Mine works well and isn't constructed any worse than the higher priced Belkin it replaced. My only issue is that it does not store the frequency you use and defaults back to 88.1 after you've cut the power. Hard to beat for the price.

@bpivr Same thing happens to me on the device I bought off Amazon for $13 which looks the exact same as the one in the video. Wish there was a way to save favourite stations also.

it won't damage your phone :) the reason the message pops up is because the device is not made by apple. I have a sony wanna be ihome and i get the message everytime i doc it. no worries!

For some reason, the charger won't transmit my music to the car speakers. It'll still charge, but no audio whatsoever. The FM stations match, but nothing. Static. What's weird is that it was working perfectly fine a few days ago. Would you happen to know if this thing is sensitive to heat or something? It's been crazy hot where I live the past couple weeks. Any help is appreciated.

If it really works on Ipod nano5g, if you put the iPod nano video, would clip/holders from the sides hold the ipod nano? because the ipod nano's width is not that big compared to the ipod touch or iphone. and lastly, if I wanted to take the fm transmitter at home and listen to it on the stereo and not the car would it work? or do I have to plug it in the car for the fm transmitter to work? if you could answer my questions thank you in advance...I'm about to buy this product..

CONS:

1) Cord on dock connector frays

2) The tabs break off, should'e been made of metal

3) Gray plastic on the charger @ 0:49 rips/crumbles from summer heat

4) Joint on the end of the charger part broke/dislodged itself and since this part no longer is solid with the support of the lighter socket I ended up with a LIMP kit.

Le plus : la connexion à la radio on entend bien le son, L'iphone se recharge correctement, pas cher.

Le moins : 1x que vous raccordez l'iphone au Kit grâce au petit câble fourni, le son devient complètement merdique.

Le câble flexible est dur et surtout très court, pas plus de 10cm. L'iphone reste trop bas pour bien être visible.(GPS)

La fixation a l'allume cigare n'est pas stable en conduite.

i want to buy it but i live in AUSTRALIA and my cigarette lighter is close to the steering wheel (with our steering wheel being on the right).

I also drive a manual car so will it get in the way..?? it looks rather big. to be specific the car is a MAZDA RX-8 dont know if u have experience with this car but the gear shifter is close to the cigarette lighter. how flexible is this device?

Just got mine and tested it this am. Very clear signal. The button on there which finds the clearest stations right away is really nice. Calls for me came through the speakers nicely. Seems that cranked music can sound a pinch staticy, but I have to play around more with finding the best match of radio volume/iphone volume. Nice unit though.

yes you can also use it with the AUX cable and just use this to charge & hold the iPhone, it has many uses!

thats what i do... although the ideal way is to get a head unit which plays the music and charges your iPhone through the dock connector.

The ones I've seen thus far only support charging aswell as playing via ipods not iphone.... :(

I just purchased this and it does work great with music, however not so good with the incoming and outgoing phone calls.

I found myself using my bluetooth headset, so if you purchase the product it will charge your phone, play music great, mute when you have an incoming call.

I found for some reason the incoming audio from the caller to be too low. However this is overcome by using your bluetooth set and this item will really rock your world.
