Arlen Specter, faux defector, erector of THE Lie. How insane ya Pennslyvania to give him one more try. Back Joe Sestak 4 Senator.
Specter, author of the "Magic Bullet" in the JFK assassination, committed treason as an accessory after the fact in the murderous coup of Nov. 1963. He is undeserving of a single vote.
I may not agree with every vote Sestak has cast, but of the two, he is a veritable Pericles compared to Specter. Vote Sestak for Senator.
ITS OFFICIAL!!! I now despise Barack Obama more than George W. Bush.1 He refuses to appoint a special prosecutor to punish Bush for his illegal WIRE TAPPING and TORTURING ways.2 He's kissing the asses of 2 bit DICTATORS like Castro and Chavez ,the only thing to come of this is more OUTSOURCING,CHEAP LABOR, and more LOST AMERICAN JOBS.3 He wants to legalize 20 million illegal aliens when millions of Americans can't find work as it is. I can't believe i voted for this " Articulate" LYING HACK.
well most of these 20 millions illegals are already working, chavez lost an election, doesn t sound like a dictator to me, obama doesnt kiss the ass of castro and there is no more torture.
wow. what an incredibly ridiculous argument. You think obama is worse than bush for not punishing his evil deeds. Obama has already deferred this to the justice department where it belongs. obama is spending his time trying to save your sorry ass's economy and health care. You, who can't compete with an illegal alien for a job are more pathetic than you realize. NObody is kissing the ass of 2 bit dictators. You voted for an "articulate" man because you are definitely NOT.
If they run a real democrat next year there is no way Specter is getting my vote, I don't care about all the DNC money he'll get or even the nod from my president (whom I absolutely adore). If we have a real and viable democrat I'll drop Specter like a bad habit. We need generational change. He's done his thing for nearly 3 decades and went against his own party when he saw fit which is commendable, but he's going to have to show and prove he's worth my vote.
A conservative democrat...isnt that what a lot of people want? Isnt that basically what he has become? Hopefully he will keep the respect of the respectful Pennsylvanian republicans & be admired by the democrats for his change of mind. I admire the guy...that takes alot of balls to stand up to ur party especially knowing what kind of mud his party can sling. He had to know that Rush, Hannity, & most members in congress will give him so much hell for not just bein a ditto head & goin w/ the flo
Chris Matthews is probably running this segment to make things harder for Specter, and support any notion of opposition to him in the Democratic primary. Matthews was allegedly thinking of running against Specter in 2010 for the PA senate seat, he probably thought things were going to set up perfectly for him since Specter would have to spend huge amounts in the Republican primary before he faced Matthews. But Specter was one step ahead, and switched parties. Now Matthews dreams are crushed.
Joe Sestak...independent? As one of his constituents in Chester County, I don't think so. This guy is an automatic rubber-stamp for Nancy Pelosi. Who the hell does he think he's fooling? I'd rather see Specter win another term than have this opportunist elected.
I don't have anything against what you said at all but I will point out that calling this dude an opportunist but defending Specter's switch of parties based solely on whether he could win a primary as a republican struck me as funny.
I think Specter will win handily anyone who isn't a total game changer since he's been in there forever and people know him, plus he has the comforting D in front of his name so fellow Philadelphians and Pittsburghians will feel all the more comfortable w him.
I like Spector...he's independent (you can call it being a flip-flopper, if changing your view in light of changing situations is someone not logical...) and clearly very pragmatic (he literally is changing parties because he can't win the Republican primary...doesn't get more clear eyed then that). I think this is the reason Pennsylvanians have voted for him in the past and the reason they'll vote for him again...regardless of his party affiliation (which hasn't meant much anyhow).
thats nice in theory but in practice the octogenarians that benefited the most from fdr will continue to vote for wackaloons that are still doing their best to stop fdr from getting elected. questioning authority assumes some amount of collective intelligence and i think the demise of the school system in the united states speaks volumes for our collective intelligence.
changing one's mind when you realize that you've been wrong is sign of open mindedness. Never changing your view even when it's clear that you're wrong is sign of dogmatic thinking. Flip flopping happens all the time in science. And look at how successful it is.
Dogmatism has given birth to nazism, marxism, christianity, islam etc. I for one am proud to flip flop on issues when I realize that I'm wrong.
Clinton didn't have the support of a SITTING President with sky high approval ratings.
Obama has publicly stated he'll do whatever it takes to seal Specter's victory. That puts the odds overwhelmingly in his favor. Sestak should just chillax or he's gonna get a pounding.
You know I've taken some time to look at little more closely at Sestak (who I must admit I didn't know much about before) and I feel that you may be right. He is a very charismatic and cogent politician.
If Sestak can present a persuasive case that Specter would be obstructive to BO's agenda, then he can (and should) win.
I was put off by the whole 'I never said I'd be loyal....' comment from Specter, and the more I hear from him, the more slimy I think he is.
Obama will take this guy over Specter any day of the week and twice on Sunday. All he has to do is shake hands and wish them both luck and it will happen.

if you take Matthews at his word, he publicly decided not to run long before Specter flipped over & Sestak said what he said.
Basically, Matthews decided it wasn't worth the pay cut.

What will we do? Study, communicate and Vote?
Question authority, expect results, and Vote!

I was saying the same thing about Obama 2 years ago, in regards to him running against Hillary Clinton.
Now Obama is President, and Clinton is not.
On the first Tuesday of 2011, Sestak WILL be the jr. Senator from Pennsylvania.

As the President continues to back Senator Spector, the Unions will not.
Spector is Anti-Union!
Pennsylvania Democrats will deal with Senator Spector accordingly.
THROW HIM OUT!
HE IS NOT A DEMOCRAT!
skynet329 2 years ago
But the unions in Pennsylvania don't do shit for their members in Pennsylvania.
In fact, the unions are more interested in helping immigrants - legal and illegal - than doing anything for their membership.
The Democrats are about the destroy the unions, and they will win because the unions themselves are run by corrupt, naive idiots.
This is Bill Clinton and NAFTA all over again.

"Specter has the support of the President."
I'm sure Obama would be the first to say that it's the voters of PA who will determine who their senator will be.
If I were in PA, I wouldn't vote for Specter under any circumstances.
