@sw1000xg With perfect traction, a stock GT-R would be LUCKY to run a 10.7 at maybe 127mph. With perfect traction, a ZR1 will run mid or even low 10s at 130+mph all day long. It's simple, really. The ZR1's only problem is traction off the line. When it hooks up, it accelerates faster than any stock GT-R: FACT, as proven by trap speeds. When you solve the traction problem, the laws of physics will tell you that the more powerful and aerodynamic car will be faster every time, period.
@sw1000xg No, not fact, just your opinion. Personally, I trust a couple of very, VERY well-known drag strip pros far more than I do I publication KNOWN for sandbagging cars to make JDMs look faster.
YOU are the one making all the excuses here. The GT-R has nearly perfect traction off the line no matter where it is. So putting it on a drag strip won't make much of a difference, and THAT is more telling than anything else.
@sw1000xg Also, drag strips are not "full of rubber", they're sprayed with a special type of glue that helps provide maximum traction. However, drag strips don't help the GT-R much, since it barely has any wheelspin off the line in the first place. The best I've seen for a stock R35 is a 10.9 at MIR, which is just a couple 10ths off of what it's run on normal road surfaces.
And where's your proof that this ISN'T a stock ZR1? I've seen more than enough proof that it is.
@sw1000xg So, showing some guys checking tires and suspension is suddenly proof? Once again, all you have is their word and some EDITED footage. Also, weren't you one of the people who claimed Motor Trend was being bias towards the Z06 because they were an American mag, on an American track, with an American driver in an American car? So, now it's okay when it's a Japanese mag, on a Japanese track, with a Japanese driver in a Japanese car? Double standard, much?
Just goes to shows what a good driver can do. The Magazine tests are usually on some dirty test track that used to be an old run way. Big dif on a real track.
@Tupples1 It is true. I know this guy from the corvette forum and the car is completely bone stock. Kyle just made the front cover of vette magazine because he is the world record holder for stock ZR1 quarter mile. Go out and get a copy.
