does the lyra have motion detection? also is there anyway to have it record with an input (i.e. car alarm)?

i am looking for something like the lyra to record the interior of my car with motion detection or when the alarm goes off.

@smkdog435 thanks 4 answering my comment . i just opened its box yesterday LOL. i try to record with a but it says that there no video signal present or something like that. i was so eager to try it that i didn't read the manual instructions. lol i think i have to read that first lol.

I've got two of these and really like them. I don't use them as much any more as I've got two V.I.O. POV1's but they still work great.

Two issues with them is that the software on the CD is outdated and RCA no longer supports this unit.

no software is needed. just drop and drag the files. the lyra works great with thermal imaging cameras to video record the output signal.

Does this unit poses a function to turn off the LCD screen when recording? I plan to utilize this while in paintball type games where keeping the dvr unit safe from impact is key. For example, I begin recording and stow away the dvr in a utility pouch while engaged and retrive the unit forewards to end recording.

it,s better then the video transferter from pinnacle cuzz it lacks a lcd screen so you,re blind recording.

also you can only watch your recorded video,s on a computer,with this one you see what you,re doing.

Assuming the battery pack is sitting in the bottom of a backpack, how much mic cable is available to run to the top of the backpack?

Do you have any video in action actually made with the bulletcam through a recorder? I see the head samples on the porch, but I mean bike, motorcycle or snowmobile.
