  • Wonderful one <3

    So human!

  • Just when I thought I had heard everything the CT's had done I find this.

    I hope I keep finding them !

  • Just out of this world, LIKE

  • lyrics anyone?

  • @klaxxon78 on the air sleep god like, guess you cant find a good aging, soon should have seen sikiu, su druse cunne, so all the way, skins get ancient in tokyo, seeking an old young yen lady, other than you took too, suse glowbo blow sparkle on us, it's you, its like you never told me, we love the (?) quesque je t'aime in my dreams its you, its what you havent told me, we are.. to accept what others dont need, i doubt it, doubt it, doubt it x2, hold me!

  • It appeared on a Volume series compilation. Wonderful stuff.

  • Ha Ha gibberish. Your fooling yourself. Such Creative Genius!!! Lets see if you can blend your so call gibberish into music and make it seem so real/life like/heavenly or dark.

    AC

  • thank you millions for posting. I miss her voice so much. Went hundreds of miles when she was touring France with the CT. that was 20 years ago and I still miss her voice as badly.

  • I've heard another version of this? The vocals sounded more lyrical and cleaner but in an Asian language?

  • @unholyedsoul Yeah we don't like to talk about her around these parts XD

I mean. what makes her think she can improve on perfection?

  • @rp61wasinnocentok aw, I see.... well can you at least give me the name of the singer? I like the original and the "cover".

  • @unholyedsoul faye wong there is a video here but it won't copy the url

  • Comment removed

  • @rp61wasinnocentok I'm sorry, are you saying that the asian singer who've done this song doesn't have what it takes to sing this song?

  • @louis1990828 No, you're the one who keeps on suggesting it though. Please don't be putting words in my mouth. But I do agree 100% with the 1000's of people who don't aprove of that cover version, along with all the others she's done. Musically there's no difference between them, it's almost like she's saying no this is how it's done, which I find a bit rude. It's just pointless karaoke to me, and like others have already stated, you can't improve on perfection. Subject closed, move on.......

  • @rp61wasinnocentok I didn't mean to keep discussing on this subject or putting words in your mouth. That's why I asked to make sure what u really meant. And my point is, I don't know if you've already knew this or not. The Chinese version was done before CT version. So it's not like Faye(the chin. singer) was so arrogant and did a cover for it. CT actually wrote this song for her. I'm not saying that Faye's done a better job than CT. I'm a fan of CT myself. I just wanna clear this out.

  • @rp61wasinnocentok #But Cocteau Twins made this song specifically for the other artist; they just sung this because they felt like it. So although I like this version better, it was actually for the other artist to sing..

  • @unholyedsoul U search 4 this on youtube -->> Cocteau Twins - Touch Upon Touch (Chinese Version)

Actually the link is right there ------------------->

  • @unholyedsoul that will be Faye Wong.

  • @unholyedsoul This was covered by Chinese singer Faye Wong on an album which included a few collaborations with the Cocteau Twins.

  • brings me close to tears

  • How do you get this track? How was it released?

  • the only thing disabling embedding does is not let people post your vids on Facebook ect..which is a shame...more people would get to hear these wonderful tracks that wouldnt have a clue who the Cocteau Twins were.

  • @sdsuedehead What makes you think people want their videos that are purposely posted to YouTube put on Fakebook? I cetainly don't, it's full of pretentious scum who act like sheep... My vid, my choice.

  • @rp61wasinnocentok

    what an absolutely hate-filled reply.

  • @mxp299l I can understand why someone would say that, thing is I think I was having a bad time up to that day, but that's no excuse. Although if you had any idea what some of us uploaders have to deal with... Again that's no excuse. Apologies all round, and also to you for having to say what you did. It wasn't hate though, that's such a strong word, it was something else, i'm a good guy :)

  • Zjawiskowo... Zapewne inspiracja z Gloomy Sunday.

  • @666satan1 i don't quite understand what you're saying but you're right!

  • Sounds like violet indiana but with liz...

  • How inspired - take a great guitarist and bassist (early personnel changes from Will Heggie to Simon Raymonde aside, the sound just got better!) . . . and front with a mercurial, amazing, passionate, emotional, brave and faultless soprano . . . genius and what amazing work they did from 1980 to 1998 . . .

Respect - no other word can encapsulate!

  • it is released btw

  • @simonraymonde true? I need this release!

  • @birkenowjenn it was on the milk and kisses bonus disc and also on the compilaiton Splashed with many a speck

  • @simonraymonde ok thanks :)

  • just discovered the cocteau twins...I love them..I love this video too...very good job indeed!

  • amazing thank you so much!

  • REALLY Nice song!. Check out the song "YOU" by INOUWEE if you like this.

  • @rp61wasinnocentok jeah wiki is under control of the few

  • niceeeeeeee

  • anyone more is singing in this song?

  • @birdmadgirl1975 Liz often overdubbed her voice more than once. The band said that they wanted Liz's voice to be like another instrument.

  • I am not sure if her vocalizations have anything to do with Glossolalia - which is a Greek word referring to the act of speaking in tongues - a practice of Pentecostal Christians.

Unless Liz does in fact speak in tongues - in which case her usage of that gift without the actual praise of God in mind would be terrible.

Liz gave an interview ONCE where she spoke openly about her "texts" (using the word loosely) - she did not mention Glossolalia.

  • I would have to agree with what you've said,

I think I even saw that same interview.

And knowing the way Liz conducts herself,

I can't really imagine she would go about something of this nature, if she knew it would upset people to that extent.

  • Thanks for the agreement - Liz is a real darling indeed.

  • Are you going to be making anymore Cocteau Twins videos?

  • I already have more which i've wanted to put up for a while.

I haven't done much on my channel lately as I annoyingly noticed some of my video creations being re-uploaded by other users. It's because of this i've now been forced to disable embedding, though i'm not even sure that will stop it.

I love sharing stuff but my enjoyment is somewhat taken away when I see this kind of unnecessary duplication, I say to those people do your own thing.

But seeing as you've asked, new CT upload soon.

  • @rp61wasinnocentok Sorry to hear that. I like your videos so I was just asking. I remember when you first started uploading videos and stumbled on you videos again. Well, hopefully things will work out. Later.

  • @Glorifindal I just googled some of the lyrics for Melonella and they were simply different types of moths.

  • @Glorifindal I think Liz has said her language is purely her own and is earthly and creative in a most harmless manner using sounds and rhyme instead of communicating wiht logic and understanding although she does use some recognisable words- or as my children always said over 20 years- she sings her shopping list

  • @Glorifindal: You are incorrect. According to the Random House Dictionary, "incomprehensible speech in an imaginary language" is the definition, which Liz certainly fits well with. Whether she's ever used that word or not holds no bearing. It is what it is.

  • I'm sorry, I wasn't referring to the title of the song, I was actually replying to 'einsteinessa,' who called Liz Fraser's singing style 'gibberish,' which is a bad description of her musical use of glossolalia.

  • @phoenixx100 it has taken me over a decade to finally realise a lot of her lyrics are poems.

  • I only called it gibberish because someone else did first and I was responding to them. Chrissakes!

  • probably THE most underestimated song, ont only by CT but ever

  • Love me LIZ!

  • people who think there is something wrong with gibberish are totally missing the point.

  • God I love this band. Elizabeths voice just sends me places.

  • Yeah and for me its more Robin Guthrie

  • Which album/EP is this from?

  • Amazing BAND period!!!

  • amazing woman, amazing voice!

  • i love her vocals on this, can't describe them but they make me feel good.

  • wooow very cool music..:)

  • You've created a beautiful video to a beautiful song. Simply beautiful! Thank you from my heart.

  • Truly amazing! Each song from Liz, from Robin, I'm still going mad about their music!

  • she sounds like the female version of Jeff Buckley. no wonder they went out

  • You're probably aware of this, but for anyone who doesn't know.

Liz Fraser actually did a duet with Jeff Buckley called

'All Flowers In Time Bend Towards The Sun'

You can hear it here on YouTube...

  • I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I'm checking it out now.

  • not the only master

  • Well...Jeff Buckley was actually a big fan of Cocteau Twins and you can hear Liz Frasers influence in his singing. He and Liz became friends later.

  • masterbater

  • @anitaaar Too right! Who else could've written a song as incredible as Hallelujah?!

  • :) me agrada

  • igual

  • they also put it on an album called splashed with many a speck,,a compilation of cocteau like bands, sadly none came close to the perfection of the twins at their most sublime,,please more song's lizxxxxxx

  • this sounds a bit like violet indiana, perhaps a sign of things to come from robin?

  • This song was written by Robin back in 1994. It was never released due to all of the conflicts and the drama in the group, until 1996 as a bonus track in the original CD album Milk and Kisses, but not in the remastered version of 2006. They also arranged this song for Faye Wong in her album Fu Zao, released in 1996.

  • Unfortunately, it wasn't included on the original LP of Milk and Kisses... at least, not in Canada.

  • superb as always. The voice is as good as ever, but where is the solo album Liz?

  • Any comments about the karaoke queen

'Way Wrong' (you know who I mean)

    Will be removed.............

  • hahaha! Way Wrong rp61 that's perfect. Liz is the Queen. All Hail Her!

  • lol! It's funny 'cause it's true XD

  • This one is new to me. I like it a lot. Thanks for allowing me to discover it here.

  • Thanks for posting this, I thought I'd heard them all.

  • Hello, many greetings from corsica (mediteranian french island)Somebody can me say if the CT took out a new album, I am a ancient fan butI lost for a long time the contact, thank you very much!

  • You can look up what they have done through wikipedia. I hope that helps;.)

  • just loving finding all those new videos...thanks or posting

  • Just perfect - it's one of the most wonderful Cocteaus tracks I've heard. It beggars belief that it's had such a limited release. There's something about this band at their best - they remind you of places you've yet to visit, of people you've never met, and of songs you've never heard.

  • Nicely described...

  • Whooo...nice! Is this their new song or what?

I have all their albums but never heard this one b'fore..

  • Info on this song Touch upon touch: Having debuted during live performances on the 1996 Milk and Kisses Tour, this song was never released as part of a Cocteau Twins record, although it did appear commercially on the UK compilation CD/magazine Volume 17 and on the Dewdrops records compilation Splashed With Many a Speck.

  • Blimey. I'd never heard this song before and I thought I had everything they did. Very chilled

  • Been Listening, searching for a favorite song

I once heard. In the time, I am enjoying the

    music. It is relaxing. :)

  • Me neither!!! i,ve not heard this one!!!

    great track as always!!!

  • Never heard this one before!

  • Beautiful, Thank you so much for posting this, I never knew this song existed. Hard to find this type of stuff in the US

  • Swan song... No other like Cocteaus!

  • BTW, any further comments regarding that woman (You know who I mean) will be removed. That way there will be no room for argument

  • Beautiful, beautiful. One I've not heard.

  • And I thought I'd heard everything....Thank you!

  • LIz Frazier is one of the greatest talents of the music scene. The CT's music transcends time and style and genre. I cant think of a single fault with this or any other CT song. Just brilliant.

  • You made this yourself? Wow! It's amazing.

  • Beautiful video!

  • hear hear to JannerManner! I can only listen to them with headphones, I need to capture every single sound they make. They have not only enriched my life but also contributed to my terrible tinnitus!

  • Definitely one of their most beautiful and sad recordings. Knowing that this is the very last release, makes it even more sad. Liz, Robin and Simon, your music has meant so much to me. Love to all of you. <3 <3 <3

  • Just when I thought I'd heard everything that they ever made, this staggering song comes out of nowhere; why was this never released? It is mesmerising, such a beautiful, heavy-hearted piece of aural majesty.

  • This song has been released, but i can't recall what it's on (Think it was a bonus on the re-release of the last album) The track was part of new material but it's all been put under lock & key ever since they decided to split the band :(

  • Thanks for that, and in response to brianmckinley below, I found it on Amazon (uk) where you can buy that compilation for a cool £63 (about $120) -before postage! I like the track, but not that much.

  • hey woolly tube. Maybe if you got on the U.S. amazon sight, volume 17, would be 4.00. I just checked today and its still available. I cant see how it would retail for 120.00. Thats just crazy.

  • Does anyone know where can I listen to Faye Wong's version of Touch upon Touch?

  • This is the first i've seen this comment and it doesn't make sense. How could they compose 2 tracks for FW's album, this being one of them, yet it is a cover of one of her songs???????

  • I think you are the one who doesn't make sense. Get these facts right, in the right CHRONOLOGICAL order: CT wrote the 2 songs for Faye Wong, Faye Wong recorded them in an album, THEN CT sang the 2 songs. Do you know the meaning of "cover"? Here's from my New Oxford American Dictionary: Cover - record or perform a new version of (a song) originally performed by someone". Faye Wong performed this track first, that's all it matters in this stupid argument. Get it?

  • Hey I've been doing music for over 40 years now so I don't need some smart arse telling me what it means. So what, I didn't know the history of the song, big deal. And to be honest, CT were doing the song live way before ANY studio version anyway. Fact is, what REALLY matters is Faye Wong is incredibly dull, and like countless others, bored by her endless CT covers. We're also very tired of people mentioning her name, because we're into the real deal. Not some karaoke singing wannabe. Get it? XP

  • ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!

Geeeez, you're just as boring as Faye Wrong,

    FACT!

  • too right mate. Whats he doin on here if he doesn't listen to CT? Ive just YouTubed Wong and áll she does is covers tryin to sound as close to the original as poss, PLUS with the lyrics underneath the vid. Which is simply KARAOKE!

  • This is said to be the last song recorded before they broke up. You can actually purchase this track on amazon. It is featured on a compilation called "volume 17". Its like $4.00 used, which is worth it just for this track alone, because it was never released on any thing else. Very rare cocteaus!!

  • I saw cocteau twins do this song live, at the time, i had heard the faye wong version, which i was used to. Cocteau's recorded it for themselves as a b-side, for i think 'violane' or one of those milk & kisses era singles. but it also appeared on a 'volume' compilation (magazine + CD). this version here is faye's version but it has liz on it too, so, i'm confused! i thought version 1 was all faye, and version 2 was all liz.

  • You're wrong, this is just Liz and the band. I've heard that other version and it's crap. I wish she'd stop trying to imitate flawless pieces of work, i think it's insulting and unnecessary.

  • hear hear!!!

  • Anyone know if this available to buy anywhere...??

  • The atmosphere and emotion of this song both in lyrics and instumentation is totally captivating ...

  • love itttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!! i really love this song.....

  • pure heaven! great song and video

  • LIZ FRASER is THE greatest vocalist of pop music history. period. and FAYE WONG has been a wonderful living tribute to Her!

  • I totally agree with the first sentiment but as for the 2nd you're wrong. Liz is still very much alive and people just don't need a karaoke version of the band, period.

  • that one famous video of Faye Wong crying as she sings Bluebeard karaoke is really so far from definitive of Her talent, though; she is actually a way fine songWRITER herself too... LIZ FRASER always spoke very VERY highly of her prowess.

  • Totally agree.

Cocteau's were perfection ... leave perfection the heck alone

  • so beautiful..

  • man , this is one of the greatest songs ever..so much emotion

    thank u

  • i love this song, but i want to sing it and i cant!

  • lovely! I wish they would release another album. They truly are my favorite band!

  • interesting. this is a tune cocteau twins wrote for faye wong on her album 'restless'.

  • ARE YOU KIDDING??

    i'm sorry..

but Faye Wong is just crap

  • Should be sorry; Weng Faye is good. Cocteau Twins considered touring with Faye when Liz left the band (according to interviews at the time).

  • y, is it wrong to like both cocteau twins and faye wong?

faye wong is a pretty good and unique singer, and yes they did write this tune for faye wong.

i dont get some of you. jus because cocteau twins is good (and yes they indeed are), why wld you bash other singers for no reason?

  • It's simple really, if it's not broke don't fix it. Why try and totally imitate something that is flawless. Without no attempt to put at least some slant on the version; on all the ones i've heard she's done anyway. To me & countless others it's no better than karaoke, i wouldn't consider that being as you say, unique.

  • i love singing along with the cocteau twins so much! faye wong, however, i pretty good at it XD i like that they collaborated and i like that faye wong is bringing the Cocteau vibes to the far east masses ;D

  • Oh, if only we could hear more from their final recordings as a group! Cool video, btw!
