Saw the guys open up for Roger Clyne a few years back and bought their CD at the show. I've listened to it so many times, thank you so much for making real music.
maybe a combination of My Morning Jacket and Switchfoot...but I'd say they're more folky than Switchfoot. Much more reverb and ambient guitars, and just general California sounding.
wow when I heard the song I pictured the video to be exactly like the how it is. Beautiful and seemingly-infinite landscape and that road trip type feel.
Just saw them in a free concert in Burlington, VT. They were awesome. They have great stage presence and were more than willing to talk afterwards. Awesome music.
The Alternate Routes are a brilliant ray of hope for American rock. "Time is a runaway" has an infectious and addictive chorus that makes it stand out from most music that dominates "rock" radio all over the US. Incidentally, this song is on high rotation on "Radio Crème Brulee" -- a Boston-based internet radio station that showcases pop music from both sides of the Atlantic. Type "radiocremebrulee" in google, and it should be your first result.
Tim Warren from this band graduated from my high school about 6 years before I did. When I was a sophmore The Alternate Routes played a concert at my high school for 5 bucks. It was a great night and what a great introduction to their music. Back then they weren't as big as they are now. More power to them!!

Good music. GREAT LYRICS. Are the Alternate Routes on anyone's radar? They should have sold a million albums by now.

If a song/artist can appeal to people, even if they aren't too much into a genre as they are with another, the artists have certainly did their part!
