  • Great video. From looking at Google maps I think I have a general idea of where you were. Do you know what time of the year they are found there? I'd love to get some photos.

  • @all4golf Hi there, the eagles return in the second week of March, usually by then they are starting to be seen and building on the nest. They are seen by the nest from early March until the second week of August, after that usually the young have fledged their feathers and left the nest. If you Google Cleveland Metroparks, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Pinery Narrows- you should get a phone number and website somewhere in there, that you can call for eagle info before you get there. Good luck!

  • Great footage - another 5 stars for patience and perseverance!!!

    SuzyQ

  • @suzyqplacet Thank you Suzy - be sure you see the video of the young eagles, two are in the nest as of right now, from this pair!

  • Whoa!! It was built in 1881!!?? The snow is sooo beautiful! How far is the canal?

  • @SmokeyClaws This part of the Cuyahoga Valley has a 20 mile section of the canal, with water still in it- it is right on the other side of the bridge, the little waterfall I show in this video is emptying into what used to be an Ohio canal.

  • I like that you shared your walk with us and some of the interesting sights there were to see. The eagles are so grand. It was great to see the one leaving the nest. I watched that part over and over. They are amazing.

  • I am glad that you enjoyed this- actually I have more footage to post, I also have the eagel flying up to the nest and sitting there for quite a while with the mate- I was surprised at that myself, but I will be posting that soon. If they have eaglets I want to try to get shots of the young one, but i really don't have the lens for that- you should see the huge telephoto lens I have seen folks with this week, you can imagine!

  • Your "little camera" did the perfect job here.I saw what type of camera you use:and it's terific that you can get such good shots without getting too near:and disturbing them.

    They are beautiful birds.

  • They certainly are, Tuks , and there are a lot of interesting animals there in the park to capture on video.

  • This is great. How you introduce the place:show the water cascading:and to see those eagles.Wow! So majestic in flight and you caught them perfectly.

Did you notice at 2:18 how the he ruffles his tail end:as if to say"Hang on.Get me looking just right!" And you did BB.

  • I feel very fortunate to be able to film these birds right here, in the wild and I am hoping they have successful young this year. They are huge when they fly, it has been hard to catch them soaring overhead with my little camera.!

  • Never seen these birds so close up. And the fact that this couple stays quite comfortable, means that the environment around is dutifully preserved. But I know that they are so shy when they see people, they tend to hide. But it's a good shot really!

  • You are right, the environment there is carefully preserved- these are all taken at the highest power zoom on my camera. Thye have eggs now, when the eaglets hatch the trail vounteers ask people to move along to not stress the birds. Thank you for saying it was a good shot!

  • Perfect eagle captures... I love watching them.

  • I love watching them too, if the chick hatches this year there will be some videos I promise!

  • This cool we have a nest here we need to go check out you can walk all the way up to it .I saw some people parked under the tree the other day and they didn't even notice the nest! :)

  • That's hard for me to imagine, here the nest is on the other side of a large canal, there are signs posted to not even walk to the canal to get that close, and the rangers and trail monitors even politely ask that folks move along if they see you stand there too long so as not to disturb the birds. The nest is huge too, I bet that you can get some nice shots then!

  • Hey I think the one on the branch by the other nest is actually the female. I got a picture of that one too.

WHERE IS MY FILLET OF FISH. SEE YOU ON THE TRAIL. TAKE CARE,

    Lee,

  • It could be the female, the zoom on my camera only goes so far and my animal I.D.'s lately have not been so hot- lol ok not going to let me get away with the comment, are you, ha ha ha- see you on the trail. You take care,

    BB

  • Those birds are gorgeous! The voice is nice on this video, don't worry. You have very nice speaking voice.

  • Hi Hanna, thanks glad you liked the birds here!

  • Such a regal bird.... beatiful as always BBW.....

  • Thanks Robin, I love your videos by the sea too, interesting creatures all over this planet for sure!

  • Such a Beautiful place! Eagles don't come as much here anymore... haven't seen one in years. Great filming! Rad

  • Thanks for the comment Rad, is there still drought conditions your way? , lack of water might have changed the eagle's habitat.

  • Beautiful location. Great to see the Bald Eagles. Why are they named Bald Eagles?

  • The white heads and the brown bodies led them to be named "bald" eagles from the word "piebald" . Piebald is a reference to the contrast of the brown and white feathers on the eagle. It takes a few years for them to get white head and tail feathers, the young are all brown.

  • I see. Thanks.

  • i was looking at this again and himself thinks thats a georgeous place and would love too go and see the eagles and walk the hounds there LOL , Im sure the last thing they need too disturb the peace is our mad dog but its a grreat video will pm, xxxxs Cathy

  • Hiya Cathy, our parks are a great place I think obviously, and even the mad dog is welcome he he the long walk would do her well- she just needs to be on a leash in the park. There are many folks walking dogs there every day! It gets muddy and brown this time of year but soon it's gorgeous again.... I don't know how Mick would feel about Cleveland the city, but our parks sure are nice that's true!

  • Good to see a bit of the area where you are able to see such beautiful eagles. And of course the part with them, and particularly when they fly away is simply GREAT. Good work BB, 10 stars

  • I appreciate the compliments, especially when your videos also are so cool and of high quality- glad that I am able to show the eagles and hope that it will help people remember they are precious and need to be respected. Wow 10 stars, thanks!

  • Fantastic footage and id say it was cold brrrrrrrrrrrrrr im going too ask one of the dumbest questions those balls in the tree i suppose thats a natural sort of pod or something it just i never saw that here, those are magnificent birds and a huge nest and the scenery its all amazing too see and its great too hear you tell it the history of the place , that will be one full nest of hungry birds hopefully love it and into the favs its a lonesome walk there id be wary but its beautifull Cathy

  • Hiya Cathy, yes it was cold there when the wind started, the path runs north/south and the north wind yikes... and loud too . The balls in the trees are seed pods, I am not sure what type of tree but you are right, the trees are all in the way there and once the leaves come in it is hard to get that shot. I love the scenery down there it changes a lot as you can imagine with the seasons. Actually there are trail rangers and I met a professional photographer there, you're not alone for long.

  • Great Footage

  • Thank you, I thought you might enjoy watching this!
