RE: The obelisk was gone when Dr. Reed returned to the site. As for 'Freddie' the alien, he escped from the house when he heard it being trashed by people looking for his body. He managed to stagger out the garage door despite his serious head injury. He did not have his armlet thing so i dont know how, or if, he got back to his ship (the obelisk), neither does Dr. Reed. The Dr. still has the actual armlet, which is probably like a 'key' for the obelisk (craft object).
