Yes, the DVD's distributed in the UK seem to have this intro speeded up so this has been taken from UK DVD release of GITS SAC 2. Why it's been sped up i'm not sure, it may be due to the difference in FPS between UK and US, PAL is 25fps and USA is 29.9fps meaning the PAL opening sequence goes quicker so they sped the song up as well to make sure it was in sync.

@Riggidig It's because it's from the UK version, it's sped up a tiny tiny bit because of the fps difference between PAL and NTSC, which noticeably sounds less high pitched and "slower". Personally I prefer the UK versions of both openings, this one sounds much more badass slightly sped up.

This song singlehandedly started me on anime (long story) and I've seen eleven different anime shows now. The first time I saw this opening on T.V., it totally blew my mind (I thought the opening for Justice League Unlimited, back then, was impressive, that was nothing compared to this). It just chills me to see all the members of Section 9 spread out in different civilian locations practically invisible, and at the end they all come together as a group.

That's the first season buddy not. This is the second. Thus the title "Second Gig." The theme to the first season, the one with the "3d" animation, was called "Inner universe" which was another Yoko Kanno/Origa song of total awesomeness and face destruction.
