Surprisingly the fullness and timbre of her voice in this part as compared with the sharpness and harshness in The Erlking. Different but not better than lets say Julia Hamari singing Erbarme mich.
This is different from the others. Von Otter has the courage to deviate from established modes. She goes new ways rather than complying with a pre-existing standard. There emerge impressions from her interpretation which cannot arise from the best other renditions, for instance by Hamari. This is a merit and enriches every listener, who loves the potential variance of Bach. With regard to the tempo: it is quite natural that a nervous voice should be quicker than a voice of pure sadness.
For me this is a most fascinating interpretation, like the other pieces of the album. It's music for all people for all times. This rendition is congenial, without romanticism and a phrasing capturing people of our time.
Never to forget such a voice makes the musicians in complete association !!!
But the voice leads !!!!!
Thanks Sofie !!!!

Lovely! Part of Bach's greatness is that he can shine through many different types of interpretation.

Lars Ulrik Mortensen is specialised in historic performance practice: this rendition is an urgent cry for mercy.

@vanimcampos From Anne Sofie von Otter's discography I guess it is the Chicago Symphony under Sir Georg Solti, in 1988.

To fast, not in good balance.
This is a highly emotional piece of music.
A race through of poor judgement of
interpretation.
