Young listeners can't possibly imagine the impact of the Doors. But I can see how, if you watch this video montage, you wonder: WTF was the big deal? Image meant a lot those days. Morrison was it. The music, in retrospect, was much better than a lot of critics thought at the time. Morrison's image, coupled with left coast psychedelia, made the music irresistible. Just sayin'.

There was nothing quite like the Doors in the scene at the time, but this song gives us a semblance... enjoy the glow. The psychedelia of L.A. cannot quite be recreated, but listening to this gives you a bit of a clue.
