  • I never purported to be representative or for that matter "A representative" of soulforce. What kind of attack do you see the soulforce people engaging in? There was no attack. There were only a group of about 10 soulforce members NOT EVEN ON THE PROPERTY of the college and you're having a fit. What is your damage?

  • @lifeattheforge but you were not the person who was representing the student body were you? Are you the class president or something? Why do you have such an objection to a group of people speaking? what is the problem? I think you doth protest too much

  • "Bible College" there's an oxymoron for you.

  • @lifeattheforge there was no 'force' used at all. Soulforce only wanted to have a dialougue with students re: religious views. Why is they SUCH a threat to your school? What's the problem?

  • I think they knew they would get arrested if they went there but they went anyway to make a statement. Christians are hypocrites and assholes and thats all there is to it.

  • I'm a security guard here at Central Bible College. These people asked if they could come. we researched them and discovered they had been hostile at every other school they visited, so we said no. they came anyway. it's a private campus, so we have the right to deny access to anyone. they then became hostile toward us. in the interest of our students, we did what was necessary. they trespassed. they had no right to step foot on our campus. we don't hate homosexuals. we don't hate anyone.

  • give me one example of the soulforce people being "hostile". I don't think you can come up with one example. These activists are trained in non-violence. Hostility is not an adjective that I would describe them at all

  • I imagine that any dissent is considered hostile to Central Bible College. Frankly, many of these strict Christian colleges are hostile to their own students.

  • "The very same people who established ... our government are apparently your most vehement enemy."

Nice try, but no Kewpie doll. The Assemblies of God [parent denomination of Central Bible College]is a Pentecostal sect that was founded in the early 20th century. They couldn't even boast a graduate level divinity school until the 1980's, so to say that they "established our government" is laughable.

  • in addition to my previous comment, we regularly brought out water, and food to the soulforce group, as a gesture that we do not hate them, but simply by the guidelines of our school, could not allow them to be on campus. so anyone who says that we were evil and hateful to them, is ill informed.

  • My God. I love all the people who comment on this, and yet have no idea what really happened. I Attend CBC, I was there this day. Being that we are an "Assemblies of God College" and that in the a/g bylaws, we are not supportive of a homosexual lifestyle, we were not granting them access to our campus, and did not give them an opportunity to speak on our private school campus. What is so oppressive about that? We were by no means rude to them, in fact, we regularly brought out refreshments.

  • No 1. Calling people names like "idiot" isn't doing very much to help your cause either 'liberalchad'. Where exactly did you stop to dialogue with the east bus riders? What was your experience? How did you come to the conclusion that they weren't "interested in a dialogue at all"?

  • As for the comment by stinkyedwards...Central Bible College and many other Christians such as myself are not narrow-minded holy rollers....people at CBC and my church wear makeup and short skirts...legalism is something that I hate very much in the church but the issue of homosexuality is something that the Bible is very clear about...the Bible says that it is a sin...not the worst as I admit many Christians believe...but should not be tolerated as an acceptable practice in the body of Christ.

  • Jesus says nothing about same-sex behavior.

The Jewish prophets are silent about homosexuality.

Only six or seven of the Bible's one million verses refer to same-sex behavior in any way -- and none of these verses refer to homosexual orientation as it's understood today.

In fact, the Bible accepts sexual practices that we condemn and condemns sexual practices that we accept.

  • Brittany, where in the bible does it say to imprison people who disagree with you, which is what the CBC did?

  • As a former student of Central Bible College I am proud to say that the school did not allow these individuals on the campus...I understand that they were very peaceful and are probably good people however I know the school stand on the gay Christian issue...and I agree with it...I personally have friends who are gay and I love them as individuals but I do not like the lifestyle that they have chosen to live...and they know my views on it.

  • Hye Brittany1119...wake up...85yrs ago, the Bible was used to argue against women voting, 45yrs ago it was used to prevent Inter-racial marriage..LOOK it UP! the Bible is a -MAN MADE-story....be an individual, and think like a independent woman..not a SHEEP!

  • I would love to see one single verse that argues against women voting or inter-racial marriage, the Bible does discuss marriage of people of different faiths...but not race!!!

  • I have studied the Bible intensely and I have yet to find any evidence to persuade me to leave my faith and stance on certain issues...now I do not agree with everything the church says. The church is run by men with the ability to fail but the Bible is the Word of God and is infallible. Anything that I believe has to be backed up by Scripture!

  • These guys were arrested for polite, Christian tolerant views, while MSU allows radical Christian demonstrations that harass students? I would much rather be approached by a person of faith who is open minded than a narrow-minded holy roller who calls my wife a slut for wearing a short skirt or lipstick. Only in Missouri.
