  • This recipe was awesome !!! I tried it and loved it although two Scotch bonnet peppers were too much for some people. I like it spicy, Awesome!!!!!

  • Mi can almost smell di seasning dem tru di screen star.

  • I made this tonight it was the bomb!!!! So so good! Everyone loved it. Thanks :) I made it with the peas n rice and some shrimp n crab Callaloo

  • I'm making this now and it smells AMAZING. My boyfriend requested that I make it and I don't regret it at all. PLEASE tell us next time if we have to cook it with the lid on or off and tell us what temperature we have to cook it on (high, low). Thank you sooo much for a wonderful recipie

  • now i'm hungry.

  • that is a huge kitchen

  • Please get that plant out of your face...

  • And there really should be more diversity on the American Food Network. Get a Jamaican woman to show you how to cook :)

  • I'm going to make Shrimp Curry tonite!

    Thank you for this video

  • I love you

  • I added butter beans to the chicken 30 minutes before it finished.

  • I tried this recipe, it came out perfectly ! Thanks a mil.....

  • if you do not happen to live in a city that sells most Jamaican spices and products you can get them from grace foods or amazon( add the dot com). grace, walkerswoods, Indian head are just some of the most trusted and well versatile Jamaican brands.

  • looks good

  • Awesome!!! Going to attempt to make this dish tonight along with peas and rice and sweet plantains!!!

  • You are so beautiful! And your cooking is DIVINE!

  • Is the difference between Jamaican Curry Powder and Standard Curry Powder the spice I think it is? :D

  • @gevelegian Not really it's just that jamaican curry powder is alil more spicy (more black pepper) than normal curry powder. It's the same flavor just one is alil more spicy.

  • Great curry chicken recipe. Once you get over the brutality of butchering, it is easy from there. Anyone who rarely cuts whole chickens knows what I mean. Also, get a knife with some weight. Otherwise you'll really have to saw.

  • Looks good. I Love Jamaican food. Do ya have a recipe for Beef Patties?

  • I've always been bugging my Jamaican boyfriends to teach me this recipe.... but i finally came to your video! Thank you so much, its in the fridge and im sure its gonna be amazing. (I added some cauliflower and carrots because of limited potatoes.)

  • My Nigerian self is gonna learn how to make this! Just for my boyfriend, am gonna integrate his love of Jamaican food into my culinary know-how. Watching this i have become more confident in my attempt to make it for the first time tomorrow. We'll see how it goes...hopefully well! Thank you.

  • Good recipe thanks. I just cooked it.

  • Lime juice and water does not remove "impurities" it actually spreads bacteria and causes cross contamination. Cooking the chicken is enough to kill bacteria. I'm just saying.

  • @jboxx23 stop HATIN mutha fucka! Let the girl do her job. This is a recipie that has not cross contaminated an entire Jamaican race of beautiful people - if you can't say anything nice shut the fuck up! Let the tradition live forward! Im just saying

  • @sacreddragon69 you have a nasty mouth... get some class

  • @jboxx23 you don't follow direction very well do you?

Grow up and do something with your life.

  • @sacreddragon69 Ok I will, just waiting on my results from the July NY Bar. How about you?

  • @jboxx23 Can't mess with that. Hell I may need you one day. All good. You made your point. Point well taken Counselor.

  • @sacreddragon69 haha, its all good man...

  • this was cute lol

  • Miss i think you have a pimple on your farhead

  • Iv'e done this recipe bout 3 times now. My husband loves it. until tifannyw30 wrote her comment i never understood what type of peppers she was saying. Thanks Tiffany. Ever thought about scrolling the ingredients and the measurements? That would help.

  • Can someone tell me if there are any differences between jamaican curry chicken and trini curry chicken. I've had some from jamaicans but never from trinis

  • @Reddboi4211 - I don't find trini curry and Jamaican curry to be different. The difference how much hot sauce nis used.

  • nothin better than watchin a fly ass jamaican honey cook up some shit

  • @davidg921 don't be disgusting, she was cooking chicken, not shit.

  • I love all jamaican recipe i use jamaican curry.im not a jamaican.im salvadorian

  • mi unghy now,ya kno...

  • When I made this something was missing. I think the curry powder I had was not good. It was a little bland and it didn't help that I used 3 of those hot peppers. It was super hot.

  • @fobertson same freakin problem, cept I used 1 and a half chopped up.

  • @fobertson - there's different levels of curry. Mild, medium, and hot.

  • how thick does it have 2 be ?

  • OMG! I just made this, soooooooooooo delicious! Thank so much for sharing the receipe.

  • Verry good recipe... just made it, but with chicken wings... tasted deicious. Modified some of the fresh ingredients, used minced and powder garlic... and dry thyme.. but still tasted wonderful! and i couldnt find any Scotch bonnet peppers, but i used orange habenero and it still tasted okay. But im on a search for the real one.. my mom has some, but its cold and didnt feel like getting them!

  • Yep that's what i'm having in a few minutes lol. My wife is African and has never made this before, I showed her the video and voilà, it will be ready in a few lol. Smells good, of course the more she makes it, the better it will be each time lol

  • Again, hats off to you I will be making this curry chicken and the rice and peas today. Thank You

  • I thought your video was very nice. You explained what you were doing, You had everything all set up. The video is easy to follow and I feel that most viewers if not all should be able to prepare this meal without any problems. Keep doing what your doing!

  • can you use mild curry powder

  • where do you buy the jamaican curry powder ? in uk london

  • whats the difference between jamaican (west indian)curry powder and indian/pakistani curry powder?

  • @Arcturo767 The Jamaican west Indian powder gives you more of an authentic "Jamaican" curry chicken taste.. The Indian/Pakistani curry powder blend will give you a somewhat different taste, due to the different spices blended in the curry powder. All curry powder blends are truly not the same.. for example Goya's curry powder blend has mustard in it, and some indian types of curry has cloves in it..

  • @beatifullady100 ok thanks i will look out for some west indian curry powder then and hopefully my dish will taste better.

  • gonna try this recipe for a party!

  • I love when chefs love their own cooking! (-:

  • just a side note, if you use scotch bonnet peppers use gloves...if the oil from the pepper get on your skin it will burn like crazy. I learned this the hard way on my last trip to Jamaica

  • Im subing jus from this one vid... yumm

  • I don't have all the indgredients but u are hot!

  • I think Jamaica curry is the best in the world. And I'm not Jamaican.

    Its sooo good! ^_^

  • Awesome!

    K.

  • You need to come to Trinidad to taste a great curry chicken ;-)

  • Made this recipe yesterday and it is perfect! I just wish they had the recipe for the bread to make roti :(

  • DAM! She's so FINE!!!

  • btw, if you find that some of the caribbean curry powders are a little bitter, you can use plain curry power, or half and half :)

  • Love your style of cooking! For dyaonna, you can find curry power in any west india store or your nearest supermarket. Then again it depends on your neighborhood.

  • Wonderful

  • As a chef, (train in Italy) I've always loved and wanted to work with curry. Thanks for sharing. Funny, the one and only time I did try curry powder, it was horrible; I'll give this a go. Looks great! Whats in the rice?

  • @MrTjcomedy Jamaican curry is different from Indian or Asian curry.

  • Good job thanks

  • thanks very much for this video, i followed it to a T and hmmmmmmmmmmmmm it was finger lickin goood. although i bought chicken pieces cos me no know how ta cut chicken like u.

  • ITs Qucker to cut open chicken from its belly than back. try it mon!!!!

  • @Adveloq Tracy did say Jamaican Curry powder. These recipes are straight foward, I understood her completely. Jamaican Curry powder is a staple in Jamaican cooking.

  • silly question...do you take the seeds out the scutch bonnet???

    scallion is spring onion right??

  • @billyairdjnr yh u need to take th seeds out unless u want it really hot,and yes scallion is spring onion :)

  • Anyone who thinks "6 tablespoons of curry powder" sounds intelligent in an ingredients list is retarded. There are so many different mixes of curry powders, probably more than there are curry chefs. If you're going to make a recipe, that anyone is going to be able to replicate, use the actual spices, don't use pre-bought mixes.

  • @Adveloq Tracy did say Jamaican Curry powder. These recipes are straight foward, I understood her completely. Jamaican Curry powder is a staple in Jamaican cooking.

  • @Adveloq

so you cook everything from scratch then...

  • @billyairdjnr

Everything? No. But I don't generally use spice mixes and refer to them in recipies.

  • @Adveloq A great deal of professional chefs use store bought powder. A lot of jamaican's use store bought powders. Indian's and japanese as well. There are so many ways to make a good curry blend and it is a matter of taste. If a person is watching a youtube video for making curry chicken, chances are they arent savvy enough to make their own powder and there is also a good chance they do not give a rats ass on how authentic their powder is so long as it tastes good with key ingredients.

  • Is this girl the only one ON HERE or what??!? This is like the FIFTH one I've randomly clicked on from the links. Each time I'm like "Oh no, not HER again." I'm trapped!! Next video I click on will be the same. It'll be "Here's how you make jamaican cornflakes. Lemme guess...5 sprigs of thyme, 1 teaspoon salt, yadda yadda"

  • Nice! Try adding some curry barbecue sauce to make the base of the sauce. You can also marinade the chicken in the CBQ and lightly grill it before adding into sauce.

  • i have one question. what is the name of that jamaican shrimp that is very red and sold in small zip loc bags, on the street, at goldencrust, etc

  • @anewmeePassion It's called "pepperd shrimp".I should warn you that the pepper will set your mouth on fire.

  • Comment removed

  • food 4 less

  • Thank you Tracy, you broke it down very well ^_^

  • i like to marinade mine over night that way the seasonings soak all the way through i like to put sweet peppers and tomatoes in mine too yours looks very good !!!

  • hiya copyed yr recipe but i needed 2 add more seasoning on my chicken eg all purpose, paprika etc....but thanks 4 the guide

  • where do you buy the jamaican curry powder ?

  • @dyaonna depend pon where you deh!!

  • @dyaonna if you live in a big city there is probably a West Indian grocery store somewhere near you, you could most probably get some there.

  • @dyaonna Curry isn't a powder. Curry is a dish.

  • @dyaonna amazon

  • @dyaonna I'm in Canada and just bought a huge container at Walmart.

  • @dyaonna - you can also find Jamaican curry poweder at jamacan restaurants as well as asian markets.

One of my best friends is from Jamaica, she doesn't have any family out here in Los Angeles and I wanted to cook her something that would not only taste great, but also pay homage to her country's rich and vibrant culture and I think your recipe would make Jamaica very proud! Ty Tracy!

  • Hm. I don't know what Jamaican curry powder is like. I guess it's hot. Mine is not hot. I added a spoon of chilly powder to it. I guess that's not going to ruin it. I left it overnight for seasoning. I'll check out the result tomorrow.

  • She's no joke, she cut up a whole chicken. I just buy the pieces!

  • yeah, she's good. I have the meat market cut it up... I've tried cutting it up myself.. Way too much work... I guess you gotta have a love for cooking to do all that.... My husband would love her... Lol
