kinda off subject but i have always wanted to leave in japan and i have watched some of your vids. and i was wondering since you live in japan i wanted to know if the people are as nice as everyone says?
this was one of the most beautiful places i have been japan. also to be able to step into the same castle as such historical figures like "tom cruise" have...WOW! lol jk
Minor correction however... Most of what we know as Himeji Castle was originally built in the late 1500's and middle 1600's. While it is true the foundations of the main stonework goes back to the mid-1300's the castle's primary design is from the end of the sengokujidai and early tokugawa periods. Just FYI.

Himeji is awesome! A nice 1 hour train ride from Osaka. I love the top of the castle and looking down. Breathtaking views!

Love your Memoirs of a Gaijin there, Slade! I'm surprised there weren't any vending machines in Himeji Castle! ;)
