i love you mr. grayson, i really really do. this isn't about implimenting more legislation. it's a matter of having WAY too much legislations. we need competition in this country not less. as a constitutionalist you should know this. think outside the box. you would know i'm right if you think about topics backwards and find a common ground in your mind. it doesn't matter if you're left or right. you're a good man and you should know that government intervention means corruption.
I just came to the realization today after all I have been seeing and reading, that the Republican party is trying very hard to destroy America and if you just look you can see it very clearly.
@Tarn1968 YOu are an embarrassment to America. When people around the world see dipsticks like you without a full capacity brain who needs medication is to speak here and believes you have something real to say. You are a sycophant
SORRY but i already have government insurance, its called medicare and i still can't afford to use it, besides its not up to the government to keep us alive,
@Tarn1968 well since we are playing make believe... here i got one... I think the tooth fairy will win in 2012... oh hold on this one is better... I think santa claus will win in 2012. Are we having fun yet?
Job number one for Republicans is to crush democrats and to impeach Obama. For the way he went into Pakistan to Kill OBL. This was illegal and a war crime. We need to focus on real issues for America. Such as family moral values, gays should not get married, sex after marriage. Also do away with welfare such as social security, medicare and medicade. Also its a known fact tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations create job. SAY no to the communist Liberals in 2012
Obama's healthcare bill just FORCES poorer americans to buy healthcare from the insurance companies and will penalize them $2500/month if they don't buy it. I think Alan's heart is in the right place, but you don't want the O-Bomb healthcare system.
We need more Alan Graysons in the US! Mr. Grayson you've got the best job in the world because you work with facts, not "what if's." On the other side of the aisle are Republicans who use a deceitful approach to these issues, e.g. fear mongering, death panels, socialism, big government. They tell us that people without insurance choose not to pay for it, not that they can't afford it. They massage their resentments for the poor, generating hatred for people who have nothing. Disgusting!
@Tarn1968 They're a bunch of little retards, who refuse to allow facts to get in the way of their rhetoric. Love it when non-stream media interview Palin supporters and not one knew anything about her "policies". In fact, they don't even know why they'd like to see her president except that they "like her". MORONS!!!
This speech is very weak. He uses one study by America Health organization "40% more likely to die from no health insurance" Huh? First, If they had health insurance he's sure they wouldn't have died anyway? 2nd, American Health Journal? Like they're unbiased and have no stake in this. Finally, he uses the one single study to project images of dead people everywhere. You could do better, Alan.
Clever surveys and number crunching by PEW and other such places are often used to sway public opinion
@oakwoodx88 How very telling you completely left out the Harvard study right? And under the health care bill, if you had cleaned out your ears, insurance companies won't be able to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, which is a "loop hole" the insurance co's have used to deny coverage for premium paying customers who they determine to have pre-existing conditions, so no, they will no longer die if they have coverage. Clean out your ears and LISTEN instead of pretending Alan got it wrong.
I haven't seen a speech this melodramatic since Oral Roberts said if he didn't receive 8 million dollars God was going to call him home. It was pathetic then, and it is even more pathetic now. I expect better than this from Grayson
The Only thing that I Give him is the aduit of the federal reserve and ending wars, otherwise that's it, he's so arrogant just like the rest of the two party system
Michael savage is so much better, cause he hates both political parties!
the basic point is - was - and always will be ... is it exceptable to society as a whole that large portions of it´s population die every year or not ?
So the point , comparing the basic problem of health insurance with a attack from a foreign power , of what ever type , was a good one !
however ...
What he said was nothing out of the ordinary , just plain and simple humanistic !
@GermanStraight1 Very well said. Americans cry and use the 3,000 dead on 9/11 to justify killng hundreds of thousands of people overseas, but hey, who cares about the 44,000 people dying EVERY YEAR because they can't afford health care. What a bunch of hypocrites!
@Tarn1968 lol...enjoy the takeover of the congress and state houses by the Tea Party nuts.... oh, and speaking of nuts as well as sources of entertainment- say "hi" to Allan Grayson for me if you visit him at the psychiatric ward once he checks in ONCE AGAIN...lmao at the rat-wingers...
@Zepplant You'd better pray no one in your family is diagnosed with a life threatening disease and gets refused coverage from their insurance co for whatever flimsy reason, because they CAN! Maybe then you'll get why it's important to ensure all americans have coverage, and to ensure insurance companies CANNOT REFUSE COVERAGE for pre-existing condition, their most popular excuse to keep your money in their pocket! How retarded are you really?!
@nvieira100 ah yes- the lunatic left, who whine like little b!tches about death panels continue to perpetrate lies about people with life threatening disease being denied coverage...granted your two remaining brain cells are unable to think for themselves but people in America are not refused coverage for life threatening illness- that's happens in gov't run health systems like england...but alan grayson, who got his ass handed to him in november, said so and as a good apostle u regurgitate it
@Tarn1968 that's priceless- an unoriginal rat-winger who cannot think for herself and does nothing but parrot the talking points fed to her by left wing ayatollah's calling others ignorant...lol
@Tarn1968 yes....the dims really care about the poor....they care about them so much they keep them poor- where would there voting base be if they didn't??? lol
Again, I can see you clearly have no interest in what The Federal Reserve is up to, you have no interest in the future of The Stock Market because you are too stupid to realize that the poverty level is rising! And I can clearly tell that you have no interest in the fact that those geniuses at the Federal Reserve want to buy more securities (Toxic Assets Anyone?)! No you know what, you are proof of the fact that Americans in Majorities are In deed Fucking Stupid.!
@Slayerfan84 right- because it was grayson who voted against TARP which allowed the purchase of these toxic assets...oh, wait- no it wasn't; grayson voted in favor of TARP to allow the feds to purchase the assets...it was in fact TARP and the Stimuloss bill, another shining moment in the life of psycho allan grayson, which led to the rise of the Tea Party and the eventual take over of congress and the state houses....you really need to stay on schedule taking your prescription meds :)
FUCK Every single one of you little cunts who are hating on this brilliant man! How bout instead of saying HA HA You lost, how bout you refute his arguments! You CAN'T ! None of you jack offs who are running around these pages trying to laugh at Grayson's loss can refute any of his arguments! Typical rightie tea party morons! Alan Grayson Lost because he is too intelligent for this stupid country! I WELCOME ANY REFUTATIONS!
@Slayerfan84 yes- he was right on the money when he said people reverted to eating in other in hard times a month before the election....grayson is brilliant & slayer rocks...i mean grayson is a moron and slayer sux....that's more like it :)
Of course Grayson lost, that's only because NOT Every American is that intelligent! The Average American has no fucking clue what a Central Banking System is! And I take it you don't either you dumb cunt? Well coincidentally Grayson and Ron Paul together were going after the biggest crooks in this country! Wall St, but no according to jack offs like you, you idiots are glad Grayson lost! Now I know what you idiots care about, and its not financial reform!
@Slayerfan84 you're a Slayer fan- no wonder you support a retard like Alan Grayson...there's probably one more bed at the psyche ward he'll be visiting soon; make sure you grab it...
@Slayerfan84 i am to please and do so in a manner the dimwitted can understand....maybe you and your boy bitch grayson can get the "army's of obama" after me....lmao
republicans took an oath to protect and serve those who don't need any help, they're in place to protect the richest men in the world, don't be fooled by the GOP, they're not gonna give you your money back.
@alexandreleverrier and we know the demoKrats love the poor...they love them so much they purposely keep them poor....where else would their voting base come from gosh forbid the poor learn to fend for themselves?? lol
@Zepplant Well, seeing as Democrats actually try to help the poor and at least show some semblance of caring about the poor and have them get on their feet, the poor would vote Democrat.
Why the fuck would poor ppl vote for the GOP who don't give a fuck about them ? Remember the Middle Class ? They're starting to realize the GOP don't give a fuck about them either.
If you vote Republican you're either rich or fuckin stupid.
@Slayerfan84 psychotic individuals would view someone who spent time in a psychiatric ward as intelligent....i'm still wondering how this dumb fuker won two years ago...
Grayson from FL, Wiener from NY... there are some great public servants. Too bad the GOP and corporatists in the Democratic party outnumber these two and other like them.
The consequence is, when you do not provide care at an early point, you condemn them to get way sicker or even die - which is really not making sense, when you look at it in a financial way.
And the money is there. The top 10 or five percent, however you want to look at this, have a lot of it and they would not really miss some 10% tax
If you are reformed, I think that means you are a christian. As a christian, how can you be against a way to provide your fellow brothers and sister a way to stay healthy and alive?
But that is just the beginning. If people do not get health care at an earlier point, the sums of money they need to pay for later care, when their situations are getting way more serious will increase a lot.
Whats that suppose to mean? Last time I checked we are ALL gonna die. I realize that everybody wants health care... so give the rich folks their money so businesses can actually compete with one another again. The more jobs there are, the more coverage there will be to go around.
Commanding that every single person that walks into the e.r. is covered by the tax payer, is just wrong, and it's socialism.
@H3rb3rtW3hn3r Did I not say that I realize that everyone wants health care? It's true, we all do. But we all want health wealth and well being. The trouble with that is it's not realistic. Someone has to pay the bill. And simply printing more money, that's not going to do it. What does my faith have to do with this? What did I say that wasn't true?
@daiktana Wow those are subjects for real in depth discussion. Seriously. I don't have a problem with road const., since the majority of tax payers probably drive, or use roads some how to get to work. Not to mention, since there are so many, it ends up being job security for those that do it.
As for the other two issues you mentioned, I think the root of the problem with both of these go hand and hand. I have a hunch they both are tied to the fact that we stopped teaching our kids about God.
@HeReformedMe I agree children should be taught about religion, but not as the supreme law of the land, but as a way to show them the right way to live. (ie, values, morals, etc) If we're going to try to be a nation where church and state are separate, we need to live up to that standard and not make laws where the moral basis is religion (ie, abortion, gay marriage), but that's another debate for another time.
@daiktana "and not make laws where the moral basis is religion (ie, abortion, gay marriage)"
Ok, but what I'm saying is that in my opinion ALL these issues are related. When "freedom OF religion" started being understood as "freedom FROM religion" thats when we brought about our current state of affairs.. Now we have to argue over issues that were never issues before. When we stopped recognizing the Bible as authoratative, we had nothing left to define the "sanctity of life" & "marriage" on.
@daiktana Now we are in the days of "tolerance" And thats cool. I am for the right of free thought and free speech. Truth is discovered in such ways. In fact the whole premise of free speech in the first place was so that we would always be able to speak up against government officials, and religious leaders. Free speech allows us to bring our debates to the table, listen to both views, and decide FOR OURSELVES which view is more likely the view that is based in truth. It's a beautiful thing.
Grayson truth to power this is my america he speaks of peace to you and yours Mr. Grayson if I lived there I would vote for you.... Please Never SHUT UP I LOVE THE TRUTH you will kick palin with a radio show truth to powe.
@tivla we ll see what your saying when you are sick and you are out of your health plan. You won tbe on here saying squat because you wont have any money for your isp. hahahaha. Yes people do die in the US because they have no ins. are you in denial about that fact?
our tax dollars are going to be used to pay for health care for those that cannot afford it, and those who are not taxed because they are illegal immigrants or because of people who abuse the system and turn a profit from tax returns and welfare and the resources that were designed to help people who HONESTLY do have a need for financial assistance. get a life and develop an opinion of your own. do you really want to support illegal immigrants and citizens who are already cheating the system?
@redfly95 You have just lied!, if you do not know the facts fine then go research but do not make things up that are not true to further and agenda that you and others have.
No we didn't remove the administration, they had to leave... A new administration won the election. If Grayson was smart he would of proof-read his speach and spotted the error. Dumbass
@NikovK We are also more likely to suffer due to lack of health care. Suffering and death that DON"T have to happen is what health care does for those with it. A person with high blood pressure who treats it is more likely to live to a certain age (Or survive the year) than those who don't treat it. Get it now?
@ruralpotter Yeah. I get it. I also get that we are all 100% likely to die, 100% likely to suffer, and 100% likely to be nationally bankrupt thanks to this bill. Without the bill, we're still 100% likely to die, 100% likely to suffer, but have a snowball's chance in hell not to be nationally bankrupt. Don't bankrupt me to dry your tears, because I won't ask you to bankrupt yourself for mine. To each his own.

Alan Gayson (Spelling intentional) is a FUCKING FAGGOT NAZI PIECE OF SHIT...but beyond that...he is also a FUCKING MORON...but aside from that I think his mother may actually have been A FUCKING GOAT...and if you happen to be one of the handful of FICKING IDIOTS that actually like this POLE SMOKER may I suggest a large box of rat poison as an ingredient for your next meal to FEED TO YOUR WHOLE FUCKED UP FAMILY because you and anyone associated with you SHOULD FUCKING DIE!
@gonavy505 btw... something is up with you. your channel and the people your friends with the subscriptions that you have and who subscribe to you seem to be very liberal and very tolerant. it's quite funny all your "gay remarks" your post does not match the crazy anger below. at all. peace
Could you explain how healthcare can be made affordable that covers all the care one may happen to require and still feed the healthcare industry with massive profits. Note, the healthcareindustry is there to make profit and grow at all cost and will go to any length to achieve results and satisfy shareholders even at the peril of an American life by simply denying you a life saving care... This is the reality of healthcare.... Let,s wake up!!!
greyson is good. he stands up to the health care companies controlling our govenment. you care about gun rights?
do you think that is stronger than the majority rule of law? keep your guns...
it wont help you when the shit hits the fan. its a false god. at least they are american made. and employ americans in their manufacture.i like guns good american technology why didnt we keep the other things here like cars clothing (made in china) and countless other things not made here.
THE truth hurts and it is clear that lot of our right wing friends simply will go to any length to ignore fact for the sake of blind alliance. This shouldn't be politics. Healthcare for Americans MUST a right not to be plat with politics. I pray not that none of the right wingers family get into a serious medical situation and being denied of care.... This is where you will experience how important this is issue is all all about...
and it is the responsbility of wealthy Americans to make sure that those that cannot afford it have it?!? The government is never the answer but rather the problem.. I don't have health insurance either the problem is the cost not the accessability to it!! I don't want to take from those who have it so I can have it myself.. I would rather we make it affordable for all so we can take responsibility for our own lives and purchase it ourselves..
Alan Grayson has plenty of money already. He was not bought and paid for by industry like all republicans, some democrats. This man has no reason to lie like the rest. We need people like him to run this country.
@baxtar1963 If he has no reason to lie then how come every word out of his buck-toothed mouth is a lie? And how come Alan is trying to get a private citizen thrown in jail for excersizing her first ammendment right to criticize his hypocricy? Oh yeah, cause hes a coward :P

Hey Grayson! Enjoy your time selling out America from the 8th District of Florida! You represent a lot of older folks, right? The mere thought of Health Care Reform (as you wanna be lawmakers call it) that makes DEEP cuts in Medicare is not going to sit well seniors. I know that a lot of retirees live in and around the Eustis FL area. Hmmm. Bet they talk to their friends, who talk to their friends and you get the picture. Have fun going back to the private sector after 2010! A one term wonder!
I was refused emergemcy room care @jackson Tn county hospital Head nurse said @walmart and @illegals bankrupted TENNCARE I had 2 go home and DIE they county was loaded with illegals woking @pictsweet Bells Tn.
@uchihaangelus ah, yes! it's only unethical if someone you don't like does it!! that's what i love about the left, you don't even try to hide your hypocrisy!
Er, why are you guys doing this, in the the uk people stay out of hospitals because they don't want to die! Soon you will have more managers than doctors or nurses, cost over runs and failed grand I.T. schemes. Nothings free, someone's going to pay for it do you want to pay for it efficiently or ruinously. In Britain some of us leave the country for treatment because of waiting times. If you are poor you still die and quite possibly in larger numbers.
Britain's NHS has problems, but this grossly misstates them. England has higher life expectancy, more hospital beds and more nurses per capita than the U.S.
Japan, with a public health system, has the world's highest life expectancy.
In the U.S., scores of millions are not covered. This country can do a lot better, learning from its own mistakes as well as those of others.
However flawed, almost all public health systems are superior to the uncaring for-profit system in the U.S.
In terms of antibiotic resistance in hospitals, the UK has one of the worst records, particularly for MRSA. . For people who are concerned about the possibility of MRSA infection in UK hospitals has been one of the factors which has encouraged them to seek hospital treatment abroad.
So given the millions, yes that's right, millions of people who use the National Health Service every year, could you give me some figures on the amount of people who seek treatment abroad in total, and for what type of operation, and how many of them do it specifically to avoid the dreaded MRSA?
Could you while you're about it tell me how many people go abroad to get vaccinated against flu every year, and polio, and TB?
If you paste the actual page for your figures I'll look at it?
the government cannot run the post office nevermind our health. If they are so good surely we should have a national food service? You don't have to worry about affording it but the money will taken from you through inflation and taxation.
Well how many cases of rickets have you seen on British streets lately?
Where's your local slum, with orphans running around unattended, prey to any roving upper class pederast?
Do we die from Typhus, and Cholera from contaminated water?
Didn't it take government intervention to supply clean water, electricity, phone services, police, ambulances, roads, drains etc, not to mention education for all.
Wasn't this a reaction to the failure of the private sector?
I see poverty everyday, children come to my school without eating and having stayed up into the early hours of the morning. Their parents are not well educated and many have never worked, is that a failure of the private sector? I work with the brightest pupils and we help them get into the best schools, mostly independant, is that a failure of the private sector?
These children have rickets, Typhus, Smallpox do they?
I think not.
Bad parenting in the lower cognitive classes is endemic, it's not because they had a poor education, it's because they haven't got the intelligence (cognitive functioning) to look after children. Nothing to do with poverty, everything to do with the old man down the pub drinking the housekeeping.
I agree that generally speaking the private sector is better at most things, but not Health, Power, Post, etc.
You truly are a plonker who has no idea about real life. As most socialists you have a vague idea of the theory. I find your comments disturbing to say the least and fascist to put it bluntly. How you can possibly say the post, health and power industry are better run by the government when the reality is the polar opposite?
In what sense am I a socialist, i think you're just slotting me into your "socialist" schema, saving yourself the effort of thought.
My comments are true, and have been replicated many times, social problems, mental health problems, child abuse, alcoholism, wife beating, violence generally are all highly correlated with IQ. The further down the scale you are the worse it is, on average.
Private Health care = dead people, who can't afford it. You call me a fascist whilst advocating mass murder?
Well something has to be done regardless, whether it be government health care, or the government regulating and keeping insurers honest. I work 2 jobs and operate a small trading card store and cannot afford health coverage, the money i make alone barely keeps me afloat. Funny thing is that my main job (private security) offers this coverage, but deliberately makes it hard and expensive so that only 15% of our work force has it. That 15% are the supervisors... go figure.
Isn't private health care a form of eugenics? The lower earners are the people with the lowest IQs. By denying them health care you are in fact condemning them disproportionately to death.
You're right it should have passed with the Third Reich, not be resurrected under the guise of "liberal" economics.
The dodgy state of our power grid infrastructure is testament to how private companies pursue short term profit to the detriment of the country.
Well on average obviously, statistically IQ is correlated with earing. There will be some people with high IQ's who are unemployed, but as ever, the bulk of unemployment will fall on the people with average iQ's, and as the IQ drops, so the proportion of people who are unemployed, with criminal records, alcoholics, increases.
So in the particular your right, but in the general your wrong.
Policy is generally made for the general good, not the individual.
wait wait, so what % of people that arent going to die are going to jail because they cant afford the manditory public offer. Oh yea its far above the number that would die by about 3000%. America, death or poverty/jail? Just remember your master's either way.
Get em, Grayson. It's about time to see a liberal who doesn't trip over his own political correctness and says it like it is. Hoping to see a lot more of this guy.
This guy is one of the richest members of congress. He now feels some pang of guilt because his enormous personal success was gained at the expense of others. So now he has to try and claim some moral high ground by saying republicans don't care about people. He obviously cares so much about people that he is going to force others to relinquish the fruits of their labour. Wealth distribution is theft. The solution is less government not more
wealth stratification is also theft, I'd much rather see politicians who are prepared to fight for the middle class that has been decimated by our economic system than ones merely concerned with keeping it convenient and easy for the top percent of earners to loot the bottom half
If wealth stratification is also theft then Grayson is a major thief. He has an enormous personal fortune. To suggest that wealth redistribution by force is some how a solution to the stratification of wealth is a foolish notion. The top percent of earners are at the at the top for specific reasons, likewise the bottom half is at the bottom for a specific reasons. Until the underlying cause is addressed this disparity will not change
social and economic darwinsim is dumb. in the united states the top 1% owns 40% of the wealth, the top 10% owns 73% of the wealth, and the bottom 40% owns less the an 1% of the wealth. how can you see such disparity and not reject such a morbid notion.
You keep telling yourself that, as Sir BowsALot's ratings plummet, the deficit surges, the dollar weakens, and US respect and prestige falls around the world. Imbecile.
if you're so stupid to not understand that the woeful state of this country's financial, educational, health care and other problems are entirely the fault of the criminal Bush/ Cheney regime, then there's really not much hope for you...they raped, pillaged their way thru the first 8 years of this century and squandered the wealth and prosperity of this country based on lies and illegal wars, which was all a big smokescreen while their Wall St. friends looted the national treasury...
Too bad your hero 0bama isn't up to the job he campaigned for. And now that he is failing, he whines like a little kid that it's Bush's fault. I guess being President is above his pay grade. LOL
...and you're such a fucking mo-ran you probably don't realize the Bush family made their (first) fortune financing the Nazis...
BTW, the last time our nations unemployment was this high was 25 years ago in 1984 (that's 4 WHOLE years after your St. Ronnie Raygun began his takeover of the govt...socialism and welfare for military-industrail-healthcare whores) sweet jeebus you Repiggies are stoopid!

Why should I care whether some stupid poor person doesn't have health care? Let the lazy bums die! It's not my fault they decided to drop out of high school and do drugs all day. The less of them there are, the less our nanny state has to waste its time and money taking care of them, and the more it can spend on lowering the national debt and making sure our troops have enough supplies to win.
One of the reasons that we don't have any money is because our health care is costing us more than any other country in the world and we have the worst system. 700,000 bankrupt 46,000 die and millions lose everything while HC insurance companies keep 1 out of every 3 dollars spent on heath care. If we don't fix this we will continue to fall behind the rest of the world.
You cook up all of these conspiracies and suck in antigovernment propaganda to back your mindset. The fact is that although you know this reform is needed you cant stand the thought of some poor person getting medical care for free. The reason for that is because youre a greedy hateful curmudgeon. Its okay if people loose everything and go without health care as long as it doesnt happen to you. Get your mind off of yourself and think about your country for a change.
Actually, Rasmussen is one of the most accurate pollsters, and a majority of their sample actually identify themselves as Democrats (37%D, 32%R, 31% NA).They were the only pollster to accurately predict the 2004 election within a margin of error of 0.5%. The truth hurts, I know. Sorry to break your heart. :)
Funny thing is is that you're the tool - you automatically assume anything against healthcare reform or hinting that a majority of Americans are opposed to its current form is "right-wing" and a "tool", without actually doing any research.
Democrats and republicans are no different from eachother - they pretend to fight in front o the cameras but at the end of the day they're all politicians whose only concern is getting your vote.
"Research" eh? Why don't you do some research and find out what an antitrust exemption is. THEN do your silly campaign against healthcare reform. People like you that argue that our table scraps are just fine the way they are are the problem with this country
I don't have a problem with healthcare reform, there's no denying there are serious issues with unregulated privatized healthcare right now.
But this bill will only drive up the cost of premiums and put half the nation on a bankrupt government healthcare program.
A good healthcare bill would focus solely on reform, not on trying to solve the problem with more bureaucracy, spending and more taxes spat out in the form of mediocre, money-sucking govenrment services.
Don't kid yourself that the cost of premiums going up would be out of necessity. Over the past decade, profits for the insurance industry have gone up even though the number of insured have gone down. It's called greed. It's human nature. And you should be ashamed to defend it. Oh and saying the public option would apply to half the country either means you're being willfully deceitful, or are just ignorant.
I guess that makes the Congressional Budget Office deceitful? They predict that by 2019, 50% of Americans would be on the public option. And that's a generous underestimate.
Stop assuming I am defending insurance giants when I clearly told you I am pro-reform.
I am simply not pro-welfare.
Yes, insurance companies should not deny based on pre-existing conditions. Yes, there should be caps on medical malpractice suits. But NO, we should not put more Americans on a broken system (medicare.)
In the case of the changing landscape of people needing public health care, we need businesses to (and if not already, to also) provide their workers with healthcare, which gives people incentives to get jobs and be productive members of society. And regarding what is coming down the road, people need to be educated about investing and wealth management. BUT a public option would be a beneficial competing factor. If we didn't have the USPS, mailing a single letter would be astronomical.
i love you mr. grayson, i really really do. this isn't about implimenting more legislation. it's a matter of having WAY too much legislations. we need competition in this country not less. as a constitutionalist you should know this. think outside the box. you would know i'm right if you think about topics backwards and find a common ground in your mind. it doesn't matter if you're left or right. you're a good man and you should know that government intervention means corruption.

Disgusting!

Clever surveys and number crunching by PEW and other such places are often used to sway public opinion
oakwoodx88 1 year ago
@oakwoodx88 How very telling you completely left out the Harvard study right? And under the health care bill, if you had cleaned out your ears, insurance companies won't be able to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, which is a "loop hole" the insurance co's have used to deny coverage for premium paying customers who they determine to have pre-existing conditions, so no, they will no longer die if they have coverage. Clean out your ears and LISTEN instead of pretending Alan got it wrong.

The consequence is, when you do not provide care at an early point, you condemn them to get way sicker or even die - which is really not making sense, when you look at it in a financial way.
And the money is there. The top 10 or five percent, however you want to look at this, have a lot of it and they would not really miss some 10% tax
H3rb3rtW3hn3r 1 year ago
@HeReformedMe
Well, first of all:
If you are reformed, I think that means you are a christian. As a christian, how can you be against a way to provide your fellow brothers and sister a way to stay healthy and alive?
But that is just the beginning. If people do not get health care at an earlier point, the sums of money they need to pay for later care, when their situations are getting way more serious will increase a lot.
H3rb3rtW3hn3r 1 year ago
"A certain number of them will die..."
HeReformedMe 1 year ago
@HeReformedMe
So consequently, you never see a doctor? Because why should you get medical help if you are about to die anyways?
And, as everybody is supposed to die some time, why bother to eat or drink?
Wow, you are a proud example of christianity.
H3rb3rtW3hn3r 1 year ago
@H3rb3rtW3hn3r Did I not say that I realize that everyone wants health care? It's true, we all do. But we all want health wealth and well being. The trouble with that is it's not realistic. Someone has to pay the bill. And simply printing more money, that's not going to do it. What does my faith have to do with this? What did I say that wasn't true?
HeReformedMe 1 year ago
@HeReformedMe just like the roads, police and public school right?
daiktana 1 year ago
@daiktana Wow those are subjects for real in depth discussion. Seriously. I don't have a problem with road const., since the majority of tax payers probably drive, or use roads some how to get to work. Not to mention, since there are so many, it ends up being job security for those that do it.
As for the other two issues you mentioned, I think the root of the problem with both of these go hand and hand. I have a hunch they both are tied to the fact that we stopped teaching our kids about God.
HeReformedMe 1 year ago
@HeReformedMe I agree children should be taught about religion, but not as the supreme law of the land, but as a way to show them the right way to live. (ie, values, morals, etc) If we're going to try to be a nation where church and state are separate, we need to live up to that standard and not make laws where the moral basis is religion (ie, abortion, gay marriage), but that's another debate for another time.
daiktana 1 year ago
@daiktana "and not make laws where the moral basis is religion (ie, abortion, gay marriage)"
Ok, but what I'm saying is that in my opinion ALL these issues are related. When "freedom OF religion" started being understood as "freedom FROM religion" thats when we brought about our current state of affairs.. Now we have to argue over issues that were never issues before. When we stopped recognizing the Bible as authoratative, we had nothing left to define the "sanctity of life" & "marriage" on.
HeReformedMe 1 year ago
@daiktana Now we are in the days of "tolerance" And thats cool. I am for the right of free thought and free speech. Truth is discovered in such ways. In fact the whole premise of free speech in the first place was so that we would always be able to speak up against government officials, and religious leaders. Free speech allows us to bring our debates to the table, listen to both views, and decide FOR OURSELVES which view is more likely the view that is based in truth. It's a beautiful thing.

If you are poor you still die and quite possibly in larger numbers.
murrchops 2 years ago
Britain's NHS has problems, but this grossly misstates them. England has higher life expectancy, more hospital beds and more nurses per capita than the U.S.
Japan, with a public health system, has the world's highest life expectancy.
In the U.S., scores of millions are not covered. This country can do a lot better, learning from its own mistakes as well as those of others.
However flawed, almost all public health systems are superior to the uncaring for-profit system in the U.S.
jerryengelbach 2 years ago 2
Well that's strange, because I live in the uk, and I haven't noticed these hordes of people staying out of hospitals so as not to die?
Could you give me your sources on this fascinating statistic, I'd be obliged to see where you got this information.?

MRSA statistics across Europe

Just a thought.
canisfamilliaris 2 years ago 2
I see poverty everyday, children come to my school without eating and having stayed up into the early hours of the morning. Their parents are not well educated and many have never worked, is that a failure of the private sector? I work with the brightest pupils and we help them get into the best schools, mostly independant, is that a failure of the private sector?
murrchops 2 years ago
These children have rickets, Typhus, Smallpox do they?
I think not.
Bad parenting in the lower cognitive classes is endemic, it's not because they had a poor education, it's because they haven't got the intelligence (cognitive functioning) to look after children. Nothing to do with poverty, everything to do with the old man down the pub drinking the housekeeping.
I agree that generally speaking the private sector is better at most things, but not Health, Power, Post, etc.
canisfamilliaris 2 years ago
You truly are a plonker who has no idea about real life. As most socialists you have a vague idea of the theory. I find your comments disturbing to say the least and fascist to put it bluntly. My comments are true, and have been replicated many times, social problems, mental health problems, child abuse, alcoholism, wife beating, violence generally are all highly correlated with IQ. The further down the scale you are the worse it is, on average.
Private Health care = dead people, who can't afford it. You call me a fascist whilst advocating mass murder?
canisfamilliaris 2 years ago
Well something has to be done regardless, whether it be government health care, or the government regulating and keeping insurers honest. I work 2 jobs and operate a small trading card store and cannot afford health coverage, the money i make alone barely keeps me afloat. Funny thing is that my main job (private security) offers this coverage, but deliberately makes it hard and expensive so that only 15% of our work force has it. That 15% are the supervisors... go figure.

Well said, I hope this man never gets into goverment. Eugenics should have passed with the third reich.
murrchops 2 years ago
Isn't private health care a form of eugenics? The lower earners are the people with the lowest IQs. By denying them health care you are in fact condemning them disproportionately to death.
You're right it should have passed with the Third Reich, not be resurrected under the guise of "liberal" economics.
The dodgy state of our power grid infrastructure is testament to how private companies pursue short term profit to the detriment of the country.
Markets can't function everywhere.

The lower earners are the people with the lowest IQs
?
I'm convinced that a lot of the people who aren't earning anything right now are pretty smart.
TFerra 2 years ago 14

MHUnited1 2 years ago
@MHUnited1 "what % of people that arent going to die are going to jail because they cant afford the manditory public offer."
The answer is 0% because there is no jail time in this version of the bill.

Here's the solution:
Let the registered dumocrats "opt in" on their IRS form this year to your government health scare plague, and go ahead and tax them for it.
AND
Let the Republicans "opt out" on their IRS forms and in doing so they can opt out of having their private insurance TAXED.
Use the taxes you already get from income to cover the uninsured and leave it at that!
Fair enough?
Honestly, you can pay for abortions and skip mamograms etc..for...'them'.

Get em, Grayson. It's about time to see a liberal who doesn't trip over his own political correctness and says it like it is. Hoping to see a lot more of this guy.
dougmanjones 2 years ago 6
This guy is one of the richest members of congress. He now feels some pang of guilt because his enormous personal success was gained at the expense of others. So now he has to try and claim some moral high ground by saying republicans don't care about people. He obviously cares so much about people that he is going to force others to relinquish the fruits of their labour. Wealth distribution is theft. The solution is less government not more
readingXgilanator 2 years ago
wealth stratification is also theft, I'd much rather see politicians who are prepared to fight for the middle class that has been decimated by our economic system than ones merely concerned with keeping it convenient and easy for the top percent of earners to loot the bottom half
meatpopsicle1 2 years ago
If wealth stratification is also theft then Grayson is a major thief. He has an enormous personal fortune. To suggest that wealth redistribution by force is some how a solution to the stratification of wealth is a foolish notion. The top percent of earners are at the at the top for specific reasons, likewise the bottom half is at the bottom for a specific reasons. Until the underlying cause is addressed this disparity will not change
readingXgilanator 2 years ago
social and economic darwinsim is dumb. in the united states the top 1% owns 40% of the wealth, the top 10% owns 73% of the wealth, and the bottom 40% owns less the an 1% of the wealth. how can you see such disparity and not reject such a morbid notion.

You keep telling yourself that, as Sir BowsALot's ratings plummet, the deficit surges, the dollar weakens, and US respect and prestige falls around the world. Imbecile.
kmsoileau 2 years ago
if you're so stupid to not understand that the woeful state of this country's financial, educational, health care and other problems are entirely the fault of the criminal Bush/ Cheney regime, then there's really not much hope for you...they raped, pillaged their way thru the first 8 years of this century and squandered the wealth and prosperity of this country based on lies and illegal wars, which was all a big smokescreen while their Wall St. friends looted the national treasury...

Too bad your hero 0bama isn't up to the job he campaigned for. And now that he is failing, he whines like a little kid that it's Bush's fault. I guess being President is above his pay grade. LOL

CartCollector 2 years ago

RichardE8ST 2 years ago
Rasmussen polls are complete bullshit
Murdock owns Rasmussen and Fox. He uses both of the to promote his rightwing antigovernment propaganda.
Only 20% of the population is willing to admit that they are republicans.
RichardE8ST 2 years ago 3
Actually, Rasmussen is one of the most accurate pollsters, and a majority of their sample actually identify themselves as Democrats (37%D, 32%R, 31% NA).They were the only pollster to accurately predict the 2004 election within a margin of error of 0.5%. The truth hurts, I know. Sorry to break your heart. :)
harvey101107 2 years ago
1st) Rasmussen is right wing
2nd) The Moriarty of Americans DO want reform depending on the wording of the question.
3rd) You're a tool who's laboring on behalf of interests outside your own self interest.
Sad.
Steveaux 2 years ago
Funny thing is is that you're the tool - you automatically assume anything against healthcare reform or hinting that a majority of Americans are opposed to its current form is "right-wing" and a "tool", without actually doing any research.
Democrats and republicans are no different from eachother - they pretend to fight in front o the cameras but at the end of the day they're all politicians whose only concern is getting your vote.
harvey101107 2 years ago
"Research" eh? Why don't you do some research and find out what an antitrust exemption is. THEN do your silly campaign against healthcare reform. People like you that argue that our table scraps are just fine the way they are are the problem with this country
Steveaux 2 years ago
I don't have a problem with healthcare reform, there's no denying there are serious issues with unregulated privatized healthcare right now.
But this bill will only drive up the cost of premiums and put half the nation on a bankrupt government healthcare program.
A good healthcare bill would focus solely on reform, not on trying to solve the problem with more bureaucracy, spending and more taxes spat out in the form of mediocre, money-sucking govenrment services.
harvey101107 2 years ago
Don't kid yourself that the cost of premiums going up would be out of necessity. Over the past decade, profits for the insurance industry have gone up even though the number of insured have gone down. It's called greed. It's human nature. And you should be ashamed to defend it. Oh and saying the public option would apply to half the country either means you're being willfully deceitful, or are just ignorant.
Steveaux 2 years ago
I guess that makes the Congressional Budget Office deceitful? They predict that by 2019, 50% of Americans would be on the public option. And that's a generous underestimate.
Stop assuming I am defending insurance giants when I clearly told you I am pro-reform.
I am simply not pro-welfare.
Yes, insurance companies should not deny based on pre-existing conditions. Yes, there should be caps on medical malpractice suits. But NO, we should not put more Americans on a broken system (medicare.)
harvey101107 2 years ago
In the case of the changing landscape of people needing public health care, we need businesses to (and if not already, to also) provide their workers with healthcare, which gives people incentives to get jobs and be productive members of society. And regarding what is coming down the road, people need to be educated about investing and wealth management. BUT a public option would be a beneficial competing factor. If we didn't have the USPS, mailing a single letter would be astronomical.
