You can clearly see at 0:31 he's passing the ball with his left hand, the animation just got screwed up, that's why the ball floats in mid air for a second, because it's supposed to be in Noah's left hand, but the animation messes it up. And the game doesn't have a brain, so thinking about what's "practical" is stupid. I've seen the CPU do much dumber shit than that.
