I grew up with the forest rangers. I feel sorry for todays generatiton. I lived the Forest Rangers kind of life. I had a lot of freedom growing up where we could disapeer for hours without people freaking out.
A really great show for kids ! The weird thing was that whenever there was a stranger in the storyline, he or she turnede out to be EVIL and couldn't be trusted ! Another good show from back then was Hammy Hamster........explains alot about how I got be this way.... :)
The child actors were not allowed to fly in the helicopter. They'd shoot a low angle shot of one of them sitting in the cockpit simulating take off or landing, but you'd never see them in the air.
It is GREAT to see so many other people who remember, recall and reflect on this series. Can't forget Joe Two Rivers who could talk to the bear though.
XMY556-A for apple, was another call-sign used on the show. My brother and I had a pair of "walkie-talkies" in the mid sixties and used both of those call signs - lots of fond memories!
I can't believe somebody else remembers that call sign too! This was my favourite show as a kid in Canada. I wanted to BE a forest ranger. Bless. I'm defo checking out the fan site. Cheers!
OMG, Forest Rangers, I haven't seen them since I was a snotty nosed kid in England. I'm a snotty nosed adult now (still in England) LOL. Someone, please put me out of my misery and put the entire episode one on YouTube. I would die to see it again. It was a great show and we don't see anything like this anymore.
The Forest Rangers ... a Canadian classic ... Good kids and responsible, intelligent, caring adults .... What the hell has happened to TV? When you compare the values and ideas that are being put out there these days it makes you want to cry. I will never forget you ... Forest Rangers ....
My favorite was Joe two rivers who apparently was not a first nations gent but from Yugoslavia,he had natives coaching him. loved the show it had all the ingrediants that would appeal to a kid.
Great stuff! My mates formed a soccer team in Annesley,Notts,Uk and called it "Forest Rangers",mainly on the strength of the series, where are they now?!!!!

Loved this show. What kind of helicopter did the Ranger fly? Looked like an Alouette with floats.

Always confused this show with Adventures In Rainbow Country. Both great shows but Rainbow isn't released on DVD (yet).

You mean Peter Tully? He deserves better than to be referred to as "the guy who..."
He's part of a friggin' Canadian cultural phenomenon. And oh yes, Michael Zenon as
Joe Two Rivers was as cool as it gets.
