Facts are that Solar is very expensive. Would you pay 16 times the going rate for gasoline that comes from a GREEN soarce. Wait for it NO. Then why would you pay 80 cents a kilowatt for electricity that is only generated on sunny days. This puts nothing in the average owners pocket,

@comfyfur...Where do you get the facts that solar is unreliable?  Other countries have been utilizing solar power for decades. What, the sun never shines?? In order to build an infrastructure for a solar industry there has to be investment. The investment is putting money back into the average home owners pocket while building a clean, reliable electricity system. Learn the facts!

In principle, there is nothing wrong with solar. But it is insane to be paying 44¢ to 80¢ a kilowatt hour when peak retail rates are under 10¢ and wholesale rates under 4.

Show me one factory that is powered by solar. What, only operate when the sun shines? That, of course, is the nub of the problem. In Ontario, solar is not replacing coal, because it is unreliable. We are building natural gas generation facilities for back up. And most coal pollution comes from the US.

@comfyfur Thanks for being honest. Solar is a big scam. Obama is having 100 Oil fired stations converted to coal, why? Because coal keeps America off of imported oil and provides good paying jobs for Americans. Smog day? Then the wind is blowing from the south west. Do you think Ontario has enough industry between Lake Erie and Toronto to produce enough smog to warrent an alert. NO. Wind from the North the air is clear. This is just a bunch of bunk.
