RON PAUL, WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR AN ANSWER! TELL AMERICAN PEOPLE HOW EXACTLY RU GOING TO CREATE JOBS? OK LETS SAY ALL TROOPS CAME BACK AND THEN WHAT? THEY ARE GOING TO SELL IPHONES AND BLACKBERRIES? DUDE BE A MEN, HOW RU GOING TO CREATE JOBS? POPULATION OF CHINA IS 1.4 B CHINESE WORK LIKE ROBOTS, BE HONEST TELL AMERICAN PEOPLE TO BUY UR BOOK U NEED CASH , U LOVE POWER, U LOVE CASH, U WILL NEVER CREATE JOBS, U HAVE NO ANSWER!
What Ron Paul and others cannot understand is that by preaching "private health care" he is supporting a whole other injustice. You say that you do not want to pay for others health care. But you are willing to support a health care system that is solely created to make profit. That is all these companies are concerned about.
This injustice is inherent in a private health care system. People will be denied health care if the costs are too high for the companies.
The US Constitution requires (in the Preamble) that the government "provide for the general welfare" of the people; but it also grants YOU the right to argue about what you think that means (and what it implies in terms of US law
So it can be argued both ways. Also, not to forget that the constitution is a bit outdated. I find it funny how so many Americans consider it to be so sacred, as if it is the word of god. Some things need to be updated.
1. The preamble does not have the force of law; only the body of the Constitution does.
2. There is a general welfare clause in the body; that's where the federal government gets its powers from.
3. We have an amendment process in case of the Constitution getting outdated. However, the Constitution must be followed. It is the foundation of our legal system.
Paul is technically right about there being no "right" to healthcare. However, if someone can't afford health insurance, I think that the government should help him out. Ron Paul seems to believe that some private charity will just magically be there to help everyone, but I kind of doubt it.
I also support a public option. Perhaps those who have pre-existing conditions should just be forced to use a public option. That way they won't put insurance companies out of business.
I do believe, though, that the healthcare mandate is unconstitutional. If people don't want to buy health insurance, they should be able to take that risk. There are some young people out there who are really healthy and fit, and it's a good gamble for them. They'd rather spend the money on something else or save.
do you think hes getting a check from the insurance companies?? they usually are. its weird how America is the least moral and least christian country in the world. i'm not talking about the people, i'm talking about the people in power.
America is the least moral country in the world? Less moral than Iran, North Korea, China, etc.? Please. You mention "least Christian," but aren't people like you for separation between church and state? If lack of universal healthcare = not Christian, then I guess that America was NEVER a Christian country.
Paul receives nothing from the insurance companies. He's not against universal healthcare because of the insurance companies; he simply believes that it's wrong to force one person to pay for another person's healthcare.
@Edgehead10075 I find nothing wrong with paying for health care for those who cannot afford it themselves. Some simply cannot receive it because they have pre existing conditions and are not eligible for most health care plans.
You don't have a right to health care. As a contributing citizen who pays taxes to the state you do not have a right to medical care? I like Ron Paul but he is way off on this one. It doesn't even make sense to call this immoral. Immoral is believing in the notion that you don't have a right to health care.
What I think he means is that there's no constitutional right to have others pay for your healthcare. He's technically correct there. Paul believes that that is theft, which is why he calls it immoral.
@Edgehead10075 It is not theft. As a human being i believe that others should be provided with basic medical care. How immoral do you have to be to let others die on hospital floors because you don't believe they deserve health care, because they do not make as much money. Or simply because they cannot receive health care because they have pre existing conditions.
This whole self regulating individual philosophy that Americans love so much is ridiculous.
@Edgehead10075 Which is completely ridiculous. In an ideal world everything could be explained by "personal responsibility" But the reality is that many of us are born privileged. When you think about it were all privileged to a large extent. Most of us have a place to live, food on our table. In many parts of the world this is not attainable to the large masses.
Also consider the fact that most wealth is inherited. It's easy for a person born to a wealthy or even middle class family
Lastly, people that have their insurance cancel unfairly are too sick to fight for justice in the court. Or too poor to fight for justice in court. Or they are dead. Maybe, that's why you haven't heard about it.
Blue Cross has the power and money to hire people to find reason to cancel your insurance after a significant claim is submitted for payment. Because, as you mention, these companies are FOR PROFIT.
I believe the health care bill is good for the American people. Canada have health care and the country didn't went into bankrupt. However, Ron Paul have some good agruements. If any republican should take presidency for 2012, it should be Ron Paul.
@ClaireLe You are an idiot if you think this bill is good for America. it screws each and every single American who has health care insurance now. Get a clue before you speak retard. You are correct about Ron Paul though.
@youbestbequiet I think you are being rather emotional about this. One of my main reason why the health care is good for America is because Canada and Europe have health care. The consensus is people in those countries are more healthy and the cost of healthcare is low. Furthermore, US army have free healthcare and is supposedly be the best healthcare in America. If the government can manage a successful healthcare system in the army, why not the general population?
@youbestbequiet Also, the bill is stops insurance company from taking away people insurance if they have "pre-condition". If someone develope cancer, and if they are not cure in a few years, say 5, that person will be deny of healthcare insurance. They pretty are being told "go died because you are costing the insurance company". I agree with Ron Paul because I know what he saying. But I need to make a choice b/w liberty and life - I choose life.
@ClaireLe I do not understand how the Govt can tell a private company that has to state " for profit" when they incorporate...how can the Govt tell them they have to insure someone that they know they will lose money on. That is wrong on so many levels and will never hold water in court. While I feel bad for people with pre existing conditions, you cannot punish an insurance company that is FOR PROFIT, you can't make them lose money. That just hurts the shareholders. Let them have medicaide
@youbestbequiet Insurance companies are in the business to compensation for specific POTENTIAL future losses in exchange for a periodic payment. As it is a potential, it may not happen in the future and the insurance company makes money. If it does happen, they lose money. That's their business risks. They made a promise/contract to full their obligation if a potential medical problem arise that is unforseen.
@youbestbequiet If I pay medical insurance for 20 yrs, and then oneday I have cancer - the insurance company can see my case is a BAD investment. They break their promise/contract with me under "pre-condition" because they are FOR PROFIT - greedy. Then I don't have the financial fund for healthcare. Can't get chemotherapy - get worse each day. Then I land in ER. I can't pay ER cost, then that cost goes on everyone else premium. Insurance company don't have to pay a cent b/c they are FOR PROFIT.
@ClaireLe But see that doesn't happen. I know many people who have had cancer and been treated, another friend had a double lung transplant and was literally in the hospital for 6 months...not a single one of them have been cancelled. They all have Blue Cross and united health care( which is out carrier) and never had a problem. I have had 2 in patient surgeries with no problems. What you see in the media is rare. Maybe one or two get cancelled but there are reasons, not just profit.
The pre-existing condition clause means that people can now wait until they get sick to purchase health insurance. That'll put the insurance companies out of business, although I do believe that everyone deserves healthcare.
"If one understands that Socialism is not a share-the-wealth program, but is in reality a method to consolidate and control the wealth, then the seeming paradox of super rich men promoting socialism becomes no paradox at all. Instead, it becomes logical, even the perfect tool of power-seeking megalomaniacs.
Communism, or more accurately Socialism, is Not a movement of the downtrodden masses, but of the economic elite."
Liberal economic commentator Paul Krugman says the so-called "death panels" established by President Obama's trillion dollar nationalized health-care plan will end up saving "a lot of money" for the government. And Palin was a nut, you are all fools.
Healthcare 101: TIME FOR MOTHERS MILK For a year after giving birth, nursing mothers must be allowed breaks on the job to express breast milk as often as necessary, and a private place to do so thats not a bathroom. Employers with fewer than 50 employees are exempt.
if you all think you can do a better job then run for office; what's stopping you? You like voicing your opinion? Use the internet to gather supporters and go on the ballot. The fact of the matter is if you fail it's because you cannot garner confidence from the same people you seem to care so much about.
Voters messages need to be shouted! Do you believe in Obama's new Health care policy? G0T0 my utube channel to discover just why Americans opinons matters !
The SEIU Retirement USA Initiative? The system we have now have failed (broken). The Retirement USA principles will be used by SEIU and its partner organizations in this initiative as a framework for evaluating proposals that would fulfill the goals of universal coverage, and secure and adequate income for all. Obama gave us HC and now payback, the SEIU is coming to get your 401K. Retirement benefits move with you even if you change jobs. SOUND FAMILIAR????
I think we have to ask the questions: Why 1.4 trillion? that equals 5K/citizen. Why are elderly and children barely covered? How are we going to finance this, and what effect will this have on our economy and the dollar, and purchase power?
I don't agree with Paul though stating "health care isn't a right" I think it is a right of every citizen to have decent health care. It's common sense. Besides that our current "health care" system is run by a profit based mob.
Health care is not a governmentally insured 'right'. It has nothing to do with the government. The Constitution doesn't say anything about it.
The problem with America's current medical system is that our government has allowed bribery in order to create the 'profit based mob' that you spoke of. I agree with you on that count, however, if the Constitution had been obeyed from the beginning, it never would have been allowed. The free market would continue to drive prices DOWN like normal.
I would value Ron Paul's opinion especially on this issue, as he is actually a doctor and has experience in the medical field. He earned an MD from Duke.
Not really, they just have him on to talk about issues he agrees with the fox agenda. The interviewer is leading ron paul trying to get him to say that God will be angry if we pass health care. The worst paul can say is it's a bad idea. They did hijack his ideas of wastefull spending repackaged them and sold them to the backwoods retards that belong to the fox news cult, so they could keep help out the insurance companies in delaying the health care bill though.
...Anti-Christ who continues to preach "peace" and decives the delluded into believing the lie, because the people did not hear the truth, which is Jesus Christ. :(
Many people think that the deregulation is the problem. The problem is that the government is in bed with big business. We need to get the government out of the economy if we want anything to get better.
Making sure people are healthy is vital, but without opening places up to competition you won't see prices drop. I could be incorrect, but I think they will continue to rise. Many states are also opposed to the massive unfunded mandates the Federal government is pushing on them.
I have also heard (but haven't double checked this) that no social program has ever stayed within its cost estimate.
Reform is necessary, but I don't think this was the right way.
Wookie: No Federal social program has ever stayed within TWICE it's estimated cost. And most pass that within a few years.
Social Security has been an unfunded joke since LBJ raided it. Medicare has become a black hole for taxpayers and the intended recipients since it's inception.
Ike and Nixon tried to have subsidized private insurance for the indigent, but Dems said NO!
They've wanted government control since FDR. And what they have produced will be incompetently run, as usual.
.. bill, but I didn't think other parts of it were good at all.
One thing that concerns me about it is that a lot of it was discussed behind closed doors and that many Democrats (not all mind you) were thinking about indirectly passing the bill. If it was so amazing why vote subversively on it? If it was so great isn't your political career worth sacrificing?
Also, I have heard the bill does absolutely nothing to actually reduce the costs, it just insures more people.
the problem would be solved if they all had to be non-profit (you didn't say this but I have heard the argument).
The thing is is that just because this is a health bill doesn't mean its the best way to do it. If you are against this it doesnt mean you hate sick people, that's a moronic argument.
There actually were economists that had ideas to help people out that cost nothing at all, but I would say their ideas were thrown aside.
I personally agreed with many of the fraud laws I saw in the..
Cutting doctor and medical worker salaries in a draconian manner like you suggest is also a sure way to discourage people from entering the medical field, let alone staying in it. You can't get health care if all the doctors quit.
You can't just lower prices at the wave of a magic wand, there are expenditures whether you believe it or not. I'd bet if you took all the health insurance profits to pay for health care it would only last a couple weeks. They do evil things, but you can't say..
demoniclordwizard: It was illegal before this bill was passed to refuse medical care at an emergency room. Nobody should have been dying due to emergencies because it would be illegal. However, seeing a regular doctor or getting medicine could be an issue. Medicaid covers some low income people.
I would guarantee you that raising the minimum wage to $50/hr (100,000 a year) would cause unemployment that is worse than could be found in your nightmares.
The WORST thing about this bill is that they are going to have to hire 16,000 new IRS agents to enforce all of its punitive measures for those who don't follow the government's orders to buy an overpriced health care policy that they might not be able to afford (as if we need MORE IRS agents spying on us and bullying us...).
Where is the OUTRAGE?
People should OPPOSE this bill form BOTH the left AND the right. It is a TERRIBLE bill that will be good for NO ONE but ONLY big greedy HMO's.
It's Funny that youtube wont let me say "free education for EVERYONE through WEED TAXATION"? how about it? how about it? AND it's funny that youtube wont let me say
Ron Paul is by far the most qualified straight speaking politician of our time. There is a reason he was not invited to the republican national convention. He is busy speaking the unfortunate truths people do not want to hear.
there gona eat more of tax from ppl for health care but they wont help you there gona keep the money cause they need more money to try to take over the world other countries better wake up and stop these fools before they lose there controls
"right to work hard and right to take care of yourself" any questions? in other words: if you get sick - sad day for you, looks like you didnt take proper care of yourself
you are the thief if you want to live and prosper in a society without paying for its maintanance
paul may seem nice and honest but he subscribes to a terrible ideology, marked by wishful simplicity, religious inspired social darwinism and misanthropy
He is right, the founding fathers are rolling over in their graves. Unfortunately a massive amount of people in this country have no idea what form of gov't this country is supposed to have. State's rights are essential to our republic, the constitution guarantees each state's sovereignty. People, especially those who think the gov't is here to wipe your ass, need to understand what this really means.
Look, The best thing to do is just ignore our rogue federal government. They can't fine 300 million people, nor jail them. Do what hurts them the most, act as if they don't exist.
Be responsible, work hard, take care of those less fortunate than yourself and you'll all soon realize We are the government.
What do the warning signs of tyranny look like to a progressive? What would the "Road to Tyranny" look like in they're eyes. We've seen Alex's version whats their's. I'm curious.
It's Funny that youtube wont let me say "free education for EVERYONE through WEED TAXATION"? how about it? how about it? AND it's funny that youtube wont let me say
Private health care is expensive but potentially unlimited in ability to treat, public health is more expensive and will be eventually rationed. Ultimately everything government does is for more control. We must teach our children to always be suspicious of the government and to see that government is the problem.
Ron Paul is exactly correct in his assessment. This bill will bankrupt the Country. Look at Grease, Italy, Spain, even France who has a shared system of public and private healthcare insurance is in the hole because of entitlement programs. Our Constitution has made us the strongest richest Country in the world for over 200 years. Our Constitution was based on limited Government yet the larger our Government gets the poorer we all have become.
Besides, the healthcare bill is a sham anyways. The original house bill with the public option was fantastic. A very social plan for the country; however the plan is very corporatist now.
Until the public option becomes avaliable and the mandate is taken off (if it hasn't already), then this bill is pretty much a big blow to everyone for quite sometime.
Riddle me this.. If the entire planet is bankrupt, who on this planet has money then? Oh yea, the 0.5% of the planet that the governments have been allowing to screw us. The ones that this bill helps to get money back from and stop from screwing us.
We wouldn't have been having these problems with the insurance companies if nixon didn't mess things up for his own personal gain. If you've listened to the nixon tapes you know what I mean.
rp is a libertarian republican who voted no on the war on iraq while democrats voted yes with bush. you are the individual of sucker yes to everything.
Sailing, yep it is. It is a sad representation of responsible journalism. Hey Stuart, if you actually asked Paul to support his talking points with facts instead of busying yourself answering your phone, then it wouldn't be so sad and such a charade. But what do you expect from Fox? Actual journalistic integrity?
Where do you get your news from?..... FOX NEWS of course, not only do they tell me what I want to hear but its also, the MOST trusted Most watched news network in AMERICA.
I love FOX NEWS, specially the FACT that Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal owns a 7 percent stake in News Corp, the parent company of Fox News.
I am a conservative and I support the Saudi PRINCE along with the destruction of american democracy & the annihilation of a civil discourse...sick.
END THE FED ALSO. or at least AUDIT IT. WAKE UP PEOPLE the government isn't your friend looking out for you. People with power always take advantage of it if not checked.
The government is stealing money from me!! I don't need health care. I stay healthy. I'm 22 and i haven't been to the doctor since I was 9. This is stupid. I should have the right to choose if I want health care or not!. OBAMA is a THIEF!!! I'm not racist I'm asian and just like most black people they always STEAL things.. Get him out of the white house before he would tax me on something else I don't need!! WTF!
steal the money from the rich to pay for this? better than the rich stealing money from me to pay for crappy private insurance looking for any reason not to pay up.
Is that your answer to everything? Lets just take the money from rich people, well think about this what happens when all the rich people have no more money? Or they just decide to leave this country nothing lasts forever.
@opiumthoughts its not my answer just the way stuff works...its all a funnel - all the money goes to the top. i'm not gonna feel sorry for the rich people. theyre already abandoning this country - the corporations go to wherevers cheapest now you can keep believing the scam but i wont.
Well the government is the root of the problem the insurance companies help write this bill, they don't want competition and this bill just killed all competition. So both parties are facist and this bill is promoting facism. We need more balance no more corporation no more big governments.
Your country started the crisis. We gave the banks money, sure, but now they are doing great, and we have no people who are pushed out their houses - something we can't say about your country. You stupid liberal, narrowthinking American :').
Lol all I read is blah blah blah dumb American blah blah blah stupid liberal. My question is do you generalize everyones intelligence based on what country they hail from, or are you just another ignorant Euro trash. Also Im not a liberal but a free thinking libertarian not a blind loyalist party follower. I've been over to Europe quite a few times and met some pretty down to earth people that are intelligent and some that are rude and ignorant your fitting category 2.
The executive order by the President is perfectly precedented. executive orders have been made since 1789. The constitution is vague on this matter, as it is on MANY. try A2S1C1 or A2S3C4. everyone talks about the constitution, no one reads it. further, the order simply clarifies that the Hyde amendment, itself a rider (funny to hear Repubs talk about "proper procedure"), applies to the new act! Repubs should love it! Their protests are disingenuous. They're just sore losers. "Babykiller" much?
I'm for reform/national health care. The government take about 30% from my paycheck, and I can't afford insurance, nor does my company offer insurance. Maybe what i'm asking for is BASIC Health care/Preventative care. Don't I at least deserve that for giving 30% of my money to government.? My saying is " Keep us healthy so we can work hard, and so we can pay our damn taxes!"
Ron Paul TELLS IT LIKE IT IS. Childish liberals can't face the reality that there is no such thing as a FREE LUNCH. Central economic planning does NOT WORK. Free markets are what WOULD work to make health care affordable, if government would let us have one.
I like Ron Paul, but I don't agree with him on this one. People do have the right to health care, the reason, genetically engineered food. We are being force fed unhealthy foods, which causes cancer and other illnesses. The big picture, is working on all gov't so we can get things in some type of order. Deregulation is a huge issue as well. We put too much faith in the monetary system as it is and the days of the dollar is getting short. We need to elevate to higher position with life.
I have similar opinion. And while I don't think people have a "right" to health care, I believe that people have a "right" to a government that cares about the health of its citizens.
If a government shows no interest in wellbeing of its citizens, then it is not for the people, by the people.
Ron Paul is great, but....1. he alone cannot SAVE us, even if elected to the presidency and 2. Like Kucinich, it is likely he would be presented with an offer he could not refuse, to play ball with the military-industrial complex boys.
Trust me when I tell you, there are a LOT of good things here in America. Come visit and I'll show you. You're making the mistake of judging us by our worthless ruling mainstream politicians and all their wars and arrogance.
But change is in the air. Freedom is brewing...
Paul is a harbinger of things to come; the FUTURE here in America. His movement is growing. In ten years, for every one like him now there will be thousands. I wish you were here to join us.
@RonPaulRevolution4u You know what I also wish we had a libertarian movement in my country. But I guess it's proper that the fight for liberty should be fought in America. Though the whole world will benefit when the corrupt system of fiat currency collapses along with the dollar. No more monetary imperialism!
I wish you all the best. Liberty and sound economics is the foundation of Western Civilization. Its something worth fighting for.
Whether they realize it or not, there are MANY people with libertarian leanings EVERYWHERE but just haven't realized it yet, because in EVERY country we are SO brainwashed into seeing everything as "left" or "right", "liberal" or "conservative".
To the libertarian, the power is in the hands of the INDIVIDUAL, but this also means as an individual, taking person responsibility to make things happen. "Do it Yourself" is the motto.
You and other libertarians CAN build a movement there yourselves.
Ron Paul is the man. Its to bad we have a retard for a president and if we dont get him out of office we are in trouble. WE NEED A REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!
Pauly, you have a lot of crazy ideas... but you're absolutely right about the unsustainability of the social wealfare states around the world. It's always easier to spend someone else's money. Until it's gone.
we're one step closer to destruction. I really hope this bill does make things better, but i'm not sure that's going to be the case. I feel bad b/c i really get the feeling the US will no longer be a superpower in the next few years like Ron Paul says. We are living on borrowed time. :/
This day is as tragic as 9/11/01. I watched the vote in shock and disbelief. Both parties are CORRUPT! The only way to save America is to secede from the Fed. Govt. Throw them all out!
Double Agent name on Youtube = mikeshanklin he was block and removed from my list. I got a personal message from him . Beware full Warning to Ron Paul.
their plan is to raise prices on the middle classes health care, and to take money out of other problems, and only 10% of the people without healthcare will get this new healthcare
I completely agree with Ron Paul...What he is saying is true. We are nearly bankrupt. This bill is nearly 1trillion dollars.. we don't have the money.
Oh, and the only reason the system is fubar now is because government intervention prevents real competition between insurance companies from taking place.
America has failed. Healthcare is a scam that keeps the money in the pockets of the politicians at the cost of American's health and insurance companies that have thousand of employees who work hard.
What I want to know is why some British twit is talking about MY AMERICAN FREEDOMS and MY LIFE.
Healthcare is transparently a method for extracting $8000 per US citizen - They've stolen $14 Trillion and 35% of stock market wealth, now they are gunning for the last bit of personal wealth Americans have saved up.
I foresee REVOLUTION when people figure this out. It's forced extraction by executive fiat.
IRS bought police riot model 12 ga shotguns - WHY? IRS added 16,500 workers - WHY
Our government gives us a right to our life, but not living it healthily?
I agree that foreign spending needs to take a backseat to domestic spending, but how about less doom and gloom and trying to make things work guys? If we all spent half as much time arguing about this all, and instead worked on making it work, wouldn't we all be better off, regardless of your political alignment?
Its spelled dumb, and your country isn't all that great either, if I remember correctly your country was in a serious economic crisis and your country put billions of dollars into your banks and nationlized like 12 banks. Soooo you have no room to speak actually no country in Europe has room to speak you have more skeletons in your closet than the United States.
Paul is wiping the floor with every one of these corrupt scumbags and the people who matter never wake up. They all have their price and they all get bought off. Look at Kucinich and Stupak in the last week alone, to name just two.
The difference between Dem. / Repub is becoming more and more arbitrary. The only two parties we need to be concerned about are the congressmen who care about the validity of our constitution, and those who don't.
Yes, he is. yt is censoring my comments again - they don't post till someone "reviews" them.

"Moral problem?" Ron Paul thinks rescinding Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy is "theft," but has no problem with 40,000 people dying every year because they can't get health insurance. Apparently, poor sick people don't have a right to "life."
"No concern for the deficit?" A flawless argument, except that every neutral observer (including the non-partisan Cong. Budget Office) agrees that this bill reduces the federal deficit compared to maintaining the status quo.
Hes been opposed to government-affiliated healthcare since managed care. Nothing has changed with him, only your perception has changed. If you ever watch his older videos, he has been spouting the same stuff since he has been involved with congress. At 74 years old, its highly unlikely he is going to change at this point.

Now many republicans support higher regulation of health care companies, but still believe it should be privatized. This is a complete contradiction.
If you do not believe in a government that should highly regulate the market, then you cannot have high regulation of health care companies.

What regulations are you referring to?

Some things need to be updated.
kenzo4000 11 months ago

Edgehead10075 11 months ago
I do believe, though, that the healthcare mandate is unconstitutional. If people don't want to buy health insurance, they should be able to take that risk. There are some young people out there who are really healthy and fit, and it's a good gamble for them. They'd rather spend the money on something else or save.
Edgehead10075 11 months ago
do you think hes getting a check from the insurance companies?? they usually are. its weird how America is the least moral and least christian country in the world. i'm not talking about the people, i'm talking about the people in power.
Letsgethyped 1 year ago
Are you referring to Ron Paul?
America is the least moral country in the world? Less moral than Iran, North Korea, China, etc.? Please. You mention "least Christian," but aren't people like you for separation between church and state? If lack of universal healthcare = not Christian, then I guess that America was NEVER a Christian country.

Paul receives nothing from the insurance companies. He's not against universal healthcare because of the insurance companies; he simply believes that it's wrong to force one person to pay for another person's healthcare.
Edgehead10075 11 months ago
@Edgehead10075 I find nothing wrong with paying for health care for those who cannot afford it themselves. Some simply cannot receive it because they have pre existing conditions and are not eligible for most health care plans.

You don't have a right to health care. As a contributing citizen who pays taxes to the state you do not have a right to medical care? I like Ron Paul but he is way off on this one. It doesn't even make sense to call this immoral. Immoral is believing in the notion that you don't have a right to health care.
kenzo4000 1 year ago
What I think he means is that there's no constitutional right to have others pay for your healthcare. He's technically correct there. Paul believes that that is theft, which is why he calls it immoral.
Edgehead10075 11 months ago
@Edgehead10075 It is not theft. As a human being i believe that others should be provided with basic medical care. How immoral do you have to be to let others die on hospital floors because you don't believe they deserve health care, because they do not make as much money. Or simply because they cannot receive health care because they have pre existing conditions.
This whole self regulating individual philosophy that Americans love so much is ridiculous.
kenzo4000 11 months ago
I don't believe that it's theft, but that's what he believes; he's a libertarian. He believes in "personal responsibility."
Edgehead10075 11 months ago

ClaireLe 1 year ago
@ClaireLe You are an idiot if you think this bill is good for America. it screws each and every single American who has health care insurance now. Get a clue before you speak retard. You are correct about Ron Paul though.
youbestbequiet 1 year ago
@youbestbequiet I think you are being rather emotional about this. One of my main reason why the health care is good for America is because Canada and Europe have health care. The consensus is people in those countries are more healthy and the cost of healthcare is low. Furthermore, US army have free healthcare and is supposedly be the best healthcare in America. If the government can manage a successful healthcare system in the army, why not the general population?
ClaireLe 1 year ago
@youbestbequiet Also, the bill is stops insurance company from taking away people insurance if they have "pre-condition". If someone develope cancer, and if they are not cure in a few years, say 5, that person will be deny of healthcare insurance. They pretty are being told "go died because you are costing the insurance company". I agree with Ron Paul because I know what he saying. But I need to make a choice b/w liberty and life - I choose life.
ClaireLe 1 year ago
@ClaireLe I do not understand how the Govt can tell a private company that has to state " for profit" when they incorporate...how can the Govt tell them they have to insure someone that they know they will lose money on. That is wrong on so many levels and will never hold water in court. While I feel bad for people with pre existing conditions, you cannot punish an insurance company that is FOR PROFIT, you can't make them lose money. That just hurts the shareholders. Let them have medicaide
youbestbequiet 1 year ago
@youbestbequiet Insurance companies are in the business to compensation for specific POTENTIAL future losses in exchange for a periodic payment. As it is a potential, it may not happen in the future and the insurance company makes money. If it does happen, they lose money. That's their business risks. They made a promise/contract to full their obligation if a potential medical problem arise that is unforseen.
ClaireLe 1 year ago
@youbestbequiet If I pay medical insurance for 20 yrs, and then oneday I have cancer - the insurance company can see my case is a BAD investment. They break their promise/contract with me under "pre-condition" because they are FOR PROFIT - greedy. Then I don't have the financial fund for healthcare. Can't get chemotherapy - get worse each day. Then I land in ER. I can't pay ER cost, then that cost goes on everyone else premium. Insurance company don't have to pay a cent b/c they are FOR PROFIT.
ClaireLe 1 year ago
@ClaireLe But see that doesn't happen. I know many people who have had cancer and been treated, another friend had a double lung transplant and was literally in the hospital for 6 months...not a single one of them have been cancelled. They all have Blue Cross and united health care( which is out carrier) and never had a problem. I have had 2 in patient surgeries with no problems. What you see in the media is rare. Maybe one or two get cancelled but there are reasons, not just profit.
youbestbequiet 1 year ago
@youbestbequiet Please google and read these articles:
"Insurer targeted breast cancer patients to cancel"

I think we have to ask the questions: Why 1.4 trillion? that equals 5K/citizen. Why are elderly and children barely covered? How are we going to finance this, and what effect will this have on our economy and the dollar, and purchase power?
I don't agree with Paul though stating "health care isn't a right" I think it is a right of every citizen to have decent health care. It's common sense. Besides that our current "health care" system is run by a profit based mob.
commonsense2008 1 year ago
Health care is not a governmentally insured 'right'. It has nothing to do with the government. The Constitution doesn't say anything about it.
The problem with America's current medical system is that our government has allowed bribery in order to create the 'profit based mob' that you spoke of. I agree with you on that count, however, if the Constitution had been obeyed from the beginning, it never would have been allowed. The free market would continue to drive prices DOWN like normal.

Reform is necessary, but I don't think this was the right way.
wookieeassassin 1 year ago 2

Also, I have heard the bill does absolutely nothing to actually reduce the costs, it just insures more people.
wookieeassassin 1 year ago
the problem would be solved if they all had to be non-profit (you didn't say this but I have heard the argument).
The thing is is that just because this is a health bill doesn't mean its the best way to do it. If you are against this it doesnt mean you hate sick people, that's a moronic argument.
There actually were economists that had ideas to help people out that cost nothing at all, but I would say their ideas were thrown aside.
I personally agreed with many of the fraud laws I saw in the..
wookieeassassin 1 year ago
Cutting doctor and medical worker salaries in a draconian manner like you suggest is also a sure way to discourage people from entering the medical field, let alone staying in it. You can't get health care if all the doctors quit.
You can't just lower prices at the wave of a magic wand, there are expenditures whether you believe it or not. I'd bet if you took all the health insurance profits to pay for health care it would only last a couple weeks. They do evil things, but you can't say..
wookieeassassin 1 year ago
demoniclordwizard: It was illegal before this bill was passed to refuse medical care at an emergency room.

Private health care is expensive but potentially unlimited in ability to treat, public health is more expensive and will be eventually rationed. Ultimately everything government does is for more control. We must teach our children to always be suspicious of the government and to see that government is the problem.
oyhacrnnR 1 year ago
To Republicans and teabaggers, pick one:
1. Will u teach kids to "BULLY", cheat, disrespect, hate, fear, anger?
OR...
2. Teach kids respect, honor and tradition, "sportsmanship" in defeat, "truth", compete hard with graciousness/honor in defeat.
Kids learn from your example, bitterness is not it. Cheating and "bullying" is not it. Learn, think, and get better with sportsmanship.

I like Ron Paul, but I don't agree with him on this one. People do have the right to health care, the reason, genetically engineered food. We are being force fed unhealthy foods, which causes cancer and other illnesses. The big picture, is working on all gov't so we can get things in some type of order. Deregulation is a huge issue as well. We put too much faith in the monetary system as it is and the days of the dollar is getting short. We need to elevate to higher position with life.

I have similar opinion. And while I don't think people have a "right" to health care, I believe that people have a "right" to a government that cares about the health of its citizens.
If a government shows no interest in wellbeing of its citizens, then it is not for the people, by the people.

we're one step closer to destruction.

Who will pay for this? The American people are about tapped out with all this spending.

their plan is to raise prices on the middle classes health care, and to take money out of other problems, and only 10% of the people without healthcare will get this new healthcare

What does he mean about an executive order? I thought they already voted on health care not to long ago and it didn't pass. What happened?

I completely agree with Ron Paul...What he is saying is true. We are nearly bankrupt. This bill is nearly 1trillion dollars.. we don't have the money.

I don't understand why people think this will stop big insurance from scamming them. They wouldn't support it if it didn't mean more money for them.
heavyarms117 1 year ago 4

Our government gives us a right to our life, but not living it healthily?
I agree that foreign spending needs to take a backseat to domestic spending, but how about less doom and gloom and trying to make things work guys? If we all spent half as much time arguing about this all, and instead worked on making it work, wouldn't we all be better off, regardless of your political alignment?
sublimeDom777 1 year ago
Your right to life comes with being born and is a condition of nature. This is an inalienable right.
The day any government gives us a right to live is most likely the day we all die.
I'd suggest researching the Declaration of Independence.
These truths are "self-evident," meaning they just exist without any action from a political entity.

Healthcare reform is going to pass in senate since senate democrats are more committed to their past vote on it.

Ron Paul makes up a small portion of the former.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
"Moral problem?" Ron Paul thinks rescinding Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy is "theft," but has no problem with 40,000 people dying every year because they can't get health insurance. Apparently, poor sick people don't have a right to "life."
"No concern for the deficit?" A flawless argument, except that every neutral observer (including the non-partisan Cong. Budget Office) agrees that this bill reduces the federal deficit compared to maintaining the status quo.
Ron Paul is a clown.

i used to like ron paul, but this seems like hes doing a 180, i think its for political points. They are riding the fuck out of that band wagon.

I disagree but respect him. This is him being same as usual. He wants to avoid government expansion in any way.
I disagree in addition, this isn't a moral outrage.
behraambaqai 1 year ago
180?
Hes been opposed to government-affiliated healthcare since managed care. Nothing has changed with him, only your perception has changed. If you ever watch his older videos, he has been spouting the same stuff since he has been involved with congress. At 74 years old, its highly unlikely he is going to change at this point.
