downthepark, whoever you are, you JUST TAUGHT ME HOW TO install FF 10 on my Ubuntu 10. It's like they say, "teach a man how to fish and you fed him for life". Thanks!
@dragonkingish Sorry for not replying in a long time but it might be because you deleted the "firefox" folder. Try watching the video over again and it might help. If you want a better video than go to: youtube . com / watch?v=c-OBV-MDizM
@nhanapologizes Sorry, I can't. I'll make a video on that when I have time. None of my computers are in need of Ram upgrading. When I have a computer that needs Ram, I will definatly make a video. I'm really sorry.
@raperquindio It is possible that Kubuntu does not have the "Main Menu" application installed. But if you are running the Gnome Desktop then right click on "Applications Places System" then click on edit menus if there is. This is the best I could help you with if that was your question. Sorry if it didn't help.
@iansinthebag Your the retard because I did NOT copy Firefox. I downloaded the file from the Mozilla website. What version of Ubuntu are you running. Natty Narwhal or something. You shouldn't be watching this video if you have Natty Narwhal.
@newuserpointofview Read my description. It says there is another way to install Firefox 4, and that is the PPA way. There is also a video on how to install it.
@downthepark Thanks. Sorry for my lousy commentary, I just wanted to say that PPA way is so much easier and better than this "unzip and copy/paste" thing.
@newuserpointofview That's okay :) The reason why this isn't in PPA is because this video was made in the Beta for Firefox 4. I didn't know the PPA for the beta so I made this video.
@pat20105 When you mean Unity, do you mean Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat netbook edition? Or is it Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal? If you have Maverick Meerkat, try upgrading to 11.04 natty narwhal in update manager. I hope you understand this. :)
@pat20105 You don't need to watch this video because Natty Narwhal comes with Firefox 4. But now that Firefox 5 is released, use update manager to install Firefox 5. I hope this helps you.
when you reach locations you press what and gets u in downloads??in the loocation mine pc ubuntu has only:personal file,desktop,documents,music,video,pics,pc,acer.....!!
ffs y is ubuntu so complicated on windows u just click the .exe file and it installs and bam there it is in your programs all installed and extracted ubuntu just overcomplicates things...
@BritishRider The reason why It's easier to install programs on Windows is because Windows is used by a LOT of people. So most companies invent stuff for Windows only. Also because Windows is user friendly witch makes it easier to install stuff.
@LyricKhan Follow the tutorial in the sugestions part. Click on the one that says "Ubuntu 10.10 Install firefox 4 How.mkv" My tutorial is kind of useless at this date. Or instead of watching that video just follow the steps I give you right now. 1: Open Ubuntu Software Center. 2: Click Edit and open the Other Sources Tab. 3: Click add and type ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable 4: Wait 3 seconds and open Update Manager. 5: Install the updates. 6: Restart your computer. Now Firefox 4 is installed
@downthepark Thanks a lot! I had tried it a few times it failed for some mysterious reason (guess a firewall was blocking access to the server from mozillateam, i'm not at home and was using my schools connection), but I finally managed to install it from the source, classic way. Bye!

xtremedandobe123 5 days ago
@xtremedandobe123 I think the Ubuntu people removed it. But in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS you already have the latest version of Firefox.

Forget this descompact stuff bullshit, install the PPA of mozilla and all done. Much more easy.
Search for "mozilla ppa" on Launchpad site.
