Lee Morgan is one of the most beautiful people to ever walk this earth, and thanks for posting this amazing set of videos--rare for me to see John Gilmore in crisp, clear close-up.
OK, the name of this tune is LAMENT For Stacy, not Theme. Thanks for posting, Lee sounds beautiful as usual, love his ballad playing. John Hicks on piano, I believe Victor Sproles on bass... Apologies to bluv6, just saw your comments, great minds;-)

maybe you could add "john hicks, piano". thanks for posting such a beautiful and soulful piece. they don't make 'em like this anymore. Gd bless em!!!!
Thanks so much for this wonderful clip! I've heard this recording, but have never seen it, until now. The tune is usually called "Lament for Stacy," and in addition to Blakey, Lee Morgan, and John Gilmore, I believe that's a very young John Hicks on piano and Victor Sproles on bass.
Many thanks for your kind comments. I shall continue to post anything that comes my way. I hope that you have had a look at the series on "Cool" some great stuff there.
this is probably the best messangers video i've seen on youtube. great quality, clear sound. PERFECT close-ups, quiet audience, terrific Lee, etc, etc, THANKS for sharing.
Oh man, this is so cool. Thanks for putting it up on Youtube.
