These buses were designed to last twenty years or more (New Flyer D40LF - 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009). I'm sure that most of the drivers are compenent at FS, and that they're treated like shit, but there are some people who come off the boat from Poland and Pakistan who steal work from Americans, Brits, and Canadians, and they slag around, break the laws, don't speak English, almost cause accidents, and drive like a 50km/h street is a goddamned German Autobahn! We don't want FS here!
The only reason that FirstGroup ever came to being, was because of that bitch Margaret Thatcher (British Prime Minister in the 1980s and 90s, where FirstGroup is headquartered) went in and privatized the entire public railway and bus systems in Britain. They run some transit systems in Canada and the U.S., with all of Britain, and as you probably know, are shit! In Barrie, Ontario (where I live), they let Barrie Transit's buses fall apart. Even buses that are four years old are breaking down!
