Laos have 2 seasons. The monsoon(rain) season and the dry season. He's probably there during the dry season. Laos is also one of my favorite place to vacation. I'm from Seattle.

it didn't rain the couple of days before this visit. I returned after heavy monsoon. It looked completely different

This is an awesome place, been there a few times and it`s always beautiful, especially just after monsoon season.
