Freedom isn't free one of the dumbest statements I ever heard, and all the brainless conditioned humans believe it, repeat it, and live it, and die it.
@DavidTexen The statement may sound odd to you, but it is a true statement. Freedom has a cost that those who don't know anything about history can't appreciate. That cost is also ignored by those who have had their freedom handed to them on a silver platter, as is the case with many here in the States and in the western democracies who say things like what you've said. Freedom definitely has a price, my friend. Don't be shortsighted. And thanks for the sub.
@planetery I screen the comments because many come to this video to complain about U.S. policy and about the U.S. military, and this video is not the proper venue for that kind of stuff. This video is about honoring those who volunteer to serve the country, regardless of politics. I generally don't have a problem with people expressing themselves as long as they do it respectfully and in a way that makes sense. Your comments will not be censored as long as you stick to that formula.
@planetery Your subsequent comments were deleted for that reason as well. This is not a policy forum. If you come here for any purpose other than to pay homage to those who have fought and died for this country, you are in the wrong video. I won't dishonor the memory of our fallen by allowing people to turn this homage to them into a crass political discussion. Even though I feel no apology is necessary at all, I nevertheless apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
To think of all those men and women who have served in the name of my country, of happiness of life, liberty and the pursuit , is a touching thing that we, a nation celebrate once a year in November-- Veterans day. But to me it means thinking about the care and respect we provide for those who fought for us over the years. I appreciate that my Grandfather and dad have fought in wars that are important to my history, but it is more important to me to see how they are being treated now
Some of the hardest working, bravest, and kindest people i've ever met served. Huge thanks to every veteran and a special thanks to each veteran that sat down and talked with me about their experiences. It never went unnoticed. I have a much deeper respect for out service member because of it. Thanks for sharing this video.
This is an extremely moving video. I wish I would have found this video before the Veteran's Day holiday because I would sent it as an e-card to a lot of people. I also love the music here, as it is the theme song from the Band of Brothers mini-series. Great video once again!
Thanks each and every Veteran past and present. Thanks for you service to our country that I may be free to sit at my desk and type this. May God comfort the families of all. Those families who lost loved ones, my heart goes out to you, may you find comfort in knowing that you loved ones are in Gods arms and you will see them again. May God comfort the families who have loved one right now over seas. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved one. Thanks to the families who scarifice
What I want people to remember is that in WWII Infantrymen saw combat on an average of 10 days/year in Vietnam they saw an average of over 200 days/year. Two Thirds of those were drafted, people generally "volunteered" in services that had little chance of seeing combat during Vietnam. I will always respect our Infantrymen the most, especially those today who are all volunteers.
@zaurakdigis I generally view statements like yours with suspicion, because the distinctions you are trying to make here are irrelevant to the purpose and spirit of this video. I don't appreciate it when attempts are made to question the worthiness of a veteran's service on the basis of the capacity in which he/she served. All veterans took the same Oath and made a pledge to uphold that Oath at the cost of their lives if necessary, and they're all equally worthy. All gave some, some gave all.
GOD BLESS ALL WHO GAVE SO WE COULD BE FREE AND MAY WE NEVER FORGET OUR HERO'S WHO WENT WITHOUT SO WE MAY WALK FREE I AM IN AWE OF ALL MY HERO'S I LOVE YOU ALL FROM MY HEART AND MY SOUL BLESS THEM AND KEEP THEM ALWAYS WITH US X0X0X TYILUALL

Awesome and powerful video. Remember and honor the past, thank and honor the present. From an active duty Sailor to those who support us each and everyday, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Service to one's country is among the highest of callings. No matter if a service member is in harm's way or not, the decision to step foward and take an oath to protect their fellow citizens is an act of bravery. Honor them tomorrow for it, and pray that people are always willing to heed that call. Keep the faith, brothers- and sisters-in arms!
To those who have served, to those who are still serving, and to those who never left the field of battle. From one veteran to another i salute all of you.
Thank you for the video and an even greater thanks for your service. I humble to live in a country of such great men and women who put themselves in harm's way to provide and protect our freedom. God bless all our military men and women and their families!
Thank you for posting this video. Very moving and quite relavant to this world. May we never forget the sacrifices men and women of the armed forces have made for us. My son is an active-duty Marine, has made six deployments and will be making his seventh next Spring. My father was a veteran and I am so proud of both of them.
My dad was served in vietnam and passed away six mos ago on the 11th. Thank you so much for posting this video! Thank God and thanks to all of our soldiers for our feedom today!!!!!!
this is a great video i am a soldier currently serving with the 101st HRC in kuwait i am on my foruth deployment in the middle east...and to all the veterans and all my brothers and sisters in arms ....Thank you for serving its an honor to serve next to you
I served in the 82nd, 2/504 PIR. Airborne, that was damn fine! STRAC! Thank You! I will share this will all of my friends and family! By the way....WELCOME HOME! God Bless You!
@PV2RS You are quite welcome, and thank you for watching. My appreciation for my fellow veterans and their service to our country is such that I would upload a thousand videos just like this one if that were possible. Words cannot express the debt of gratitude that is owed to them by our country and its posterity.
@NoblesseGlint1 They aren't protecting us or making us safer. The United States presence in the middle east is just pissing the world off and making more people hate us.
@esh325 That's a political opinion that has nothing to do with this video. This video is about honoring those who have volunteered to endure sacrifice and pain while serving our country, regardless of politics. If you don't have the ability to understand that concept and abide by it, I'll ask you to air your opinions in the proper venue and to keep from doing that in this space. This video is certainly not the proper venue for that. Politics is one thing, and the troops are something else, OK?
i enlisted in the marine corps last week, i cannot wait to be part of the few and the proud and part of the United States military. OORAH thank you for this video!
My ex works with the families of the soldiers and their possessions, I think this is probably the hardware job that all my family has had to do! Those poor families are devastated and he is there to help as best he can! He may be my EX BUT I AM VERY PROUD OF HIS KINDNESS AND LOYALTY TO THOSE FAMILIES!!
Thank you for all that you do, thanks to my late dad, who gave 20 years of his life and fought in Viet Nam for our freedom, I am grateful every day for all of the battles fought to keep this country free....God bless every single one of you.
God bless all our veterans and those who have given their lives. A special thank you to the 101st who have paid such a difficult price this past year in Afghanistan and over the course of the unit's history. We will never forget you.
I have been to the Wall in Washingtion and you can hear a pin drop, my dad was in the Army for 21 yrs and i thank god he did make it back home from Viet nam, God Bless them all.
Greater love hath no man than this; that he lay down his life for his friends. Keep the faith, brothers and sisters in uniform. And for those who have never served, we appreciate the kind words of thanks. But please, stop and give a quiet thanks and prayer for those who don't come home to cheering crowds and parades. This is their day, rightly so. We gave some, but they gave all.
To all you service people,God bless you all,all of you!You are my hero. And Dad,wherever you are at ,I love you.Without all of you guys ,we would have never made it....ONCE AGAIN THANKS!
@Flavie3366 No, but you're close. It is the theme to the HBO original series "Band of Brothers". The theme to "The Pacific" would have been equally good with this piece, however, as it is very moving and inspirational. Maybe I'll use it in a future video at some point. Thanks for watching!
To all of my fellow veterans and brothers and sisters currently serving in our armed forces: May God Bless you and yours this coming Memorial Day!! And thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do in the honor of serving your country.. We continue to be the LAND OF THE FREE and THE HOME OF THE BRAVE!! And to the fallen who have served with honor we are humbled by your sacrifice for "No greater love hath a man than to lay down his life for his friend! Bravo Zulu and Semper Fortis!!
Thanks for the beautiful video. It puts things into perspective as we approach Memorial Day 2011. Many of our fellow veterans cannot enjoy a peaceful weekend with their families like the rest of us can. - Army Vet, Iraq 2007, "The Surge"
Thank you for YOUR service, ArmyFirst. (((Welcome Home HUGS))). Beautiful, meaningful video that honors ALL who serve(d). My Daddy; his four brothers; Mom's brother; MY brother; several cousins served. All branches. Many saw war -- one of my Daddy's brothers survived Bataan. I joined the USAF to travel, came to TX, never left. God bless you, Sir.
@stormspinner1 Hey, lady! Haven't heard from you in a while, and I'm glad you're OK. Memorial Day is approaching again, and I thank you and your family for your good service to our Country! );-)
u know im glad to b an american, to b apart of such a great that is gaurded by our soldiers, our heros. My buddy is n the army infatry and is in iraq right now. 3 weeks ago his humvee was hit by an I.E.D. Killed 2 of his buddies and put him and another in the hospital severaly injuring the other. He came out with a few cuts only bcause he was on the turret. I preyed for his fallen comrads and there family and i thank god i we have heros, gaurdians like my buddy and his fallen comrads. God bless.
Nothing can repay what are fallen soldiers have given us but what we can do is honor thier sacrifice and help the familys who have lost thier loved ones as our brave troops press on to defend our right and our freedom and our home.
Beautiful video. My love and support go to all our troops, despite how I feel about the current wars we are fighting. God bless our American soldiers!
I ran 11.2 miles to say thank you.... In my honor and my dedication i wanna say thank you to those who serve and died for the past 200 years... you will never be forgetten!................Freedom Isnt Free... Remember that vets!
Thank you and God bless all who have served and those currently serving our country with honor in the cause of the defense of freedom versus tyranny. May the Lord protect, bless and guide you all daily and give strength to your and your families, and heal the losses experienced by those who have lost a loved one or friend in the cause of freedom. God bless you all and may God continue to bless America. May we always look to God as our Maker and Protector.
@gumbumsee77 Thank you for watching, trooper! I didn't make the video, but I was glad to post it here in honor of you, your fellow service members on active duty, my fellow Veterans, and our Country. I thank you for your service, and for wearing the uniform of the best Army in the world! HOOAH!
@gumbumsee77 No, Soldier... we thank you. May God watch over you always. Thank you... ! BTW, Soldier, there are millions of us back home, who get on their knees each night, and pray for you... we don't know your names, but we're praying just the same... Somebody's praying for you...
i'm 12 and my dream is to serve for my country when i get older. My great grandpa was in WW II and my grandpa was in the Navy and they told me they lost a few friends in combat. I wish to serve once as they did and either lose my allies in my arms, lose my life for my country, or win the war with a victory shout and celebrate. I want to join the Navy SEALs and get into the front lines. But, godbless those who lost there lives. Amen
I watched this video in class today, I love the epic music. I was trying not to break down, people my age (highschool [and younger]) dont seem to realize how lucky we are to be born in such a wonderful, strong country. When watching the video, it touched me....but, the others in my class sat there emotionless, like rocks. It made me sad. Dont they realize how many people died? Who paid a sacrifice....to have them be born into a Republic. Powerful video.
I am an 2x OIF Vet and I would like to take the time to thank the Vietnam Vets for being the first to welcome us home and the first to block the protesters so that what happened to them never happened to us. Thank you to all Vets but esspecially the Vietnam Vets!!!
TheFedupCitizen is not so fed up today. Today I take time to pray for, and honor the men, and women that have given their live for my freedom. Thank you, thank you, and thank you soldiers for my freedom!
to all veterans who serve thank you.to the ones that died i salute. thank you veterans.my uncle fought with the army rangers, made it back alive, however, his buddy was pronounced KIA while helping kids get to cover.

@PV2RS You are quite welcome, and thank you for watching. My appreciation for my fellow veterans and their service to our country is such that I would upload a thousand videos just like this one if that were possible. Words cannot express the debt of gratitude that is owed to them by our country and its posterity.

Soldiers give there lives to protect us,while we just sit and play not a care in the world.
Soldiers say goodbye to their allies, while we play with friends.
Rest in Peace and may God be with those fellow soldiers
NoblesseGlint1 6 months ago
@NoblesseGlint1 They aren't protecting us or making us safer. The United States presence in the middle east is just pissing the world off and making more people hate us.
esh325 6 months ago
@esh325 That's a political opinion that has nothing to do with this video. This video is about honoring those who have volunteered to endure sacrifice and pain while serving our country, regardless of politics. If you don't have the ability to understand that concept and abide by it, I'll ask you to air your opinions in the proper venue and to keep from doing that in this space. This video is certainly not the proper venue for that. Politics is one thing, and the troops are something else, OK?

Greater love hath no man than this; that he lay down his life for his friends. Keep the faith, brothers and sisters in uniform. And for those who have never served, we appreciate the kind words of thanks. But please, stop and give a quiet thanks and prayer for those who don't come home to cheering crowds and parades. This is their day, rightly so. We gave some, but they gave all.

@Flavie3366 No, but you're close. It is the theme to the HBO original series "Band of Brothers". The theme to "The Pacific" would have been equally good with this piece, however, as it is very moving and inspirational. Maybe I'll use it in a future video at some point. Thanks for watching!

i'm 12 and my dream is to serve for my country when i get older.
