The guy with the second top comment is such a fucking douche... o look at me i know the name of the drum rudiment im gona correct this guy and win top comment...fucking douche!
@andrewscottgreer Because ignorance is superior to knowledge, right? Someone should not be criticized for possessing knowledge. I highly doubt his intention was claiming the top comment, I much rather think it was to inform.
@VinnyCryst Its just the fact that he adds "Just because Meshuggah played it doesnt mean it lacks a real name." at the end of his comment. I would have been fine with him simply say that its actually called a herta. But the latter of his comment is what makes his cunt side radiate. He seems to be trying to put the other dude down. So, i wasnt criticizing him for possessing knowledge i was criticizing him for being a big douche.
@andrewscottgreer His comment was a good comment. It shows people that Meshuggah isn't the only band to use bass drum hertas and therefore it is stupid to call them "the Meshuggah riff".
@kaakatin I suppose. When i read it just seemed like some kind of " know-it-all" commenting, and i hate it when people are cunts like that. Like i said before, actually educating people about the herta is cool. But the latter sentence of the comment is what really grinded mine and a few others gears.
@andrewscottgreer Well it's fucking true. A lot of idiots seem to think because they heard some band do it that it must be traced back to that one specific band. YOU sir are the fucking douche by your own definition. You were not providing any insight or help, just bitching, so you are a bigger douche. Have a good day, sir.
@Kiryu394 The tone isn't even a good dent. Not to say they are bad players, they are great players, but the tone is just a little too muddy. At least for me.
the more i listen to these guys the less i seem to understand what they do but in turn it just makes me feel like listening to more. so intriguing this band. loving every minute of it!!
@BlackFlagParade Well said ! Besides IllWill beat Haake to it by 10 years. A track from the 1998 album Evilution called Whether with or without watch?v=GPVpsTr33ZI . Haake just did it faster and for a whole song with some interesting herta variations in Bleed. First time I heard a herta and loved it was when Phil Collins planted 5 in the middle of No Self Control by Peter Gabriel in 1980 with that unmistakable tomtom sound of his ( at about 2:02 in watch?v=beQ7YrjLJ2U )
Dudes, this sounds NOTHING like Meshuggah!!!!!!!!! the only thing similar is the tuning, but I don't even think that is similar. They sound much more like Korn, if you're only looking at the fact that they have seven string guitars. I am digging this style, much more groovy than the Djent/Thall bands that are rearing their heads lately. Huge thumbs up!!!
But lets get real, these guys can't touch Vildjarta or Keith Merrow, there aren't many who can, however.
saw this like a year ago and have been looking for it since, not amazing but i definitely like that jammy sound they got going on, kinda like old a life once lost
Nice jam but I hate the term math metal when describing complex arrangements I would call this avante garde metal instead, however it's really cool, kind of a mix of Panzer Ballet and Meshuggah .
i have no clue what you're trying to say or prove...
EVERY band has their influences, even Meshuggah.
and music will always evolve into hybrid styles.
i can hear influences from Ulver in another song of theirs, but that goes without saying... it's a great song enjoy listening to it and quit being a half-ass critic.
I can see you're trying and know how to play your instruments, but most of these riffs just lack dynamics to me. The first riff sounds like something out of a Soulfly or Watcha album and not even the good drumming, decent soloing and bass tapping are enough to make this stand out.
@pumaflieger A negative comment is as important and valid as a positive one. You shouldn't take it personally just because you like the music I'm referring to.
Also, if you replied to my comment, it is because you care enough about it to post a reply. There wouldn't be a comment section on youtube if no one cared about others' opinions.
One of the guys is using a 7, one is using an 8, it seems to me like they're both in standard tuning, seeing as how the 7 is being played on the bottom string while the 8 is played on the second. The bass can also play in the same key with being tuned the same, in case everyone forgot.
this is the same riff over and over...kinda boring. And someone please get the bassist a 5 string, he looks retarded with a 4 string next to an 8 string guitar. I'm not trying to hate on the band but seriously....
@MrSeemby No, not really because he can't really get the low end he needs. He might be in the same tuning but he doesn't have nearly enough low end. Period.
