elven armor is "light armor"as the hide u r using, so it won't do more noise, and its better

Hide armor is not special sneaking armor, it's just armor made from animal skins...If you want good armor for sneaking then you should join the dark brotherhood. The boots alone muffle your footsteps.

Spade, when you're pickpocketing someone it tells you the percentage chance of it being successful under the item description, in the bottom right corner. Armour doesn't affect it.

@RemarkabIe No, u dont have to do main quests. Like i did all kind of side quests and when i first went to high hrothgar i was 31 lvl. So u can just wonder around in skyrim and search places where will be monsters to kill so u level up little by little..

@RemarkabIe i was about lvl 30 when i got to where spade was, cuz i did all the college of winterhold quests first, then went back to the main quests. I also roamed around and complete random caverns and fought a few dragons and learned some shouts.
