  • goodyfan you should use something that is soothing & antibacterial that's appropriate for area you've waxed to prevent skin infection. And also after first 24 Hrs exfoliate waxed area for a few days with a Loofa spelled?? anyway to help prevent ingrown hairs.

  • imorganoo try spreading paste then rubbing a piece of clean cotton strip over paste then rip off strip quickly for shorter hair it may help. and if you ever try a Brazilian make sure you trim hair short before waxing or it will be like trying to get gum out of a carpet and you have to rip hard! I screamed so loud my grand kids came running and tried getting in room they thought I was dying. I MEAN OOOOOUCH!!!!!!

  • I cooked mine for too long.-.

  • Thanksss !!!.I'm going to try this see if it works!.;)...bcuz I got some really thick hairy legsss!..

  • My sugar gets kind of hard when I leave it out. And then I try to heat it up in the microwave it gets TOO hot! Any suggestiions?

  • do you have to lay on a pan like that for cooling

  • Thanks for the info. But I couldn't stop staring at your dirty house. Disgusting!

  • it's soooooo messy, so i gave up.

  • I'm going to try this! Thanks for the tutorial.

  • thar's easy, just fill water in it and wait. It is suggar so it will get liquid again after a while (I just let it in the sink during a night)

  • @Misscrazylollipop You should always check to make sure your sugar is completely cool before you put it on your skin.

  • Is the amount the same if you use brown sugar?

  • omg for ur first batch u did the perfectcoulour most of them is all looking black'

  • I got so fucking burned by this fucking stuff

  • At the end did you say it's a great meth 0.o

  • thank you so much ! gonna do it now

  • hi! not sure if u are still answering questions re: this but just thought i'd try. I know the wax is supposed to be really sticky, but mine was to the point where it was really unmanageable and sticking on all my fingers. Once i was able to spread it i saw that it didn't grab much hair when i flicked it. is it bc i didn't cook mine long enough? Thx!

  • 250 Celcius?

  • @AssiieJj Farenheit, roughly 120 Celsius

  • mess in the room((((((

  • hi, thank you for the video :) how do you put the wax left, when you finish? does it stay soft or gets harder? and can you remove even the shorter hairs or you have to wait till they grow longer? thank you :D

  • what sugar did you use?

  • how do you make it so that you don't have to use the strips? i don't get it

  • how do you get rid of the wax off the pot -__-

mine doesn't wanna come off, lol.

  • @x0x0wetwet just soak it in water, the sugar will completely dissolve after a while

  • @x0x0wetwet Just run it under hot water its water soluble so it should just melt off.

  • Just for anyone who's curious I found that if you first scoop/pour out as much as you can, then fill the pot with water and bring it to a boil, it will dissolve the remaining sugar and you can easily pour the rest out.

  • so its only one cup of sugar not 2. since all other videos say its 2. I tried 2 cups today and it was tooo thick and I could not apply it!!

  • @Tanaz89 Thats was what also happened with me xD

  • can you wax between your eyebrows with this ?

  • clean your room cuz!!!

  • did it hurt?

  • thank youuuu♥ this method works great!

i have an electric stove so how i cooked it was: 8 minutes on medium, simmered for 8 minutes.

i cut up an old sheet and you can reuse those strips 3-4 times with the same wax!

after cooking, i waited around an 45 minutes before i used it.

  • this didnt work for me atall, the consistency was too liquid and i did everything you said in the video, very confused!

  • @ReneeHelena1 you needed to cook it longer then.

  • god your room is iraq. why don't u spend 10 min each day to make it possible to live in. how do u breath in this room.

    your room is

  • lemno juice can be replaced by pickel juice!! add tht

  • what sugar did you use? is it brown sugar or the white sugar?

  • @draxgo in this one she used white (:

  • thannks!!!!

  • i tried to make it today but i overcooked it so it was dark brown and as hard as candy ==" gotta try again!~

  • OK I tried like all the recipes in the Internet and yours is the only one that works! AND HOW! It came out exactly like it was supposed to, removes nearly all hair(there were like 5 tiny hairs i had to pluck on my leg) and OMG my skin is sooo smooth I just can't stop touching it! thank you so much!

  • Did you heat up the wax before using it or does it have to have such consistency when cool?

  • o KURWA

  • Lol i put it on my arm when it was too warm and it stuck instead of ripped off and i bruised myself but i got the hang of it and works great!

  • i mean it get stuck & when i want to remove it it live some blue marks and it hurts

  • just one simple note what should i do when i get those blue marks when i use sugar wax ?

  • wow thanks for this tutorial it really helps & hurt at the same time hhh just kidding ^^ anyways thank you so much for the precious advices

  • My leg hairs aren't long at all, and I went ahead and tried this..It wouldn't work for me yet:/ I've been excited to try this, but I can't let my leg hairs grow. haha I'm in volleyball!

  • How long did you wait after you made sugar wax to cool down and start to wax?

  • Followed your video/instructions and managed to make a great half-batch on my first try! :D I love this. At first I thought I burnt it, but once I tried it out, it worked great. Something I will say: I'm pretty sensitive, but it hurts quite a bit. Still, a LOT less than using an epilator, which I bought previously and ended up unable to use. It also takes me several tries to get an area, and some stubborn hairs just don't come out. Ultimately though, this is great (and wicked sticky). :) Thanks!

  • Using a phone to comment is frustrating. So much auto correct! o,o

  • Well, I've tried to skew this a few times now and only just got it right. My problem us that after using it just a few times it gets too warm and starts to stick to my skin. Could cooking it a little longer our sticking it in the fridge before using fix this or is this unavoidable?

  • Why do you have a cassette tape on the carpet? I thought those were extinct.

  • please for the love of god clean your room !

  • wow edible wax, this is great i can wax and eat at the same time lol

  • it stinks to high heaven when you cook it lol:D

  • Soz, I dont no what went wrong cuz it crystalized and went gritty :( do you have any idea what I did wrong?

  • Hi nice vid, tried to make it with only 1/2 the recipe cuz I was afraid I would ruin it

  • ale bałagan w tle...

  • OMG!!!! ur bedroom is soooo messy!!!! You don't have embarrassed???? Wow

BTW nice job tutorial and i will make. thank u :)

  • hallo, my wax is toooo sticky.. after 2 times its too warm and i cant remove it from my skin. what did i do wrong?

  • yay i made it and it worked! the first time it burnt but the second time i kept taking it off the heat every 10 seconds after it boiled to check the consistency and once it started getting yellow i ran some under cold water and checked if it was good and then that was it :) also i just eyeballed the sugar water and lemon juice since i wanted to make a small tester batch :) thanks for this!

  • Hi Amy! thank you a lot for the recipe!

How often do you do the waxing with this recipe?

(I do understand that it depends a lot on individual hair growth speed but still, it would be a useful piece of information for me)

  • thanks! this recipe is even better than wax bought at a store (which didn't work for me at all) and costs close to NOTHING! :)

  • Thx!!!

  • i'm gonna try it out in a minute!

  • Don't take it as an offense, but your pain putty is east to make but hard to use. It's a fun jump rope and weapon, but as a hair removal product, it's pretty annoying to use.

  • I tried this to get rid of my stocmach hair and worked! I was a bit confused when I had to apply on my skin; it was all gooey and wouldn't roll up like a chewed piece of gum. Then I kept trying to put it all back together and it eventually did. It was messy but you have to be patient. =P Nice vid!

  • i feel like i would probably make it and use however much is needed, and then eat the rest lol it looks delicious =D

  • ur hot

  • This really works!!! i just did both my legs...wohooo

  • It worked!..Being a south indian and it was perfect.

  • will this sugaring work like waxing? :o

  • @nadamonismua, you need to cook it longer. not boil it, but simmer so you could watch the color closely. once it looks light golden brown remove it from heat and test it out on a small patch of skin. if it's still too sticky, let it cook a little longer until you get the right consistency. if it gets too brown you have to start over.

  • Ok, it's me again... my wax is amber-coloured and it's melting in my fingers when I'm puting it on my skin... :/ what did I do wrong?

  • @Maskarada007 you probably didnt do anything wrong with the recipe. the thing is it happened to me to. its because the temperature in your house is too hot and it will melt the wax when it is cool it wont melt

  • @SistersOfTwo well, now I know why I always wanted to live in northern countries :P

    Thanks :)

  • can I clean up your room? :P

btw it's a really nice tutorial, thx :)

  • can i keep the wax and re use it? or do i have to keep re-making it each time? x

  • @tombraider0 well you can reuse the wax but keep it in a tight air container in a cool place

  • The stuff is either too sticky and it sticks onto my skin and I can't peel it off or doesn't even pull any hair and and just peels off. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

  • okay i know i keep commenting on this video, but the correct temp is 245 degrees, which is soft ball texture on the candy thermometer. the mixture should have bubbles in it, and the color should remind you of honey. if anyone needs help, feel free to inbox me.

  • @FilleDeFrancais I made the wax. The just keeps slipping off my leg. Wont grab hair, what did I do wrong?

  • @nadamonismua

    must cook longer

  • Comment removed

  • shollia, make sure you use scissors to cut any hair longer than 1/4 of an inch to make it less painful. when the hair is too long, they get stuck together in the wax and then it's impossible to get it off and you will be in serious pain. just trust me on this one

  • Awesome! Thanks :) I'm gonna try this as soon as my hair grows back out a bit - I just shaved yesterday!

  • Thanks for the video. Going to try this as soon as I build up enough nerve to give myself a bikini wax lol.

  • It seems like it doesn't work on soft hair, like the hair on the upper lip(not saying I have any). Unless its supposed to be kinda hot to stick. I tried it on soft hair and the hair doesn't come off. And another thing: it seems to work better without baby powder. I guess it's only for coarse or dark hair. And golkooria0, you should let it cool for 10-15 minutes. If you handle it too soon, it'll burn the mess out of your skin and sting for hours.

  • and how long do you leave it to cool once its ready??

5 minutes? cos i wouldnt want it to be too cold :S

  • i tried it this morning but it turned really stiff and dark in colour. when i pulled it up it ddnt form a ball, rather, it formed long golden strings.... i guess i overcooked it so ive left the pan in hot water, grease and soap.

cant wait to try it again though, and this time i'll be turning it off every 5 minutes!

  • jeez.. what a shit in your room :o

  • Sooooo.....my second batch came out wrong. When I put it on my skin, it was waaaay too sticky and thus did not come off like it did in the video. I had to scrub it off with a damp towel. Tried again with gloves, didn't work. Is it supposed to be 100% cooled off to work? If it's still even a little warm, will it be too sticky to apply? My mom doesn't want to me to use all her sugar, so I'm running out of chances.

  • I tried to make this once already and it came out too brown. My second time, it looks pretty decent so I hope it works. I wish I had a color indicator so I'd know if it's the right color or not. I want this method to work because I hate waxing--it's so painful! Thanks for putting up this video so I can keep trying until I run out of ingredients or patience, hahaha.

  • omg, i kept burning my sugar! im gonna try again tommorw, but I bassically wasted 4 cups of sugar

  • Thanks for the video! This is the most instructional one I've found on making this sugar wax -- it came the closest to working for me. Unfortunately, it still didn't totally work (right consistency, sounded & felt like it worked...but no) so I think I'll just be trying regular wax.

A note to others: don't let the wax cool too much, or it won't be sticky enough and just slide off your skin.

  • I tryed it today...It was ok...It did pull out some hair, but when is hot i cant put it on my skin...and when is a bit cooler, is not so effective...:-ooo So i dont know what did i do wrong...

  • For how long should it be on thaa ' stove ckuuz i overcooked it

  • ouch ouch ouch ouch ocuh

  • When it has completely cooled and is at room temperature what should it be like? I burned the firsf batch b/c I forgot about it. The second batch was watery. The third batch is thick, but not solid. The third batcg I used lime instead of lemon.

  • is it a way to make fool?

  • what does 1 cup stand for? 250ml or 240ml? I'm trying to make bigger amount so I don't have to do it every 3 weeks, and today I've ruined it 3 times :D

  • if you use it ist it cold or warm ???

  • Some of the professional vids say to rub talc-free powder into the area and rub soothing lotion in afterwards. Does anyone know if this is actually necessary, or are they just being picky?

  • @Goodyfan17 Its very important .. the talc absorbs even the slightest oil residue so that the hair is pulled out effectively. and the soothing lotion obviously eases out the skin and locks the moisture in :)

  • I overcooked it :-(

  • can you use lime juice instead?

  • Thank you so much this was the best video I could find! How long can you store it for? Do you know?

  • can i eat this? It looks nice ><

  • i just finish making this recipe and waxing

it worked pretty well, just have some baby hair that the wax couldn't grab

i used 1 cup of sugar and 1/8 cup of lemon juice and 1/8 cup of water because i only wanted to do my arms

there was still ton of wax left over, i used only about 1/4 of the wax and the rest i had to wash away. kind of a waste.next will i would even cut the amount i use in half

  • Has anyone tried this?

  • did I just see a cassette tape?

  • isnt water and sugar extreamly hot and wouldnt it burn you?

  • Tried waxing for the first time today. I used the sugar waxing technique. The first batch I made I went with a recipe that called for 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup lemon juice. Either the recipe was way off or I burnt it (very probably). The second batch I made I followed the amounts and directions in this video and didn't cook it for as long. Took a while to cool down and harden. The substance lightens and becomes more mailable. Totally worked!

    Thanks <3!

  • hello ... i tried to make this . it became yellow and fine , but when i put it on my skin it becomes so like water and not like a "ball" and i cant pull it off . it sticks to my skin .

what can i do ? please help

  • @MrsNewBooti most likely, you didn't cook it long enough, you should have tried the spoon trick, if it didn't ball up, you didn't cook it long enough

  • i don't know why, but my wax didn't stretch like yours in 1:38 :(

  • @agula131 you probably cooked it too long, not long enough, or didn't get it hot enough to wax it solidify

  • Hello,i think maybe you could help me:)I saw your awesome video and make my own sugar wax but unfortunately it does not pull out hair.Maybe you could give me some advise why?:)

  • her kitchten, her room, & her just gross me out.

    thumbs up if you agree..

  • I did this but with orange jucie cause i ahd no lemons and it worked great

  • what a mess in that room!!! omg...........

  • I burned it :/

  • @LeaAnne94 hehe....me to....-_-

  • I made ax today but it was dark and hard. I had to put it under very warm water to be able to make it soft and it was very difficult to manage. PLEASE tell me what should i do with this hard wax ? Can i add water ? how much and what to do.

  • @BusyBeingFabulous

this is from the site with the same recipe: * If it is too hard, reject it and make a new patch, you heated too long * If it is too liquid, heat once more, or make a new batch

  • i din't look at the recipe, and then i used orange instead of lemon and then it become hard candy. But! the candy i'ts so delicius. my cousins love the candy

  • @SalsanSalma4ever thats an actual old hispanic desert... i dont know trhe actual recepie but oranges are cooked with watrer sugar and i duno if it has other stuff sweet stuff to

  • does it hurt ?

  • A VERY GOOD TIP IF YOU HAVE VERY SENSITIVE SKIN AND DON'T WANT TO BURN YOUR SKIN!!!

when you finished cooking it and it's still hot, just add 1 - 2( - 2 1/2) tablespoon of water and let it cool down! when it's cold it's not hard and you still can use it!!! ;)

  • Please be careful. I got burnt the first time but I learn my lesson, it was not that bad. I did it without a thermometer but looking at the color of the sugar. And it came out good. Good luck to you.

  • It worked. First time I try I cooked it too much so it became "pure candy". I guess because i used brown sugar and I could not see the color. So I try white sugar and payed attention to the color and it worked. I clean my under arms using paper towel strips to pull the hair. It is kind of sticky though, but I guess that is how it goes. Keep trying don't give up. ;)

  • Thank you so much! I kept prayin wile makin it! Finally got rid of that girl stache!!! :D

  • I burned it and dumped it out, and as I was pouring it out it spilled all over my fingers and got stuck!! Just healing from BAD second degree burn!

  • can i do it even without the thermometer thing?

  • @katrinahot16 yup! It works fine.

  • can i use lime?

  • does it keep? like can you container and then reheat?

  • @jenwazheresoyeah yes you can :)

  • mine comes out too sticky :( I've already made this twice..

  • Hey, thank you so so much! I'm about to try this out :D

  • thanks for the tutorial! it's really helpful!

  • Just convinced my mom to help me make this. I reallyyy hope it works

  • Just made some. Waiting for it to cool! UGH! SO excited!!

  • @MissReesie123 Me too!!

  • @MissReesie123 When it cooled it worked out great!!

  • How long does it usually last?

  • it can remove any hair, hurts alooot less than anything else

  • I just made some, it came out perfect! I can't wait till it cools!

  • Comment removed

  • Does It Work On Upper Lip Hair ?!

  • can it wax face too ??? any injury ????

  • @chameliondrew I don't get it.

  • @AwEs0meNeSs598 This was a suggestion video while he/she was watching Justin Bieber, I guess.

  • I love how i went from Justin Bieber to this.... HAHAH

  • I used Halawa quite a couple of times(got it from my Arabian friend). Then I tried to make it myself. I think I tried 5 or 6 different recipes, but none worked, except yours!

    THANK YOU!!!

  • I used this recipe and it turned out great

got it on the first time

    THANK YOU!

    This thing is obsesive

    so much better than waxing

But I took like 30 min because I was so scared of it overcooking

(Turning the heat off testing to see if it was done, medium low heat)

    ahaha

  • @cinziakay does it hurt tho? when you start to wax with it?

  • @xLiveLaughPeace

    It definitely does hurt

but way less than waxing, tweezing or threading.

    I heard it's also healthier

It works on an part of your body including the face.

  • do you know how much gr/ml a cup is, because we don't have cup in Germany...

  • @aihfh cup = tasse , heißt also 2 Tassen Zucker, 1/4 Tasse Wasser und 1/4 Tasse Zitronensaft. Eine Tasse ist ungefähr 250 ml. Hoffe ich konnte helfen.

  • mine keeps comming out too hard how do u get it soo gummy

  • does this actually get the hair out?

  • @LG112108 ya it does cuz sugar sticks to ur skin n when u try to remove it it take off ur hair !!! ask any questions about makeup , hair , skin to me !!! i m surely gonna help u guys !!!!

  • I tried a recipe on How To that I found and it came out way too goopy. I ended up binning it after trying: reheating, freezing, adding flour, brown sugar, confectioner's sugar, golden syrup and molasses. After the stench of the molasses, I tossed it down the drain. Now I see why it didn't work. my recipe called for 2cups sugar, 1/2 cup water and 1/4 cup lemon juice. Too much water maybe.

  • can you use brown sugar?

  • @ThePrettyfine any sugar except icing sugar

  • can you mak a video where you make it from scratch and use it ... all in one vid .. pls ;p

  • it totally didn't stretch in my fingers when i ran cold water on it :( but i didn't want to over cook it!

  • I've seen recipes that say 1/2 cup lemon juice and water. but I was wondering if it made a difference from your recipe.

  • i just made my second batch. burnt the first and now this one is just sticky but DARK but not brittle but too sticky to use as wax and I kept putting the mixture back on the stove to cook a little more but finally I just gave up. I am going to do more research and see if I can find more specific cooking info.
