, and a heavy, barge-built, web-footed race are it's inhabitants.

  • I'm quiet happy there was a translation. It was quiet powerful.

  • What's with CRACKAS infesting youtube these days?

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes ahhhh~~~ the goldfish tender speaks and read English. However don't for one second think you're not a waste of space because you are still a waste of space. Get this clear I only watched this video because i'm facinated by Asian culture. how they boast of they're Gods and men. Yet they are the weakest and picked on. To this day. Nothing will ever change mate. you lot will always be wankers.

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes You really have nothing in your life huh? I study law not history, and the term "believed to be" the word believed. It's a very strong and stupid word. A mere human became God because some wanker "believe" it so. I'd say.. You're either dumb or a bloody Jap to be standing up for that historic little yellow gezzer. Bollocks to your believes. If you are a goldfish tender then you lot really deserved that tsunami, quite sadly you lot managed to survive. Really a waste of space

  • @mikaelnigel1

You never heard of apotheosis from the Romans? If you're really went to law school then I guess it's true what they say about where lawyers go in the afterlife.....

  • @sighsgkj Should i really bothered by a 31 years old jack-ass sitting behind the computer doing nothing and worse off is you're in a crap country.

I won't even bother replying after this Haitian. you're 31. Do something.

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes He's not a God nor has he been claimed by any Japanese as the God Of War.

Plus this video is about Guan. Not Nagao Kagetora.

  • me ,grand son of the grannd son of the grandson of the grandson of the grandson of the grandson of the grandson of the grandson of the son of master king Cao Cao like this video !! ,congratulation Guan YU !

  • I HAVE KILLED YAN LIANG AS THE NEXT VICTICM OF BLUE DRAGON!!!

  • to be honest, i donno what the fuck zhangfei did beside the loud voice he made....zhangfei dont have epic fight like guanyu.

  • Omg I had to replay it cause I blinked and missed the part when he died

  • More like the god of righteousness and loyalty, things that go well in both business and war.

  • Cao Cao has a hard on for Guan Yu.

  • 我观颜良 如插标卖首尔

  • What? Xu Huang didn't die there; he was just defeated and forced to retreat.

  • @ApprenticeOfAnubis Still meng da and liu feng refused to sent in reinforcements.

  • yan lian's head so dirty...

  • If Yuan Shao would of killed Liu Bei, Guan Yu might of become a rogue general like Lu Bu and took over China.

  • Yan Liang's head stick on the pole for sale LOL LOL coolest joke ever (><)

  • bwahahaha, guan yu with the OG pose at the end

  • guan yu is my favorite warrior... hope all those wu bastards who betrayed him and liu bei are burning in hell to this day...

  • @ZeroJinKui Damn you Fu Ci Ren and that other guy who betrayed Guan Yu at Fan Castle!

  • guan yu !!!!

  • so dynasty warriors was based on this movie?

  • @d0wnfall25 no, its based on a huge ass fucking play about the three kingdoms. romance of the three kingdoms.

  • IMO, Guan Yu was the strongest, both as a general and warrior, in the whole series. In earlier days, Guan Yu was Liu Bei's top strategist. Also, Yan LIang was kicking everyone's ass before Guan Yu killed him with one attack. In the end, Guan Yu only used forces and resources in his own jurisdiction but he forced Wei and Wu to join forces and they used their top generals(Xiahou Dun, Xu Huang, Pang De, Lu Meng, Lu Xun, etc.,) to do it.

  • @PhenomKBR Too bad Guan Yu got killed in a ambush

And Zhuge Lian is the strategist

  • @PhenomKBR yea

Wei was defeated by guan yu several times

Guan yu captured pang de yu jin cao's chief generals and flooded cao's camps

Wu was jealous of guan yu's victory so they joined forces .. sad

  • @PhenomKBR Historically Guan Yu sucked monkey balls. Joking, but he's not so great

  • @MasamuneAzure totally agreed... Lu Bu can always kick his hairy ass

  • @Derinfrekans Lu Bu was a better general and warrior then Guan Yu. Smarter? Well they were both pretty dumb strategically.

  • @MasamuneAzure and I'll have to disagree with you on lu bu being better than guan yu. lu bu's ability to lead cavalry was great but many historians say that lu bu's abilities were exagerrated to make the novel more interesting by Luo since Lu Bu created many conflicts.

  • @PhenomKBR Guan Yu's accomplishments = Killed Yan Liang on a raid, and avoided a natural flood that wiped out yu jin and pang de.

    Everything else was fictional.

Lu Bu on the other hand won a duel against Guo Si. Defeated Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Zhang Yan. And shot a halberd with a bow and arrow.

Lu Bu was historically better, and guan yu was much more exaggerated.

  • @MasamuneAzure if you put it that way, cao ren and xiahou dun's accomplishments are nearly non-existent too, but somehow they made it so high in the ranks.

Also, even when Guan Yu surrendered to Cao Cao, he was given a rank as a general higher than ones like Yu Jin, Xu Huang, Yue Jin.

And there is a record that Cao Cao says that Yan Liang was so fierce that he regretted killing Lu Bu, but he thanked the heavens for having Guan Yu.

  • @PhenomKBR Cao Ren had many accomplishments, Xiahou Dun was a poor general, but was trusted by Cao Cao. Dun was a capable govenor that helped form the foundation of Wei.

Guan Yu was not promoted higher then other wei generals that you said. I don't know where you got that from.

Alright, so your basing Guan Yu's greatness by what the SUPERSTITIOUS chinese said bout the times and not his historical accomplishments?

Can you pm me your sources or these records?

  • @MasamuneAzure Just like Cao Ren and Xiahou Dun, Guan Yu played an important role in forming Shu. He's the one who supported them from behind and kept what they had safe until it happened.

And Guan Yu did have higher rank when he surrendered. If you research harder, it's right there although it has a lot of limitation if your only language is english.

  • @PhenomKBR again PM ME your sources. Atleast tell me the title of your source like SGZ, ZZTJ, Hanshu, Rafe's Tomb!?

  • @MasamuneAzure There is no way I base my judgement on superstition. I simply pointed out that people of THAT TIME considered Guan Yu to be the greatest, people like Cao Cao, his strategists, etc., I don't base my judgements on superstition. I find it funny that you think you know better than people who actually knew Guan Yu at that time. I think Korean, Chinese, and Japanese ROTK researchers would really love a talk with you since you know so well.

  • @PhenomKBR PEople DID NOT think he was the greatest. His ascension to the title of a GOD and people praising him CAME AFTER HIS DEATH and in the Sui-Tang Dynasties. Show me proof that shows records that says Guan Yu was the greatest from Cao Cao's strategist or whatever. east asian researchers will judge their knowledge and insight on actual accomplishments. Not what other say about them.

  • @MasamuneAzure i'd give you all the proof but to be honest, i don't think you can read korean nor japanese. And its really stupid to argue about rotk in english because i know how shallow knowledge about it can be in this culture. everyone's entitled to their own opinions and i respect that you can be rotk grandmaster in youtube but i only stated things from credible sources.

  • @PhenomKBR That doesn't help you. Seems to me your avoiding on giving me sources. I'm not some grandmaster alright? Your making these claims on Guan Yu which I rebuttal. And if these sources are so credible, why are they not in Chinese?? Do the Koreans and Japanese know everything about China and refuse to translate their scripts? I am not a hypocrite and I'll cite my source of knowledge. Sanguozhi, Rafe De Crespigny's Tome, Hanshu, and Zi Zhi Tong Jian. These contain the most info on TK.

  • @MasamuneAzure i just tend to be mature enough to drop out of keyboard battle when i see one, that's all. You can think what you want.

  • @PhenomKBR No one's throwing any insults. Excuses i say, excuses. DEBAUCHERY!

  • @MasamuneAzure guan yu was conceited and lacked political insight and those led him to the loss but authors from both version of ROTK judge guan yu to be the greatest overall as a general and warrior. Historically, guan yu is definitely the strongest warrior. many people of the time judged Guan Yu to be the greatest of the era, including cao cao and his subjects. historically, guan yu was even judged to be a better warrior than lu bu.

  • @PhenomKBR People of the time, and authors can judge what they want. But I don't believe others just because they say so. I have my own judgement of people, and back it up with sources. Guan Yu killed Yan Liang in a raid. That was the highlight of his career as a warrior. His only other accomplishment was not being flooded during a natural flood which wiped out Yu Jin and Pang De. Those two are his only accomplishments. That does not make even a great general in my book. Good warrior yes.

  • @MasamuneAzure i based my judgement on what people of that time thought. I think they would know better. Also, if he wasn't so good, why would liu bei even let him defend half of his land, instead of letting someone like zhao yun? Leading a large army is different from being in charge of a small army and a castle.

  • @PhenomKBR Again, show me proof of people of that time say bout Guan Yu. Ughh because Guan Yu was well trusted by Liu Bei and leaving his only powerbase at the time in Jing to Guan Yu was better than giving it to how NEW list officers that only serve him awhile. Guan Yu's work in Jingzhou was poor anyways. Zhao Yun was sent to aid Liu Bei in Yizhou along Zhang Fei and Zhuge Liang.

  • what movie?

  • Doesn't this scene remind you of playing DYNASTY WARRIORS? You ride your horse and all of the troops just stares at you.

  • Yan Liang I have come for your head!

  • wth is this? i expected a little more... resistance from yan liang.

  • Pure Ownage

  • 4:34 OUCH!!!

  • was dynasty warriors a true story please please reply

  • @jak1234567898765432 DW is based off from a novel "the romance of the three kingdom" by Luo Guanzhong in the 14th century based on the real history. The novel is 70% true and 30% false--exaggerated. Let's say that dynasty warriors is more exaggerated just bcuz many characters in the game can't fight, but more of strategists/intelligence type or politics type

  • @kwanhui1990 sooo do u believe its true?

  • @jak1234567898765432 I already answered you. if you want to know more, google it

  • @kwanhui1990 f u cunt

  • @kwanhui1990 Kinda like some of the female characters..Zhen Ji for instance..she never fought. But Guan Yu was extremely respected and very arrogant.

  • Che-e-e-sy.... XD... for a good three kingdom movie rent "Red Cliff" and get the 2 disk international version one... good acting, good fighting scenes... top notch movie all around. Too bad it covers only the battle of chi bi
