@ys1337 - PIPP is a prop for display purposes at sci-fi conventions and steampunk gatherings. It fires nothing other than the imagination.  If it was capable of firing anything, I could not carry it anywhere near a convention because they have strict rules about that sort of thing. Search "steampunk" on this site and you will find many marvelous and fantastic creations.

@theben00233 - The term "snubbed" refers to damping of ion flow by the use of a choke. In the case of this weapon, early development proved that the peaks of the ion flow were sufficient to blow the barrel assembly off the frame. The "snubber" or "choke" was added to tame the waveform and spread out the peak over time. (total bs of course, thank you for the comment)

The ionic cascadatron is my name for the chamber at the rear where the exponential cascade of ions is initiated by the pulse from the piezoelectric crystal in the original buccaneer pistol hammer. The resonant wave of energized ions is expanded then funneled into guides in the body of the original pistol before being ported through the snubber and released for collimation into the barrel assembly. At this point, it better be pointed at your intended target. :-)

And the great thing is, that coudl totally work in theory (though there is always presumed functionality :]) but I meant, and was very unclear sorry, that I thought that name was a bit weak perhaps. Possibly an ionic compendium initiator but cascadatron is a bit... odd I think. No offence meant, and it is still amazing (working or not).
