Ultimately, in the EAGLES case, for musical history, despite perfection causing stress, they individual members are/were the collective artists that made each album fantastic in it's own right. The people who hate the Eagles do not know good music, at least not very well, that's a given
@cbarrett34 more original than timothy or walsh--if your going with that line you can say jackson browne and souther were eagles so where does it end---he is original in my book
@iceaxe56 true, walsh came in in 75, schmidt in 77. but the only true original Eagles were, Henly, Frey, Leadon and Meisner, from 71-74 when felder came in. they had 2 albums before felder joined. 1972's Eagles Self Titled and 1973 Desperado
@cbarrett34 Dear Cbarret34, I have made a mistake. Good Day in Hell was on the third album and not the first as I implied, thank you for correcting me. Anyways, go wash your mouth! I think your parents wouldn't have liked to see you agrue that way. Sincerely, Mewsical.
The Gods, Henley & Frey, fired him according to his book Heaven & Hell. Not so much a personality clash, although as in any band there is a whole lot of that going on, as a clash over money and power. Who had it and who wanted it. Too bad as Felder is irreplaceable.
That's his story. I'm sure money wasn't it. Rumors from everywhere is that the band actually get's along without Felder, and some think they were just trying to get him to quit.
@bordo2604 They chose EAGLES to be a musical entity despite the objections, as Felder comments he ralleyed in support for those guys as well as himself, but they knew being in the band was what they wanted most, taking any cuts they were left with from the financial pie
@azdv His one singing debut VISIONS is one of their best hidden gems! He did a great job with lead vox. I comment stil that Steuart Smith should still be made an Eagles member, if he sticks it out with him, but you see he hasn't due to the money involved...same issue as with Felder, Henley and Frey control the Lion's share
I think they just don't want to be one of those bands that changes members every other year, and thought just having a payed guitarist would be sufficient. Henley likes Steuart alot, so I'm sure he's payed handsomely
@carvinrocks2 That's "paid" and I doubt they get paid more, he will not be made an OFFICIAL EAGLE, and this looks to be the last International tour for some time, the fan club reports. Perhaps one more tour Stateside, it's all up to Frey, but more solo albums can be expected
Well they planned this tour as a big 40th thingie, with lots more dates coming next year. They are only touring 5 months because everybody wants to get their albums out and do a few solo shows. They are even talking about another Eagles album, which will result in one more last big tour...
@carvinrocks2 I keep up with EaglesFans on Facebook, they were always trying to criss-cross the Country to report on Eagles live shows, I did get to see them in 2008 or something, back when I lost my job of 16 years, I've been unable to afford shows that spendy. They take time off the road because of family life. It's up to Frey if he's willing to tour. I think if Mick Jagger chucked it in, the Stones would retire as well. Keith Richards will play till he falls over, which can never happen! haha
I flew out to San Diego from Dallas to see him perform. It was a well worth the trip. This guy is not only a great guitarist, but a really great entertainer as well.
...and i hope he comes in in Italy!

@skippiebfree Don Henley himself admitted to Egos, stopping short of the classic pun for the band being called the EGOES! hahaha

Why did he quit the Eagles? Personality clashes?

Walsh and Schmidt are paid employess two. They arent part of Eagles Ltd like Felder was. They are considered Eagles but not part of the company.

One of my ALL TIME FAVS. Mr. Felder will be playing a summer time show in Minnesota. And thanks for all that nasty screaming at the end there! hahaha

Imagine how much better the Eagles would have been if they had let him sing more!
