Dear lauren, please help i'm only thirteen but i have really bad dark circles i don't mind going to school without them covered but at weekends i do. I can't seem to find the right concealer, i have dark skin so find it really hard to find one that covers and doesn't look ashy :( also concealers tend to crease A LOT under my eyes and i don't know why? I have a hard time making friends. You wouldn't be able to tell because of how crazy I act, but I am very shy around new people. When I'm at school, I always stick with my three closest friends, and have a hard time talking or expressing myself to new people.
@ThReEdAySgRaCeInSaNe I was the same exact way. To be honest, I could if I wanted, act crazy in front of strangers too - but that looks cheap because so many girls do that for attention now days. (At least where I live.)
I think silent and mysterious also has a certain charm that's attractive - more to down-to-earth guys than childish or superficial ones. Anyhow - I just had to literally live like I didn't care to get over that, and after the first year, I didn't have that problem anymore! :)

The girl with the boyfriend trouble.....if they go out just sit there when the check comes. You just pulling out your money and paying it like its expected is just making it look like its ok. Just sit there and dont touch the check. or have him walk up to the ticket booth and order the movie tickets. He is mooching off you and he has money. thats ridiculous but you paying for it is just enabling him thinking its ok. he wants to go out then he can pay
sorry if this has been suggested but in answer to the tattoo question, if the design works why doesn't the person get a small part of their tattoo and then gradually build on it every few years then even if they regret it, it won't be as huge.
I love that you didn't just go "I dunnnooo, whatever you thiiinnnkkkk" about the tattoo question and the makeup question. Drives me NUTS when people say "Just do what's in your heart" when people ask for advice.
My answer to the tattoo question!! Do NOT get one unless there is a personal reason behind it. If it is something that you like now like a cartoon character make sure that is one that you will like forever... Check for the licenses and cleaning machines. Ask for pics of their prev works as well. If you don't feel comfortable when you walk in then I would not do it!

If you really want a tattoo wait 5 years and if you still want it as much as the first day then go ahead and do it.. I have 3 small ones but in hidden places and they have a special meaning to me so I´m okey wearing them because they remind me things I need to remember every day.

For the tattoo question - I haven't any either (since I'm underage) but I am considering having one, and I definately agree with Lauren's points, maybe consider having one smaller, maybe over lower back where it would be hidden in most dresses etc, but you can get tattoo's that have been "watered" down, so they can fade after 10+ years, I'm not a 100% sure on that, but do a lot of research, and maybe wait a few years and if you still want it done, GO FOR IT! =D

In the studio where I got my piercing there was a poster on the wall saying "If you like a picture, put it on the wall, not on your body". Tattoos should have meanings and one should be abolutely sure, cause it will be on the body for the rest of the life. So if she likes the design and isn't sure about having it tattooed, putting it on the wall or somewhere else would probably be a better solution, than having it on her back.
@Inkhearted85 I was just about to suggest this when I read this! It would be really neat if they put it on their wall as a mural or had someone paint it into a picture for them. That way, they would get to enjoy the picture without having it forever.

dear lauren, i have really oily skin on my t-zone which is strange because everywhere else is dry; i even have eczema. as soon as i wash my face, in less than five minutes it's all oily again, and it bothers me especially when i want to wear makeup as it slips and slides and before i can finish i have to wash it off and forget about it, just wearing eye makeup. please help :(
@EijiFan7 i have combination skin, almost like yours. I'm starting to use Peach Sake range from Skin Food, a product from Korea. I'm not sure whether you can find it or not in your country. It does help to reduce the oil. Maybe you can try that as well...

Dear Lauren, I'm worried about all the dark colors that you suggested for the girl with freckles are you sure she should wear such dark colors? She's very young you know.
For the tattoo question, my advice would be to get the design painted on a canvas rather than your back. My sister found a beautiful tattoo pattern that she really wanted to tattoo on her back, but then asked the tattoo artist if he would just paint the design on a canvas, and it is now hanging in her beautiful and it looks great! It is a way to use the design you love without having to doing anything permanent.

The one about the tatto: Don't do it!!!! Got one when I was sixteen on upper right back, Halloween night, ....you get the idea. The only reason I haven't gotten it covered up with a new one is because I rarely see it. Had to make sure wedding dress didn't show it.....just think about it at least.
A back tattoo is a huge investment, so it's a perfectly legitimate question for someone to ask themselves. She didn't specify whether she has other tattoos, is afraid of the pain, etc. I think the best thing to do is to visit a local tattoo shop, especially one that is recommended, and look through the artist portfolios. Find someone who has a style you like and arrange a consultation. They will answer questions and help you assess if you are ready for a tattoo.

Lauren ur artwork is top notch! I just wanted to say though & hope u will pass along, a comment about freckles. I have them & I am 36 so Ive learned tricks. Corals & pinks are actually lovely & work well with them all over the face, but plums & burgandys like u said do not, they wash us out badly. A good mineral powder foundation is great if u like them too. Rusty brown or matching the color of them is actually good to compliment ur overall coloring.

I'm only 15 and I struggle with some severe acne and I can't find a product that works well to at least slightly cover or get rid of them. I havn't been able to find a good acne cleanser, either. What is a product, acne treating OR makeup, that you would reccomend for full coverage or treatment?
@imOctoberSnow I went to a dermatologist and it kind of helped but it was waaaay out of my price range and made me very broke. And neutrogena is alright, but doesn't help my skin much. Even if it was makeup to even SLIGHTLY cover them would be nice.

Just sit there and dont touch the check. or have him walk up to the ticket booth and order the movie tickets. He is mooching off you and he has money. thats ridiculous but you paying for it is just enabling him thinking its ok. he wants to go out then he can pay

sorry if this has been suggested but in answer to the tattoo question, if the design works why doesn't the person get a small part of their tattoo and then gradually build on it every few years then even if they regret it, it won't be as huge.

My answer to the tattoo question!! Do NOT get one unless there is a personal reason behind it. If it is something that you like now like a cartoon character make sure that is one that you will like forever... Check for the licenses and cleaning machines. Ask for pics of their prev works as well. If you don't feel comfortable when you walk in then I would not do it!

If you really want a tattoo wait 5 years and if you still want it as much as the first day then go ahead and do it.. I have 3 small ones but in hidden places and they have a special meaning to me so I´m okey wearing them because they remind me things I need to remember every day.

For the tattoo question - I haven't any either (since I'm underage) but I am considering having one, and I definately agree with Lauren's points, maybe consider having one smaller, maybe over lower back where it would be hidden in most dresses etc, but you can get tattoo's that have been "watered" down, so they can fade after 10+ years, I'm not a 100% sure on that, but do a lot of research, and maybe wait a few years and if you still want it done, GO FOR IT! =D

In the studio where I got my piercing there was a poster on the wall saying "If you like a picture, put it on the wall, not on your body". Tattoos should have meanings and one should be abolutely sure, cause it will be on the body for the rest of the life. So if she likes the design and isn't sure about having it tattooed, putting it on the wall or somewhere else would probably be a better solution, than having it on her back.

dear lauren, i have really oily skin on my t-zone which is strange because everywhere else is dry; i even have eczema. as soon as i wash my face, in less than five minutes it's all oily again, and it bothers me especially when i want to wear makeup as it slips and slides and before i can finish i have to wash it off and forget about it, just wearing eye makeup. please help :(

@EijiFan7 i have combination skin, almost like yours. I'm starting to use Peach Sake range from Skin Food, a product from Korea. I'm not sure whether you can find it or not in your country. It does help to reduce the oil. Maybe you can try that as well...

the one picture you have done really reminds me of an old black and white movie I watched can't remember the name but a nanny takes on two kids a boy and girl and the boy dies in the end..... excellent works!!!! I did not know you did this and loved seeing it thanks so much for sharing!! I agree totally on the tats too many get too much when young they don't think ahead. I love my tats thought a lot before I got em and not sorry for a one. Something big needs lots of thought. Excellent advice!!!

For the tattoo question, my advice would be to get the design painted on a canvas rather than your back. My sister found a beautiful tattoo pattern that she really wanted to tattoo on her back, but then asked the tattoo artist if he would just paint the design on a canvas, and it is now hanging in her beautiful and it looks great! It is a way to use the design you love without having to doing anything permanent.

The one about the tatto: Don't do it!!!! Got one when I was sixteen on upper right back, Halloween night, ....you get the idea. The only reason I haven't gotten it covered up with a new one is because I rarely see it. Had to make sure wedding dress didn't show it.....just think about it at least.

A back tattoo is a huge investment, so it's a perfectly legitimate question for someone to ask themselves. She didn't specify whether she has other tattoos, is afraid of the pain, etc. I think the best thing to do is to visit a local tattoo shop, especially one that is recommended, and look through the artist portfolios. Find someone who has a style you like and arrange a consultation. They will answer questions and help you assess if you are ready for a tattoo.

Lauren ur artwork is top notch! I just wanted to say though & hope u will pass along, a comment about freckles. I have them & I am 36 so Ive learned tricks. Corals & pinks are actually lovely & work well with them all over the face, but plums & burgandys like u said do not, they wash us out badly. A good mineral powder foundation is great if u like them too. Rusty brown or matching the color of them is actually good to compliment ur overall coloring.

I'm only 15 and I struggle with some severe acne and I can't find a product that works well to at least slightly cover or get rid of them. I havn't been able to find a good acne cleanser, either. What is a product, acne treating OR makeup, that you would reccomend for full coverage or treatment?

@imOctoberSnow I went to a dermatologist and it kind of helped but it was waaaay out of my price range and made me very broke. And neutrogena is alright, but doesn't help my skin much. Even if it was makeup to even SLIGHTLY cover them would be nice.
