The themes (scars time) and all are okay, I guess, but this whole game apart from that seems like a Final Fantasy wannabe. I mean, look at it, no offence, but Chrono Cross seems exactly the same. I'm sorry for saying this if the creators of Chrono Cross haven't got their idea from Final Fantasy, but they both seem exactly the same, and besides, Final Fantasy have released more games that were earlier than this. Many people could think that this game is a replica.

Just to make this clear, Final Fantasy is not a game developer, it's a game title. The reason this reminds you of that is simple, it's the same people who made Final Fantasy. It's made by square.

Also... The first game, Chrono Trigger, is kind of Final fantasy IV, so....yeah they did not really copy anyone, they just carried on their own style =)

PS1 was home to some of the most EPIC rpgs in existance!! I LOVED this game almost more than Chrono Trigger! All the many characters that could join your party, how your decisions really DID effect the world and people you came in contact with. Didn't see too many more like this on PS2....The best one I played was FFXII!

It's PS1, I can't say that FF- series were the best games back then... If I do that you would miss games like Medievil, Rayman and Tecken. Back then ,GTA was like dogshit(Dots on a 1 dimension screen) and FF ,were only known by inner circles of the geeks,guess it still does.

Nope it's a different region. Just like how we Americans can't play PAL or JAP regional games on our NTSC systems.

@divisionnubecielo Well you can... if your PSX is modded with a modchip and use a RGB-cable you can play it. I am from Netherlands and my old PSX at the loft is modded and my TV could play NTSC and PAL. Use RGB when you have a PAL version though. Else you will see black/white. there are ways to get the other hidden characters such as the baby dragon ...and others however then some other characters cannot come into your party.....that is a rule in this game ..YOU CANT HAVE ALL 40 CHARACTERS...by the way did any of you get the element called MOTHERSHIP....

this game got a 10 in gamespot and its realy hard to get a 10 in gamespot the only 10 games was this game, zelda ocrania of times, gta4, mgs4 but ffvii got a 9.5 back when gamespot use to give 9.5 to realy good gamesms1 didnt even get a solid 9 it surprisingly got an 8.5 that means it wasnt that great at the time for some reason

For me there's no one best game in the Playstation1, but the number ones for me are Final Fantasy VIII, Metal Gear Solid and Alone in the Dark The New Nightmare. I was technically impressed with the real-time FMVs of FFVIII and with its scenarios! I thought i just was going to see an RPG with the charaters no in SD and walking one behind the other without "entering in one" in PS2. And never though could be possible such soft passages betwen game-FMV.

So less than the story evolves into something interesting (like FFVIII, with misteries, surprises and revelations), FFIX is not the "all that" that you said. yes, i was in the first disc, when i tried to play. hmmm, so the story gest better!!! Hey, i, too, think FFVII is much overrated. A LOT overrated! For my taste, the movie AC was better than the game. Reading the Ultimania of FFVII you read that the supreme villain, Sephiroth, in reality does no exist, that in the truth the Sephiroths that appear in FFVII are Jenova parts. It's bizrre the plot of FFVII if you understand it completely.
