  • Just finished my first youtube cover "Gee Baby"

     Check it out

  • swell

  • Not bad, but Kenny has done better. Try the old album for the film, "Alfie" (w/Michael Caine/1967). Sonny Rollins, Kenny and others contributed the soundtrack.

  • "Kenny Burrell--that's the sound I'm looking for."

    - Jimi Hendrix

  • Inconfondiburrell !!!

  • i FUCKING LOVE THIS

  • God I love this....

  • Can anyone recommend me some more slow/smooth/relaxing jazz like this?

    Thanks for uploading :)

  • no body dislikes this. the only people who do are the ones who want to be the first 2 people to dislike it. This needs to be what our societies mainstream music is.

  • my dad's name is Kenny Burrell. That's how I found out about this guy. lol

  • Kenny's always been a real cool, sophisticated gentleman. You'll hear alot of stories about jazz musicians and their close-to-edge, wild lives BUT you'll never hear a bad word spoken about Mr Burrell.

  • @taildragger53 he was super cool at newport in 69 david peele was perfoming i like marijauna on the lawn out front saying this is the newport fuck festival and there wer some gate crashers

  • Love this! Learned to play it on Piano! So awesome! love this song ;D

  • fucking gooood

  • I wonder how many people know that this guy was Jimi Hendrix's favorite guitarist??

  • @jacopman Maybe just a few cats. The tone and drive of Mr. Burrell are unbelievable. One of my favourite tunes is "Azure te", he shows the way to play in octaves. Very cool. Thanks GOD to keep alive Kenny.

  • @jacopman nobody knows that they should have used him on those gil evans plays jimi hendrix records one didnt have a guitar a tuba instead

  • @jacopman

Yes, I've read that Hendrix met up with KB at some point in the 1960s. Otis Rush, SRV , Pat Metheny,Larry Carlton, Andy Summers & BB King are big Burrell fans also.(so was Wes Montgomery)

  • Wonderful. Herb Ellis played it beautifully also and T-Bone Walker sang it so cool. I'm crazy about this tune!

  • The first part goes like this:

    Cm7 Ab7 G7 C7 F7-9 Bb7-13 Eb6 G7+5

Then the second part goes like this:

    Ab6 A°/Eb Eb6 Eb7 Ab6/Eb A°/Eb Dø Db7-5

At least thats the way i'm learning it on the piano...nice song goodluck :)

  • desparate to find some proper tab or chords (or sheet) to this, can anyone help? :(

  • @kingofalltothischair just use your ear! you'll get it

  • Cool.

  • Yeah baby, you were good to me! Thanks for posting!

  • esto es la caña de ocaña

  • If someone has the (Big) Joe Williams version of this would they please post it? Thank you very much.

  • i did this song for band in a box..if anyone is interested, just send me a message

    great song, by the way!!!

  • this is my favorite recording of this tune. love kenny's tone and chord phrases.

for the people that posted before asking about the form, this tune is in the real book 6th edition.

  • I will confess, my first time hearing this song was seeing "The Mask" when i was...12?

  • Same here! You should here Joe Pass and Ella do it, its here on youtube.

  • Great song!!!!

  • one of my earliest music memories is this album thanks for this post

  • how is th ewhole album?

  • absolutely wonderful. Good tunes, great performances from KB and all involved. I'd call this disc an essential.

  • "Midnight Blue"

    (One of the famous album)

  • People can figure out songs like giant steps. That's no easier than this is.

  • beautifull, i got this on cd. Its a shame because i cant find tabs of music for anywhere

  • You should work it out by ear. That's the best way to learn all of this stuff. It really helps to internalize everything.

  • stuff like this is quite complex tho. like trying to figure out the chords in this could be A never ending challenge

  • its not a blues, and has not one major chord. All dominant and a couple diminished chords...

  • The changes and melody are in the Real Book. As far as the solo goes, Risingforce is right, it is better to transcribe it for yourself.

  • excellent

  • Love it man, love it.

  • melow i love it love mnakes me treat you the way that i do

  • This is a master peace!

  • Really sweet! Great music! Thanks for posting.
