Because it still takes an incredible amount of skill and focus to fly an airplane. Even if you add tens of thousands of dollars in level flight and guidance tech into the plane, it still takes a lot of skill and the price bracket rises beyond their target demographic. A very bad news article a must agree. Citing the video description, the plane "is small and light enough to be parked and transported like a large car"; that doesn't mean that it is a flying car. Sure, the plane has folding wings (not shown in this video, but in others available a freevideo dot rt dot com slash video slash 3139), the prop is "fenced" by the tailbooms and horizontal stabilizer, but you can't run the engine with the wings folded, so you can't "drive" out to the roads
