Thank you and I must say... after waiting 4+ years and then we finally got to see our daughter it was the most powerful day I can recall (besides getting married) she certainly is the light in our lives...
I've watched Gotcha video's for years. I've known since I was 12 that I wanted to internationally adopt, at 25 I am recently married and may have to wait a bit longer before I can attempt to adopt with my Husband. These video's always remind me that why at such a young age I made the decision I did, can't wait until it's my turn.
By the way she is a beautiful little girl, and I am sure now a year later she is even more so than she was then.
She is actually a little spitfire but also the most sweetest, caring and polite little girl... I hope that you can adopt (either way) soon... it is an amazing journey...
@ThePrfkt7 I will admit... the wait is not for the faint hearted... yes, we certainly do have a blessing... she keeps us on our toes... we love every minute of it.
In answer to your statement... it wasn't like a baby market... the kids here were from two orphanages that were 3 and 5 hours away from where they were bought... they can't just bring one baby at a time so that there is 'quiet'... as for intimate/quiet... there is no where in that building where it could be... some kids were scared and some where just soaking it in... you get all the intimate/quiet when you get back to the hotel...
I'm home 11 months with a little boy from Kazakhstan and I too never tire of watching adoption day videos. It was watching China adoption videos that eventually set me on my own path. What a beautiful moment captured and what a gorgeous little daughter. Best wishes from New York!

I heard that it's not uncommon for there to be lots of crying from the baby. Your baby looks more confused than scared. I hope it wasn't long before you got a big smile from your sweet daughter. I'm scheduled to go to China at the end of July to meet my daughter, so I understand the very long wait and the emotions it generates. Insensitive comments do show up and it's usually not worth the battle to try to "correct" other people. Best wishes to you all.
She is doing great.
