  • Dang but is Loretta good at Pyramid! I've watched 4 clips now and she and her partner have won each one!

  • Dear GameShowLuvr,

    You're Right! Mr.Osmond is an A-!

  • I don't know whose more happier..the contestant who won..or Ms.Swit.

  • "Clothes for a trip" is acceptable in this case as a clue. She couldnt have said "a trip's clothes" because it's not grammatically correct - its not illegal - its just not correct. "Clothes for a trip" would have been unacceptable if the category was perhaps Things That Are Packed because you pack clothes for a trip. You don't "case" clothes for a trip, you put clothes IN a case so it was correct and allowed and they gave her the money. Hope this makes sense. It's a very subtle, fine point.

  • @DISCOVEGASGUY

But not in the 80's, 90's and the recent version of pyramid.

  • Hot Lips!!!

  • Except Family Feud used the $25,000 winnings cap and The Better Sex had a $36,000 limit I think and Double Dare had the honor of being the only CBS game show to use the ABC winnings cap of $20,000.

  • $2475, well, the $20,000 win equals all of the $2475 is gone and you leave with $20,000. Why?

  • @Ivoryman1986 CBS and ABC had prize limits on game shows after the Quiz Show Scandals. At the time, the most anyone could win on an ABC game show was $20,000.

  • They were more lenient with the prepositions in the 70's.

  • "Clothes for a trip" should have been buzzed.

  • $20,000 Pyramid these were allowed. Later it would not be.

  • Why? She never said anything that was in the answer. Why should it have been an illegal clue?

  • Because clothes "for a trip" is descriptive. Trip clothing should be allowed, however. It's just a picky little thing, but for the show to have consistent with their judging, they should have buzzed it. They tended to buzz any clue with a preposition after the noun on most episodes. But I know what u mean....

  • Wow wee!!!! This win took place over 31 years ago, Great win!

  • They should have done Larry Linville and Loretta Swit.

  • that would have been good!! I would have loved to have seen it especially if they would play IN character :)

  • Donnymid BLOWS

  • Better than horrific Card Sharks 2001.

  • True.

  • Donnymid FAILS...

  • @richie19190 Donnymid is ASS...

  • This is why I love "The Pyramid" not "Donnymid"

  • A stored violin... a lawyer's documents... "Deal or No Deal" money amounts...

  • Great Win, but Loretta should have been buzzed for the descriptive clue. None of the less, thanks for posting this great memory.

  • Richie 19190 I was going to say the same thing. If it was the later versions she will had been buzz for sure. I am surprise she never played on the $25,000 and $100,000 Pyramid.

  • isn't Clothes for a Trip descriptive? She should have a Trip's Clothes

  • It must have been legal back then.

  • The 70s version was much more lenient with judging. There's a clip up here where Tony Randall says "Stuffings in little bottles of pills" for "Things Made of Cotton"...

  • @FBCDJ1620am Allowed in the 70's. Disallowed once they moved back to CBS.
