@TheHilljac I was not comparing the Amish and Muslim religions, I was talking about the facts, it takes x number of kids to keep up the numbers, and Americans have decided that having more then 2 kids is a "lot", and the Amish have like 10, and that is a "large" family, and one of my uncles had 17. Did you not watch the video at all? I should have to explain it to you at all. As for the Amish, yes they are a Christian based religious cult. The Muslims do not bomb everyone as you would suggest.

@jamiebellwolf I am not "inbred", but that is also not true that the Amish move around that much, in fact the community I was from married 2nd cousins, which I would consider inbreeding. However the my parents were not that close as some of my friends and relatives... (my own sisters married their 2nd cousins)

@juditK2007 My point is that with most people having 2 kids, over a few generations, their people die off, but you do need more then 2.5 kids per family to keep the earth populated with your kind, I was the youngest of 11 kids, and have 4 kids, and no I have no desire to have 11 kids, but the point is still valid, the Amish are growing by leaps and bounds when compared to the rest of the population.

They are now growing at 4% per year, and roughly doubling every 20 years. The rest of America is in decline. Our population is now only growing through immigration, and our birth rate, including the phenomenal growth of the Amish, is 13.5 per thousand.

I live in an Amish Community and that's how a lot of them talk. It's just their 'accent' I guess, just like a southern, or New Jersy Accent.  And yes it is possible for an english outsider to join the amish community. They just have to give up all the 'worldly' things. Amish today are becoming more modern, so not everything would have to be given up.
