  • I wish more people are interested in science.

  • Me too. My housemate watches all these skanky violent TV shows. I prefer the LHC stuff

  • hahahaha lolll at 1:23 the picture said:« CERN: the end of the world is report » lollllllllllllllllll

  • I wish I worked there !

  • Dam I love technology this kind of stuff inspires us journalist to write science fiction books like Cern supplying the world with internet hydro and the beam accelerator that protects the earth from astroids okay I'm done time to write a sci fi story or comic

  • Is it stupid to want to understand? Is it stupid to try to further advance the human race? Is it stupid to have tried something even if you fail? The answer to all is no, the only stupid thing would be to take the advice of an uneducated person, such as yourself, who is affraid to take a step up for fear of falling down.

  • You say it's a waste of money but I prefer us spending our money on this than maintaining a huge military. Our nukes protect us so we don't need to be like the USA in that respect. This machine may well find nothing but it may well find God. To not want to try goes against human nature.

  • Perhaps you could tell us about your vast educational background urbanprohet... I know you must be enormously educated and intelligent in order to call our greatest minds of today dumb... I'm sure we would all like to hear more about how you came to this conclusion... We might even be able to arrange for you to conciliate with these scientist to get them on the right track... Or maybe you should just pretend you never got this message...

    ^..^

  • Oh yeah urbanprophet777? I think you're just scared it might actually work... Do you even have a clue what it does anyways? maybe you could read into science and physics a bit (a few weeks of good study should do the trick), then come back here and post a few worthy comments on your thoughts... PEACE!

  • How smart can you be if you still believe a 2000 year old fairy tale? Get over yourself and study some science.

  • fire it up already...

  • man dis shit is scarey, what ever happened to livin in huts and cookin outside to feed de village.... =(

  • Ooooooo Alice you go girl (you sexy bitch you) :)

  • How is it called?Mmm wait...i can't rememb...oh yeah!! SCIENCE!!!! 5/5

  • what a nice teleprompter!!

  • that is not a teleprompter it is juste a screen reflected in a fake metal thing.

  • shes hot

  • lol

  • Great video, it explained a lot of Alice for a newb like me.

    @niiidar

I've also no idea what that thing is at the beginning but you can see the reflection of the autocue in it 0:31 =D

  • i'm confused.. is this the actual thing?? did they actually do it?

  • No this is minor. This is not the big full run they will be doing.

  • with protons, yes.

  • Reminds me of the good old days when I worked at the Antiproton Decelerator :)

    Great videos from CERN TV!

  • What's the thing behind her in the beginning? It looks almost like molten metal, but it's standing up...

    wtf?

  • I think the word your looking for is "mirror"

  • Nah, it's moving, and it's too dirty... Not smooth like a real mirror. Maybe it's some kinda thin metal plate?

  • normal metal? lol

  • "100,000 times hotter than the center of the sun" WHOA!!! That's nearly as hot as Salma Hayek. Whew... hot, indeed!

  • true true a hot italian woman...

  • I agree with the comments about low views. It is strange that the 'biggest mahcine ever built' factor doesn't intrigue more people. Not to mention what they could actually prove (or disprove) with the experiments. Also, who wouldn't be turned on by Jurgen? That guy's smoking hot.

  • The door for Alice in the wonderland.

    Star gate?

  • Jürgen, when you are talking to a hot-blooded italian woman you need to fascinate her for your detector.

Kidnap her with your words and bring her into a fascinating world of hot plasma and let her heart melt. ;-)

This way she will just yawn. :-D

  • only 56 views?!

  • well , we're on youtube , the place where the dumb meets the stupid with a smart few on the side , so i wouldn't be so amazed if they broadcasted the launch of the LHC here and only got 10 views

  • Definetly. The only time the LHC has attracted mass interest is when all the ridiculous scaremongering stories were doing the rounds. Discovery, exploration and learning are like Kryptonite to most people.

  • Good News !
