  • An explosive combination of Latin romance, European elegance, and deep Chinese sentiment of love, life & death!

  • Luca andLoraine are just spectacular their techniques they stand out from the rests of professional top dancers. It's not surprising to know they have so many fans and proud to admit they're Luca's fans. They're just perfect, techniques, rhythm, emotion wise.

  • Does anybody know the name of the song?

  • Luca is really thegreat & best foxtrot dancer

  • I've bettered the translation from Tracy Huang's song: The butterfly flew past, My heart is also not here. During the bitter clear and long nights who'd come To wipe the tears that's swelled my cheeks It's greed to want to rely Greed for a little affection. The old love that is owed is difficult To swap for a heart whole of sorrow. How can I bear it (demo finishes) The rest of that song is so beautiful and melancholy, but it'd take me a few hours to work out.
  • @teddykan1 Hi, can you tell me the name of this song? Thanks in advance...

  • Does anyone know where I can buy this record??...I went to Amazon to look at all her CD's, but none of the songs are listed.....

  • Can someone tell me what this tune is? I can translate part of it for a friend who's captivated by this demo: "Butterfly flies past, absent of mind. Who's come by during the long nights, ?. Talked for a while now, let's talk a little of love, Even if the talking dries up, ? Love arises... (demo ends). The above may need correction, and I'd be pleased to hear them! Regards, teddykan
  • simply the best!

  • Can someone please tell me whether. They are actually consuming two rumba beats 1,2 to do the first step (slow) of the Feather step? and then the rumba beat 3,4 as thei Quick quick of the feather step? It would be amazing if they can actually do this gracefully as rumba is so slow.

  • From what I can discern, here they consume beat 4 & 1 for the slow and used beat 2 & 3 for the 2 quicks.

And this doesn't have to be a rumba music just because it has low beat count. It's just a song with a 4/4 rhythm.

  • Beautiful !

  • I wished I could save this video and show it to my students. I have to cross apply

several dance type figures.Only a very few

    apreciate the creative hidden creativity

    lesson.

  • perfecto :D

  • I think the music is great and the way they dance to it, wether it be rumba or foxtrot. They do it. I have tried to find the song without luck

  • The name of this song is entiled "Bury Heart" by Tracy Huang. Please enter

these info in Goodle search, you will get

the whole content of this song.

  • Do u know where one can purchase this song or from what album it is off??

  • Slick...

  • Goosebumps :D

  • I thought the music is a rumba. I guess this music can be either or. anyhow, i am going to see them next month. yipee

  • Where about?

  • in vancouver, canada in august. google "jc dance" and you will see.

  • Saw them 3 days ago. Fabulous

  • It is rumba. And the slowfox they dance doesn't fit with the music at all. no matter how well it is done.

  • In their defense, sometimes they have no choice is the music as it could had been supplied by the promoter. As I see in this picture, it could be a university club that put up this demo and the students dj may not really understand SF music.

  • Yep, that's quite possible. If that's the case, then I admire their ability to dance anything at all.

  • On second look, I think the music was deliberate. They didn't show any surprise to the music and the crowd looked very sophiscated to know the difference between rumba and SF. they probably stop the dj and tell he/her to change the music in a hurry.

  • Yes, the music is very deliberate. The way you can tell for sure is that in their 'Dance Bible' DVD, they dance foxtrot to a cha cha cha rhythm. Others may not like it and disagree with me, but I sense what they are trying to show is that the International Style Standard is still at heart a 'rhythm' dance.

  • whats the name of this song?>??

  • the song's name is "Bury Heart" 葬心- sang by Tracy Hwang, Taiwanese singer. The song was from a Chinese Movie titled "Ruan Lin Yu" shot around 1990. The movie was a true story about a 1930's moive actress Miss Ruan who ended her own life at young age for the one she really loved.

  • i cannot stop watching this. They are truly a gift, their foxtrot seems so effortless and dreamlike that goes beyond mere steps. It just takes my breath away. Plus they rarely make a bad musical choice, which helps showcase and not take away from the rich quality of their dancing.

  • good song

  • add &fmt=18 at the end of the url to watch in HD

  • He's a poseur par-excellance, but I guess when you're that good you're entitled to be. I really don't want to get into technical points. Suffice to say that this was just beautiful.

  • clarification point - the instances I'm curious about with Loraine's footwork are during the feather steps and three steps. In the corners, and going in and out of turns, rise doesn't really matter too much, but the feather and three's, however... anyone?

  • I love this couple (the fluidity is gorgeous), but is it me, or does Loraine put a little more rise into her slow fox than what ought to be there? (she comes up on her toes almost waltz like) I've seen her do it a number of other times, and while I think it adds so much to the performance, from a technical standpoint, I can't help but be internally conflicted.... They ARE performing a int'l standard slow fox correct? Are pro's not as strictly bound...?

  • 1.) Technique helps you to dance - which is what they are doing. If Lorraine needs to use her feet and legs this way to stay in balance, why not? She wouldn't be doing it if it would be of no importance, right?

2.) Technique should not be and is not judged at a competition. Why? Because you must have a good technique to dance good, stay in balance and transform the music into motion, to dance good.

  • Thank you for your reply, huugaa. However, I cannot agree with some of the points you made. Technique, especially at the pro level, indeed helps you dance appropriately, but the thorn in the side of the international style slow fox is that there should not be much rise and fall when the lady dances the Feather step; it is considered improper otherwise, at least at the amateur level of comp. At her level of proficiency, balance isn't as much of a primary issue as it is w/ amateurs...

  • ... one ballroom - so everyone offers something different, something special to get your attention. Hope I cleared some things up...

  • Secondly, technique is actually judged at competitions. It's not just generally good dancing technique that they're looking at, it's the style-technique that is particular to the style of dance itself. For example, a couple dancing Smooth Foxtrot would be judged differently than International Foxtrot because the technique inherent to the figures of those styles are indeed different and unless it's a showcase performance, it must be adhered to...

  • I think we use different definitions of technique. Technique is and should not be judged according to the IDSF Competition Rules. What you are calling "style" I would call characteristics. Every dance has its own character which has to be presented, and the technique helps you to do so, but basic technique is not judged at higher levels - it is taken for granted. I don't know at what level you are currently competing but it is ALWAYS about balance. Balance is the most important thing ...

  • ... even for the world champions.

Talking about rise and fall: the technique book says "no foot rise". But there is such a thing a body rise and the footwork for the partner in the backward movement toe-heel. I can see no problem there... Furthermore, it does not look strange, does it? I don't know if you know the lecture this was taken from but you have to bear in mind that here in good old Europe, especially in Britain you got 10 to 12 former world champions competing for your attention in...

  • I don't like the song at all, but it's amazing how they interpreted this rumba-song.

  • does anyone know the name of this song ? :)

  • Luca and Loraine dance with an illusion of weightlessness. They express in movement so much more then can be expressed in words. They are, by far, my favorite dance couple.

  • jealous :(

  • unbelievalbe

  • Talking about musicality here...they flow with the music. Awesome!!

  • Their movement is pretty unbelievable, as well as their ability to stretch the music.

  • They are for sure the slowest couple ever. I wish I could move as slow as they do.

  • they are awsomley slow... another slow couple who are really good is alan and donna shingler.. should watch their fox from 2003 wss...
