  • Thumbs up if you're listening in 2012!!

  • I know this song is a late 70's song but man alive, it sounds just like an 80's style of song. I remember hearing this song way back when it came out but remember it more in the 80's especially when it was played at the skating rink! This song is just totally awesome! It has such a great sound that makes you just want to get up and move! Skating to this song was like magic! I could skate for hours to this song that is just how great of a song it is! I love it! I sure miss those days! The best!

  • @thecarebearhideaway

How did I know you were a roller skater? I remember skating to this song as well Carebear! Oh, those days! TIME MACHINE NOW!!! Calling all 70's & 80's lovers to unite and get it done!

  • @n8tureboy Hahaha N8! Well I was quite the roller skater back in the day. There was nothing like skating to those 80's songs and really awesome 70's songs too! I know N8! We have to get a Time Machine going here. It is time. We have waited long enough! All us 70's and 80's fans need to come together and put that machine together and head on back to the place where we were all most happy! Awe... what a day that would be huh? :-D Paradise N8...Paradise! :-)

  • This song would come up on my Ipod on the way home from work. about half way through the song I would look down to find my self doing 110mph. Now I have never received a ticket while listening to this song in my car, but I have to remember to take my foot of the gas and let the cruise control take over when this song is on.

  • this song never gets old

  • there is a video on xtube of a chic masterbating to this song while she is driving down the road

  • An awesome taste in music brought me here

  • WOW! Great song! 1978 My daughter Jenny was born (named for my Navy pilot's Dad's mom, and it's the song the pilots fly to on the PBS Special "CARRIER"! "Pappy" loved flying, and he loved the Navy, loved serving our great country!

  • Thumbs up if you're listening in 2011!!

  • Boogie Nights!

  • what a cool song... even after all these years.

  • feathered hair, french-cut tee shirts and jeans, 'blue jeans' perfume and bonne bell lipstick...oh yeah, and this song...perfect soundtrack for a little vixen-to-be!! lol!!

  • None better

  • Sniff n the tears, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Aerosmith, The Cars. Put the music of the 70's up against Lady Gaga. No comparison. Poker Face vs. Go Your Own Way?? Really??????

  • @bixby9797

    GAGME, I mean Gaga.

What a tramp that little wannabe is. Her "music" insults any rational persons sensibilities. Sorry, but I just had to rant!

  • Toller Song

  • The best song ever.

  • thanks for the post...good taste is universal.

    Tom Loughlin Jr Utica NY

  • my kid said "i wished i grew up in the 70s".

scored a bunch of points with me on that comment.

  • the # 1 song on my 70s music

  • Thank you for posting this song kahke! one of my faves from this era and one of those lost songs of the late 70's that's hard to find.

  • brilliant posting i must say, sounds crystal clear.

  • The correct name of the band is Sniff 'n' the Tears. FND

  • Then go to Paul Roberts.com..........and find out what an artist he realy is.....amazing.

  • I had a '76 Vega hatchback. My friends thought it was pretty funny till I dropped a 300hp 327 in it, then they all really liked it, Imagine That!

  • @zfunishere1 Hey I had 3 of them Vegas! I had one 76 GT Wagon I put an all aluminum Buick 215 V-8 in (back in 78) a 75 hatchback with a 350 / 350 hp small block (back in 80) and a 79 "Monza" wagon (set up in "drag") to look identical to a 76 Vega GT wagon (back in 97) with a blueprinted aluminum 420 hp / LS7 motor & had all the Cosworth goodies --- ALL "screamers" and NO laugh when they would blow by 5 litre Mustangs and many Corvettes! The LS7 was the sickest screamer of them all!!

  • one guy here is sniffling thru his own tears

  • "The song has been interpreted as an ode to the joys of driving, which of course it isn't. The idea was to describe the fragmented, conflicting thoughts and emotions that might follow the break-up of a relationship."

  • Hey guys...I know you are laughing about those cars from way back....Vegas, Pacers, Gremlins........but these are hot collectible cars to the younger generation now.....probably worth more than what you gave for them.....Hope this doesn't ruin your day. Love the song and this was a great video layout.

  • man, that guitar riff still gets to me. give me a summer night cruising and this song anytime.

  • Oh ,By the way I drove a , custom ordered Chevy K-10 4x4 pick -up that I ordered from Billings Chevorlet in San Jose Ca. @ the time this song came out it was 2 years old already. It beat the hell out of a Pacer any day. Sorry about that 19hoops81. P. S. I still have that truck!!!! Lo-lyf

  • you haven't lived till you heard this song blasting the speakers out of my AMC PACER t-top.....I jokes about the car, but the song rocks nonetheless.

  • @19hoops81 You had a Pacer , Ha ,Ha, my stepsister drove a Gremlin . Don't worry about it ,we all drove P.O.S.'s @ one time or another . Lo-lyf

  • @Lolyf55 lol remember those pacers? haha. I hated those cars as a kid. Every time we saw one it really urked me. I HATED the rear end of them... XDXDXD

  • I have this album...i was 14 yrs old when i got it from a dis jockey at a radio station..

  • This is going to be the theme song when I make a video of my 65 mustang :)

  • I have this song on 45. Love it!

  • Memorable scene in "Boogie Nights" when this song begins: Floyd Gondolli (Philip Baker Hall) walks through the front door of Jack Horner's (Burt Reynolds) home to meet w/ Jack & The Colonel James (Robert Ridgely) so they can discuss their roles in the future of the porn industry. As the guitars come in, Floyd enters & smiles as he sees one of the two men he's about to talk biz with and declares, "The Colonel..." :)

  • A favorite song of mine when it was released during my Senior year in high school.

    Cupertino, Ca.

  • @supersix54 What a great time to be in H.S. .. the music during those years.. i'm sure u deeply appreciate the timing of your arrival in that era (i'm 11 yrs behind u & have often traveled in my mind to the 70s .. i was there but i woulda loved to have been a lil older :)

  • This is one amazing song!! It just rocks!! This song takes me back to days of true happiness and innocence. I miss those days. My heart just aches for those days so much. What a time that was! Never to be forgotten! There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame. At least we can recapture some of that magic when we hear this song. Missing those days but hold the memories in my heart forever!! ♥♥

  • how does anyone confuse this song with a lennon song unbelievable

  • Coast to Coast AM Bumper Music Songs!!!!

  • I thought this song was hilarious when it first came out. "Jenny was sweet - she always smiled at the people she meet"? and that tragi-comic basso near the end...

  • Did John Lennon produce and or write this? AWESOME TUNE

  • Time to go for a spin in the Ferrari now.

  • @LeBigMoneyShow - you have a Ferrari as well!? lots of YouTubers have Ferrari's... weird, eh!?

  • Was so great !

  • I just heard this song on the radio for the first time and thought they were saying 'privacy'. So I looked it up and a micheal jackson song was all I could find. Thanks to WCSX for showing the recently played songs on their website. Now I clearly hear the words 'drivers seat'.

    great song...

  • Wonder if John Lennon ever heard this song...as we near closer to 12/09/2010 (the 30th of his death)?

Give a thumbs up if you once thought this was a Lennon song?

  • @bucky468 hahaha;-)))

  • @Choefoe Dumbass me...the 30th of John's death was 12/08/2010. It was this past Wednesday. The time this song came out John was semi-retired. But it still sounds quite Lennonesque...don't you think?

  • @bucky468 No,sorry, never heard any Lennon in it but that,s just me, maybe a lot of people agree with you ;-)

  • @Choefoe I said it sounds a little bit (not a lot) like Lennon, never said anything about him singing in it or having any involvement, which he obviously did NOT. I was just suggesting that there are people who might mistake this song for a song by Lennon and never heard of the name Sniff "n" The Tears. Take per se the younger rock fans who like John Lennon might like this. I also said when I was young I always thought this was Lennon.

    R.I.P. John, October 9, 1940 - December 8, 1980

  • @Choefoe I was also trying to say this is a song John probably appreciated quite a bit. Sniff 'n' The Tears were English just like him. While he was in retirement or pondering about making a comeback back in 1978-79 he was probably enjoying great songs like "Driver's Seat." I know this is a Sniff 'n' The Tears thread but I just thought I'd remind everyone here that it's been 30 yrs since we lost JL. I don't think there's anything wrong w/that.

  • @bucky468 Nothing wrong with that thought at all;-) sorry I laughed before, just a reflection, guess because of the fact when this song came out I knew it had nothing to do with Lennon.

But you can be right;-) I know for a fact he liked "your song" from Elton John and NY Mining disaster from the Beegees, just 2 example s

    Cheers

  • i just heard this on the radio memorized the chorus looked it up right here on youtube yeah good song

  • GREAT MUSIC!!! When Rock Was ROCK!

  • I actually picture myself in a fighter jet while listening to this song...flying through the air and dancing with the clouds. I got the flying image from the episode from Nimitz called Controlled Chaos it starts around 8:15 with the plane taking off.

  • Too many cameras, too many fucking cops, too many chicks and drunken idiots....

Nailing it, is just so much more difficult these days....

Although this song feels more like a cruse to me, guys.... :-/

  • My VERY fave driving song-it always made me hit the gas, but the cops never grabbed me! And yeah, there's nothing like gunning the car on the freeway on a hot Saturday night, windows down, your woman as co-pilot, this song blasting!

  • Fantastic song!...really great music...
