You have a really nice railway,my garden railway has only been in existance since summer 2009 but seems to have survived well even during the big freeze when the track and sets of points were encased in ice.So far it has not suffered too much from the weather but I suppose only time will tell how much maintainence I will have to do.Its interesting to see your ballasting of the track and it looks good,is your railway DCC or DC? I look forward to seeing more videos of your railway Phil.
@porter6669196327 Granite chippings applied dry then sprayed with water mister. When damp applied a mix of 60% Waterproof PVA glue 40% water (with drop of detergent to help break surface tension). Let it soak in and spray with water if it is sitting on surface.
So far the weather has not been too much of a problem (track been out for four winters) although there was a little damage in Jan / Feb of 2010 - it was a very bad winter! But like every model railway it needs occasional maintenance.
Still running on good old fashioned DC! I'm impressed with DCC but haven't taken the plunge yet.
