  • Lord Penrhyn actually use to own a lot of the slate quarries in Wales, especially in Bethesda which is where this choir is from. Thats where they took their name from I believe. A lot of the Welsh choirs origionally formed in the quarried. Cor Penrhyn major claim to fame (besides being awsome people!) is one of the oldest choirs in Wales

  • Does anyone know where the name Penrhyn comes from - I understand it's Welsh - but would like to know what it means and where the choir got it's name from - Beautifully sung

  • I prefer to here Welsh male voice choirs unaccompanied and this is powerfully executed, thank you so much.

  • In 1946 our (Dutch) choir sang this (and other hymns from The German Mass) in Dutch; later in Maassluis'MV Choir we sang it in the original German language. I really do like the Welsh choir singing it in Welsh.

    Very nice.

  • this isn't German or English. what is it?

  • The language of Heaven...... WELSH

  • How did the Penrhyn Choir get it's name - It obviously gets the name from Wales - but what does Penrhyn mean and where does the choir originate from? Any ideas?

  • Ardderchog hogia!
