I really wanted to go on this ride at Disney World, but the wait was 100 MINUTES LONG! <:( Oh, well. I can only experience it (sort of) by watching videos. I love the music in this. It has three of my favorite Disney songs: "How Do You Do?", "Ev'rybody Has a Laughing Place", and, of course, "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah".

I was too freaked out the entire time. how do they let children on this ride? it's a fucking chant of animals telling you that you're gonna die, watch out! and then it's a fifty foot drop and what's more disorienting, at the bottom, there's more disturbing singing and dancing animals. I was both mentally and physically paralyzed for the rest of the day.
Dude, either you were 5, or you're extremely chicken. I went on this when I was about 8, and I loved it, it wasn't all that scary. I spent time on the ride preparing for the drop, it 'asted 2 seconds, and it was over. Nothin all that bad

Well its just a personal opinion I guess. I've always have gone to Disney World pretty much all my life, just this past month was I blessed to go to Disneyland. Id say its better in WDW because its side by side seating, you dont get as wet, and it goes slower while you inside giving you enough time to soak up the story about Brer Rabbit and co. The one in DL is nice, it has more Animatronics and stuff, but you go by them so quickly it kinda defeats the purpose of having so many.
I know this may not do it any justice, but have you watched vids of the SM in WDW? It cant really replace actually being there but its like the next best thing.

you know about the miniature drops on the inside of the cave before the finalone In ontario place they were about the size of the small ones and I was scared to go on them, I went on this ride and guess what happened at the final drop ( LOL when I tried to scream it came out a uh)

alot of people think that the audio animatronics on splash mountain are water proof. but theyre not. notice at 3:58 , 5:26 , and 7:35 that they are the end of all 3 drops but there is quite a distance before you go near an audio animatronic. that is to keep them from getting wet and breaking
I imagine they're at least somewhat waterproofed or, at the very least, water resistant. The nature of the ride requires it. Inside the ride itself is actually pretty wet. They're somehow protected, I can tell you that
What I did on the big drop was turn my head back - and I didn't feel a thing! That jumpy feeling in your stomach goes away, and if you just look back with your head, but keep your body forward, you don't feel any motion (not that the motion is bad).
i can tell you this, its definately not thurl becauseif you look on a haunted mansion vid and listen tothe bust that looks like walt disney, the voice is much lower in pitch

My dad and the Latin kids that I eat lunch with will be happy to come on to this ride that my Auntie Joy who is also my godmother loves for Grad Nite. Do NOT worry we'll put our stuff into some plastic bags so that way they won't get wet as we scream and go down inside the log. I'm taking my friends (Latin kids that I eat lunch with because I wanted to give them the conception of the characters/animals from the 1946 film, Song Of The South.
I'm going on this 1 again with my parents at night this summer because we got very wet last time in the day time when my dad's wallet went missing and got soaked. We'll cover them in plastic.
Man, loved this. I was on it in the very middle seat (or 3rd from front, something like that) and got nothing on me the whole time. Plus, at night, nobody was there, so we got to ride it 10 times straight =D
It is a good idea if you don't want to have wet clothes all day you should bring a second pair to change into after you go on the ride. You will get soaked on this ride so plan ahead.
Well this ride is very fun, especially with all the animatronics, but sometimes there are sudden drops (in the dark especially) that will make your stomach go in your throat.. and at the end there is this huge 50 foot drop that feels WAYYY more steeper and longer than it does on the video. so yeah it's really fun but don't ride it if you're a scaredy cat, cuz it might be dangerous to your health LOL
well the point of the lack of safety (well not really cuz your seat is pretty low and the sides of the log go up really high) is so you feel like the drop is steeper. like most disney rides, the only real ways you can get hurt is if the ride malfunctions (which is kinda rare) and you do something on your own free will (ie standing up)
This is actually the music from the Florida version of the ride...the California version has an orchestra score. (I actually like the Florida music better though...it sounds more southern with the banjos and guitars)

LOL at Brer Bear shaking his butt when his nose landed in the beehive, sat on his butt as he laughed at the same time. So scary when Brer Fox tied Brer Rabbit up in rope.
WOW!!! The last time I went there (June 2007) I sat in the front... every inch of me got wet... It took me 3 hrs to get completely dry... later in the day, I bought some sourvernirs, and the cashier asked me "JUST COMING FROM SPLASH MOUNTAIN??" because my money was all wet (Well... my whole wallet got wet)... I just love this ride...
This Splash Mountain in Disneyland seems quite a bit different than the one in WDW. I have only ridden the one in Florida. However, this version seems better.
I KNOW THE SECRET OF NOT SCREAMING DURING THE WATERFALL. You lean your head forward into the seat in front of you...unless you like to scream. I do on occasion. Makes rides funner!

they did change it to more of a 'roller coaster-type' drop that now gets you a little more wet. the air-time is pretty cool on it now as well.

The gator that closed its jaws to trap Brer Fox's tail in his mouth as Brer Bear comes to rescue him with big pulling force and hyperactivity was broken because for a possibility that the wiring was damaged and/or the shock absorbers/cables didn't work right.

My dad and the Latin kids that I eat lunch with will be happy to come on to this ride that my Auntie Joy who is also my godmother loves for Grad Nite. Do NOT worry we'll put our stuff into some plastic bags so that way they won't get wet as we scream and go down inside the log. I'm taking my friends (Latin kids that I eat lunch with because I wanted to give them the conception of the characters/animals from the 1946 film, Song Of The South.

I'm going on this 1 again with my parents at night this summer because we got very wet last time in the day time when my dad's wallet went missing and got soaked. We'll cover them in plastic.

Man, loved this. I was on it in the very middle seat (or 3rd from front, something like that) and got nothing on me the whole time. Plus, at night, nobody was there, so we got to ride it 10 times straight =D

It is a good idea if you don't want to have wet clothes all day you should bring a second pair to change into after you go on the ride. You will get soaked on this ride so plan ahead.

Well this ride is very fun, especially with all the animatronics, but sometimes there are sudden drops (in the dark especially) that will make your stomach go in your throat.. and at the end there is this huge 50 foot drop that feels WAYYY more steeper and longer than it does on the video. so yeah it's really fun but don't ride it if you're a scaredy cat, cuz it might be dangerous to your health LOL

well the point of the lack of safety (well not really cuz your seat is pretty low and the sides of the log go up really high) is so you feel like the drop is steeper. like most disney rides, the only real ways you can get hurt is if the ride malfunctions (which is kinda rare) and you do something on your own free will (ie standing up)

in the log there is a little underhook in the floor that I always tuck my feet into cause I fell like im gonna fly out. haha

This is actually the music from the Florida version of the ride...the California version has an orchestra score. (I actually like the Florida music better though...it sounds more southern with the banjos and guitars)

I go on this ride VERY often. Heres the "seating info":
Very Front - Soaked, mostly hair and upper body
Middle Front - upper body, some water in hair, but most water on pants and in shoes.
Middle - Most water on legs and feet.
Middle Back - Almost dry, but with some occasional water in your shoes and shoulders (from the splash and waves)
Very Back - Dry.
Hope that helps!

Right before or right after summer. We go in April, May or sometimes in mid September. When we went in mid Jan. the line were also short.

LOL at Brer Bear shaking his butt when his nose landed in the beehive, sat on his butt as he laughed at the same time. So scary when Brer Fox tied Brer Rabbit up in rope.

WOW!!! The last time I went there (June 2007) I sat in the front... every inch of me got wet... It took me 3 hrs to get completely dry... later in the day, I bought some sourvernirs, and the cashier asked me "JUST COMING FROM SPLASH MOUNTAIN??" because my money was all wet (Well... my whole wallet got wet)... I just love this ride...

This Splash Mountain in Disneyland seems quite a bit different than the one in WDW. I have only ridden the one in Florida. However, this version seems better.

I KNOW THE SECRET OF NOT SCREAMING DURING THE WATERFALL. You lean your head forward into the seat in front of you...unless you like to scream. I do on occasion. Makes rides funner!
