Moto Corsa's trackday yesterday reminded me of when OMRRA used these "old" pits back in the early 90's. Although I do like the new inside pits. Still, I kind of miss the old pits, and with the bikes starting line on the drag strip right in front of you, the crowds seem to be less spread out and more packed than usual that way. You also saw who won the race with the finish line being right at T9. Cool video!
this is roadracing for the states- even if it's on a closed track. I raced this track in 2000 on a 600. I got up to 150 on the front straight and 120 on back straight. Other than turn 9? it is a very safe and fun track.
Although i love the sound of the engines alone. But if you want to hear that, go to the track to hear it. As far as internet vids go, music adds SO much to them. MUCH more than it takes away.
this isnt real road racing ,its on a circuit ,real road racing is held on closed public roads like the north west 200 and ulster grand prix in northern ireland.
As near as I could tell, the front two rows just pulled away from the rest after the first lap. And by the time you worked your way through traffic, the front of the pack was long gone. Were they riding higher displacement bikes, different class, pro racers or what? Your skills looked pretty good to me and the lead 8 or 9 just left everyone else behind.
The front two rows are the best racers in the NW on the latest generation 750cc with built supersport motors. I was on a 03 RC51 with a bone stock motor. At PIR there is no way I could keep up with them on my bike. My results in the Open Twins Class race are much better. I raced the 750 SS class for fun.
Cool, I don't really race, I just do track days @ Pacific Raceways in Seattle, & like I said, your skills looked pretty good to me and yet these riders left everyone behind. My skills are not bad, probably on the level of the mid-pack racers. (I've been riding street sportbikes for 22yrs),
Watching this video and seeing the lead-pack pull away like that just confirms in my mind that I would never be able to compete professionally, especially at my age! :P
Wow, the move past 2 riders into the first turn on the second lap was great! Nice vid! At the start I was thinking you were just a novice rider in a field of professionals, then as the race went on, wow, you systematically took back every place on the grid and finished chasing open track! Great riding! Great vid!
Does anyone know if Dave cook is still racing. I remember him winning a national at pir. Watching him back a zx6 in to turn 7 every lap was just amazing.
The other half of riding school, breaking, and coming off the turns for a better run down each straight. Last to first on video, great job riding guy!!
I used to do this..gettin' older, but I thought you were very smooth, and I really liked the way you picked off riders in front of you. Good job, and keep the "shiny side up"!

Why is it that the posters have to put STUPID MUSIC over the beautiful engine sounds?

I saw "road racing portland oregon" and thought "shit, there's road racing in the states" but this is track racing.
Check out the North West 200 or Mid Antrim. Good example of what Road Racing really is.

Dave Cook was before my time. He must have been very good because he won the #1 plate at OMRRA back in 1999. I don't think he races bikes anymore.
